In the show's series finale, Mark and Robert discuss the war of words over the radio in California, the situation with bitcoin-based poker rooms, and the endless treadmill of federal legislation that doesn't seem to go anywhere. We thank our listeners for hearing us out for the last six years and hope to one day see you all that the poker tables, be they online or live!
Mark and Robert are discussing more WSOP related news this week, from event recaps, to Erick Lindgren's bankruptcy filing, to the latest changes the WSOP is making the middle of the series. Then the two discuss projected changes to the 3rd party software PokerStars allows for use with their site, and the rapidly shifting landscape for online poker in Pennsylvania.
Mark and Robert discuss the latest to come out of the WSOP on this week's show, from Phil Hellmuth's 14th bracelet to discussions about just how bad the decks being used this year are. Then the two discuss Pennsylvania's latest online gambling bill (that looks too terrible to be real), the launch of WSOPStats.com, and Amaya's entry into the NASDAQ.
New permanent co-host Robert Dellafave joins Mark on the show to talk about the WSOP, including the massive Colossus event and cheating allegations at the $10k Heads Up NLHE event. Then, Chris Grove bids farewell to the Rabbit Hunt, but not before talking about the worsening situation in California and turning to New Jersey to see how affiliates are doing in the Garden State.
Chris was in Sacramento this week and talks to Mark about his thoughts on online poker in California as a result. The two discuss the committee hearing as well as the figurative battle lines that seem to be getting drawn across all the factions. Then Robert comes on the show to discuss an odd bill in Nevada as well as an update on graft accusations regarding Sheldon Adelson.
Chris and Mark are joined by poker journalist Robert DellaFave to discuss the WSOP conference call and the changes made to this year's events. Then they discuss the repeated assurances that Stars is coming to New Jersey, a new online poker bill in New York, and Senator Harry Reid's desire to make online gambling illegal (suddenly).
This week Chris and Mark discuss the changes to the shell bill that will hopefully set up online poker in California and discuss why those changes needed to be made. Then the two discuss the talking points by the various players, look at who is likely to remain profitable in New Jersey post-Stars entry, and talk about the changes to PokerStars' affiliate program.
This week's its an entire podcast unintentionally dedicated to California and its quest for online poker. Chris and Mark discuss the bill that passed committee, the various factions in play, and what's next for the bill on the legislative side. Then the two discuss the potential popularity and revenue of an online poker-enabled Golden State, and whether the projections given have a chance of being right this time.
This week Chris and Mark discuss the California online poker bill situation as it relates to the horse tracks, and discuss whether the various sides can ever get along. Then they dive into the rumors regarding PokerStars' entry into New Jersey, and Sen. Harry Reid's recent comments about online gaming.
This week Chris and Mark discuss the RAWA hearing and what it means for the future of the bill. The two discuss the witness testimony, future steps for RAWA, as well as potential carve outs that could take place soon.
Chris and Mark discuss the state of Nevada's online poker market and what it is likely to do to increase revenue in the months and years to come. Then the two discuss the ending of the "cash plays" rule at MGM casinos, look at the Representative that is looking to expand gambling in Pennsylvania, then discuss account hacking on PokerStars.
With the RAWA hearing cancelled due to snow, Chris and Mark discuss the witness list as well as other aspects of the hearing and what we could expect. Then the two discuss Pala Interactive's decision to stay away from poker in New Jersey and competing bills in Pennsylvania.
Chris and Mark discuss Jason Somerville's sponsorship with PokerStars and the evolving state of poker entertainment with live streaming. Then, the two look at the latest moves by the WSOP Circuit, as well as an interview with a Lock Poker employee that reminds us all that not everything is perfect in online poker.
In what seems like a repeat of last week, Chris and Mark discuss another set of bills in California and what they may mean, Resorts Casino's new transaction waiver that doesn't involve PokerStars, and a new RAWA committee meeting date.
Chris and Mark discuss shifting attitudes among California tribes and Caesars about bad actors and what that means for legislative efforts there. Then they discuss Pala Interactive CEO Jim Ryan's concerns about RAWA, the potential birth of a CSIG talking point, and continued delays of Amaya's New Jersey application.
Chris and Mark are back after a couple cold-stricken weeks with a full slate of news. The two talk about Full Tilt's pop-up error, the new WSOP schedule, a second online poker bill in California, and the bill that just won't die, RAWA.
More news from the US state level this week as Chris and Mark dissect the latest from California Assemblyman Gatto's office regarding his AB 9 internet poker bill. Then, the two discuss allegations of corruption within California's gambling enforcement agency and Washington's new online poker bill that seeks to decriminalize the act in the state. RIP Diamond Flush, we will miss you.
Chris and Mark ring in the new year discussing PokerStars' chances for getting into the New Jersey market as well as their rollback of most of their rake increases. Then the two discuss a poker program that can play near-perfect HU Limit Hold'em and their bold predictions for 2015.
On this week's episode Chris and Mark discuss the demise of RAWA for this Congressional session and gauge its chances of passage in the next year. The two also look at California's AB 9 online poker bill and its sponsor Assemblyman Mike Gatto. The podcast wraps up with a revised projection of iGaming revenue and a look into a regulatory investigation involving Amaya that isn't coming from New Jersey.
