Mike "Timex" McDonald began his online poker career when he opened a poker account to get a free chip set.  Initially he played micro-stakes LHE and low buy-in tournaments, and started playing live once he built up his bankroll.  He devoted a lot of time to studying the game, and worked hard to develop fundamentals.

In February 2008, he took first in EPT Dortmund for almost one million Euros. 2009 was also successful, as he finished 5th at EPT Dortmund, 4th at WPT Venice, and 11th at EPT Barcelona.  He won a side event at the NAPT Bahamas in 2010 for over $146k, and final tabled EPT Deauville finishing in third place for over 400k.  He also had his largest online tournament score ever, winning the Ongame Grand Slam Final for $156k.  Timex has nearly $3.5 million in lifetime live tournament cashes.

In 2011 he won the second-ever Epic Poker Tour event for $782,410 and finished 3rd at an EPT San Remo Event less than two months later.
