gotta start somewere

Guess Im gonna give a blog a go. I have lost a ton of money playing in games I wasnt rolled or could beat. I actually was rolled for them but didnt stand a chance in, add some major tilt issues and boom 3/4s of my net worth down the tubes. Havent played seriously except here and there for about 8 months. I think I was depressed about it. Forget I aslo got scammed out of 20K but it was mostly my fault so I cant cry too much about it just learn for next time. Yeah, I love this game and have made a significant amout, for me, playing it. I need to get back to the grind and get my game back on track. Oh yeah I lost quit a bit backing players in bigger games also, I suck. I really wanted to play for a living full time but things happened. I did it part time and made more(untill my idiotic moves) than I do at my job, so I know I can do this. Just got to get going again, find the correct motivation. Some of my poker friends think I should start at the lowest levels and use the 20 buy in rule in moving up and see what happens. I do think this will highly motivate me. They were thininking a little lowere than I was though. They were thinkiing starting at .2-.5 nlh on stars and moving up every time I have 20 buyins for the next level. I was thinking more like starting at .25-.50 nlh but I they make alot of sense in thier reasoning saying It would help me get back into the swing of things and I should get to .25-.50 pretty quick anyway. I recently took on a student. I am helping a girl break into poker and learn the game. I know what everyone is thinking - thats stupid. She really has a thirst for knowledge and wants to get better. If she wasnt so determined I wouldnt do it. One thing that will be a little a tricky is we have some history together. We'll see how it goes. Oh yeah she's an absolute knockout and really cool, too. I just hope she takes the time she needs to learn on her own. Dont think she knows just how much time she has to put in to get better. Not sure if she is willing to sacrifice things for poker. But will see, I know she can if she wants to cause shes very bright. I played about 850 hands tonight and won a little more than 2 buy ins at .2-.5 nlh. I can tell Im paying off a little too much in some small pots. I know I just to need to play tight and value bet, value bet, value bet, while being aggresive. (oh yeah I play 6 max) dont have poker tracker on this labtop yet but will soon. Ill keep up with the progression here. Im really gonna try and keep this blog going. Ill ad some personel stuff soon. but for now mostly poker related stuff.

on a side note, Ive had many of my friends say the would stake me but Ive always played on my own dime and I think I always will. I have a job also so i dont have much risk and I still have some money saved from poker. I really dont spend much at all.
