Quick Update

Blog by : xlengthy

Been grinding a good bit lately. Its funny how poker can changes the way you view things. At the beginning of this month I was playing 50nl FR. Grinding like a mad man trying to get a ton of points and earn a semi decent hourly including rb. Now I'm grinding 200nl and having 1k swings like its nothing. My swings at the beginning of the month were the same as my single buy in ups and down. It's cool to be in this spot and even cooler that I got to 1-2 in half the time I was looking to.

Hopefully if everything continues to work out for me and I'll keep crushing face and make ten million dollars this year.... Or not....

Here is my graph to illustrate the swings. Beginning of the month, 50nl, middle 100nl, end 200nl.

Also, ATTN: Poker gods, I did not include monetary amounts. So please do not turn on my doom switch. KTHXBYE

As always if you make a post and talk about the good results you are having, a downswing is gauranteed to happen the next day. Well, I made a post about how good this month has been going, and my doom switch was turned on today.

Not really much to say, the last 2 days I'm running almost 1k below expectation. Pretty sick...

edit: I tried to post some hands but the formatting is messed up. Oh well. Basically, im loing pots in the sickest way possible.

Annoying...

Oh well. The boomswitch will be awesome, Still up a good bit the last few days, and a lot this month. Im going to do a HH review and make sure that most of the other hands I've lost are pretty standard.

Hmph...

Pow right in the kissa

So I've made the move. I'm not talking about the move to Portland just yet, but hopefully that will happen sooner then later, but the move to 200nl. So far I've put in about three or four session at 200nl and its been going good so far. Yesterday was one of my bigger days (less when I won a 3$ for 1.7k), but as a cash day is my biggest. I ended up playing for about 5 hours yesterday and netting 1.1k in cash game. Also, Fenderjaguar and I played some tournaments and with his expert guidance throughout the late stage I won a 5$ tournament for 255. So all in all a good day.

I've realized a leak that I have. I think I have some poor turn lines that I take with my medium strength hands. Sometimes I turn my hand's into bluff catchers, or will barrel player of relatively weak ranges when I have a hand that is way ahead of their range. Basically, as Fender put it, I bluff them before they bluff me. I think this is bad because we pointed out a few spots where I lost 30-40 in value. This is pretty huge amount that would be lost of a large sample of hands. I am really going to work on this and try get this leak plugged. Other then that, I feel like my game is getting very solid and I am cruising right along. Made it to my 1-2 goal in half the time I had wanted to. Now I just have to stay here!

Well, Im going to make some breakfast and then put in a session if I can find some good tables.

Lots of hands, not so much money.

Hm....

Well I put in a lot of hands today. 5k total. It started of going not so awesome with my first session. Went okay during my first session grinding back the looses and then some, only to get murdered in my last sessoin of the day. Going to take a break. I may take tomorrow off as well depending on how the games are. I feel like I have been playing pretty well lately, but seem to be getting put in a lot of really gross spots, or it seems that the boards are running out as bad as possible in all the wrong spots. Its a little bit annoying, but as the sample size is very small and this month is already turning out to be my best month yet (knock on wood).

I think thats it for now. Some people from my study group and I are going to be playing some MTT's this evening. Chad has been running terribly the last few months so hopefully we can blow of some steam and cursh some tournies this evening.

Oh well, good luck everyone and have fun this weekend.

Swingy Session

Blog by : xlengthy

Put in an epic session today. I woke up early this morning because I fell asleep around 5pm yesterday. Got up at 3am and started playing hands for the early morning Happy Hour. the first session today went okay. was up about 100 in the first hour and a half. I took a break and came back and put in round two.

That didn't go so well. It started off okay and at one point I was up 300 on the day then I hit the doomswitch. Basically it started with me losing a flip to a reg named Slevin Kelvra (maybe the cr video guy?). After that I started to lose every single hand I played for an hour and dropped about 500 back. Took a break killed some bitches in halo 2, watched the a sick Nutedawg pro leak finder video (very very very very good btw), and decided to put in the last session on the day. Played for about 2 more hours to get out of the red. Was able to end the day +50 in poker winnings and ~60 in rakeback. Pretty sick day...

Here are some of the hands from today. Im going put them in the cr replayer to try to avoid any of the formatting problems the last one had because of the pokerhand.org links. I think all of them are pretty standard.

REPLAYER

Hand 1; This player is a reg. He three bets about 3.6% of the time so I thought his flatting range was going to be hands like 22-JJ, QQ some of the time. Also, ATs+ AJo+, and some suited connecting hands. Something I just noticed is that the player in the big blind was three betting 47% of the time over 100 hands. Damn. I think that really skews my inital read. I think that given that, he is very likely to be flatting bigger pairs here in order to backraise over the guy who is going to squeeze about 99% of the time. I think if I would have noticed that during the hand I would have folded this because him flatting with AA or KK would have made a lot of sense. Oh well, live and learn and then get luvs.

Hand 2: I really think I should be folding that river. I just felt that he would probably check call AJ or AT as his kicker doesnt play so when he bets I think I am almost always beat. Very rarely is he going to be triple barrel bluffing me in this spot. Just a bad call, I called out his hand before I called to lose the pot. I hate it when I do that.

Hand 3. Guy was a big agressive fish. I check the flop for deception/induce bluffs. He flops the nuts. Standard.

Hand 4. Hand vs Slevin. He was three betting a good bit, completely standard spot.

Hand 5. What can I say. Get it in with a set and lose.

Hand 6: This hand is pretty sick. Given the fact that pav88 limped here I felt like he could have a huge range. Everything from FD to OESD. This hand is completely a cooler for all people involved.

hand 7. AA vs KK. Not much you can do about it. This player was pretty tight, but I still felt he could have QQ JJ Ak in his three betting range. JJ not as much. But once I see this flop I cant fold.

hand 8. Set over set. I really like my flop call here. This is a pretty drawy board but I cant be super worried about it. I think when I rase this flop my hand is very much defined as what it is. I think it makes it really easy for him to get rid of a lot of medium to high pairs. When I call this board I think my range is much wider. I could easily have TT+ or a FD here. Also, I dont want to shut the player behind me out if he has a hand that would want to tag along. Oh well though. Im getting it in always here.

Those were all the hands I got stacked today or lost a pretty big pot.

Its funny how they say God is always right in front of you. All you have to do is open your eye's and look. Well, I finally opened my eyes, and there he stood. Please click this LINK to learn more... He was right infront of me this entire time. Everytime I opened up Mozilla, or Chrome he was staring me in the face...

OH and btw, God hates fags.

Btw, if you cant tell this is a joke. I think most religions are completely fucked up (yes including YOUR religion)...

Grinding like it's going out of style...

^^ Nose to the grindstone, get it?!?

So its 6am and I just got finished playing the early morning happy hour on FTP. I've moved up to 100nl FR and the games seem very similar. I ran pretty well today putting in two session over all and 3461 hands for almost 7 buy ins plus 50 in rake back. Fun stuff it was another one of those session where I ran well in all the good spots. Got it in bad once with a set vs. a straight and filled up. Other then that I think all the hands were pretty standard run good type stuff (stacking fish who have underpairs etc). Overall though, full ring has been going great. I'll be grinding the hell out of it.

Don't have a lot to say right now. It's late, I'm a little tired and very hungry. I think I'm going to go to bed though and watch a poker video or something (back to that obsesson thing) while I fall asleep.

Take care and run hot everyone!

p.s. If you're playing against me, please run like shit. KTHXBYE
