The end to a promising tourney

Blog by : winnie2002

After the last post I ended up getting my way up to 8th with 28 or so left and opened UTG with JJ....

The rest is history. I had to instacall even after his terrible beat for 300k the previous hand. I'd instacall anyway so what the hey.

It obviously cripped me until a few hands later I attempted to defend my BB. Those 70% chances are playing like I'm sticking my entire role on a 7-2 with a AKKA board.

Game over and only an $80 win.

I then went back to my usual PLO 1/2 game and after being -400 HU within 10 minutes I pulled it back to book a $100 win which with my BR at the moment is a godsend.

I don't want to play any lower. I don't have the motivation and tbh I find it increasingly difficult to put anybody on any hand at all.

2 MTTs tonight. 2 cashes with the 2nd still going.

I'm happy with my MTT form cos I've been card dead throughout and now cashed in my last 3. Here's hoping tonight can bring me a nice wad to take take to the PLO cash tables later.

A change of luck in the offing?

Blog by : winnie2002

Tonight seems my change of luck has arrived so soo after my first blog entry; Here's hoping anyway.

I played a little PLO 1/2 and ended up approx 200 in only 83 hands. I decided to enter a couple of MTTs and cashed in the 1st one for the princely sum of $10.17!!

I'm now currently 8th after the 3rd break in the Ipoker $7.5k rebuy with 48 left.

The prize pool is currently sitting at a pretty 10k so the winner walks away with $2320.

Out of the 700+ runners I'm sitting on 90k with the chip leader on 230k which is how I like it. Every other time I've won an MTT I've come from behind like this .

My stats are pretty impressive...

And I'm not even a tight player but I've been card dead throughout. Out of the 35 hands I've played in 3 hours (11%) I've won 26.

Wish me luck.

I will post hand histories of tonight if anybody is interested?

Poker without Bankroll management

Blog by : winnie2002

Is such a fun way of playing the game we all love.

To be perfectly honest my winnings over the past year have gone from good to bad in a few short months. Peaked at 6k from my initial $100 deposit last june to now teatering on the edge of zip again.

To be honest I have drawn out big wads of it to go on a month long sebatical to Australia but attempting to go through the levels has been painful.

I can't win a $5 STT at the moment and apart from a $1k win the other night at PLO I haven't notched a reasonable winning sequence for months.

I really am contempleting a move from Ipoker though where I have all my success in the past. Being a UK resident though the main sites don't seem to have MTTs at the right time. Full tilt and Pokerstars seem to have the bigger tournies too late for us Brits. I dunno what to do yet.... I'll see how the rest of my limited BR goes.

The best bad beat I have got over recent weeks was my favourite of all time. I lost quad Jacks to quad aces on the river and the 1k pot that went with it. I'm sure if Ipoker had a bad beat jackpot I would have claimed it there and then...

But 'hey thats poker'

Tell that to my bank manager!
