First session after watching Veneer Crushing the Micros season 1 and 2!!!

I was playing $5 NLHE Following everything I had learned from the videos and everything was going according to plan. Over 3 hours of playing one table I turned the $5 into $32.88. Then I lost it all in one hand against the other guy with the big stack at the table.

Heres how it went down:

UTG Stack Size: $38.11
My stack size $32.88

My hand AsKs

UTG: Raises .15
MP: Calls
CO: (ME) Reraise .35
BTN: Fold
SB: Fold
BB:Fold
UTG: Calls
MP:Folds

FLOP:
Qs,2s,7s

UTG: Raises $2
CO: Re-Raises $6
UTG: Calls

Turn: 8h

UTG: Raises $12
CO: Shoves
UTG: Calls

River: 7d

UTG Wins Pot Full house 7s over Qs
CO Muck but I had Ace high flush

Anything I shouldve done differently? At least it really only cost me $5 i just worked 3 hours for nothing lol

Getting on point

I finished watching the Crushing the Micros Season 2 by Veneer and I am no longer totally lost. I realize that watching the video and mastering the material are going to be two completely different tasks. I've got the playable hands written out as well as just about every piece of information from every slide in my notebook. I've reviewed the information from both seasons one and two about 2 hours each day and I catch on more and more each time I read it. I've still decided not to play any hands until I've got it down pat and even then when I do I will be sure to be playing with the notes in my lap. Its gonna take a week or so to be able to play according to the plan without any notes but I'm pretty sure that I'll have it down quickly. The next feat is to watch Brys micros videos series 1-5. Thats what I am doing tomorrow. I need a day off from studying because I work about 12 hour days and so I am sitting back with a few beers and a blunt with my girlfriend watching the dolphins game. All day today at work I did absolutely nothing but think about poker... hence I didnt sell any Insurance plans (I usually sell 2-4 per day) but honestly I could care less because I have a much bigger goal ahead of me. I was talking to one of the owners of the company who is a multi-millionaire and in his early 80s and he had told me that the only way he was able to get where he was today was to take risks. This guy is a total G... 80 years old and has girlfriends half his age, has travelled the world over 10 times, he speaks 5 languages, drives 3 mercedes, a ferarri, and a hummer. This guy has everything I want to have (except the women should be about 20 years old) except I guarentee that I will have all of that within 2 years. I've got the mind, I've got the hustle. I'm promising myself and whoever reads this blog that I'm gonna be a known poker player and this story will be another one that you read about on the internet and news for decades to come.

Whatever it takes I WILL make my dream happen

I joined CardRunners about a month ago because last year a high stakes player that makes $50k+ a month told me about the website when I was banging out $2 sitngos from my college dorm room. I absolutely would much rather play poker than work 40 hours a week like I have been the past 5 years of my life since highschool and get shit on while not being able to afford my tuition payments. I had to drop out of college because I didnt have the money to continue going last Fall and I moved back in with my parents. Well I am starting up my intense poker studies of about 4 hours per night after work and I will do whatever it takes. My bankroll is starting at $400 because thats about all I can afford right now and I decided to grind all the way from $10 NLHE all the way to $2/$4 NLHE, have $100k in my checking account and making $15k a month by August 1st 2010. I watched Veneers Crushing the Micros Season 1 back to back within 2 days taking serious notes in a notebook I bought at CVS for the sheer purpose of poker. I finished episode 1 of Veneers Crushing the Micros Season 2 taking more extensive notes on Cbetting the flop and turn vs the Nit and Tourist. I bought Poker Tracker 3 a few days ago and I decided that I will start grinding cautiously over the weekend 10 hours on Saturday and 10 hours on Sunday to try and double my account up or at least get to $600 but realistically i dont even know if thats possible playing $10 NLHE, nevertheless I wil try. I wrote down in Composition Book I labeled "Poker" The list of following goals:

  • $100,000 in poker account by Aug 1 2010
  • $2/$4 NLHE averaging $15k+ monthly
  • Complete the series of 6 workout programs I have put off for 2 years
  • Weight 190lbs
  • Have at least 1 final table cash each month in a table relavent to my bankroll
  • Aug 1st start back at school in Orlando and move back out of my parents house
  • Play cash games 6-8 hours a day Sunday-Thursday
  • Never work a real job again
I know for a fact that 100% I can do this because everything I have ever tried to learn I caught on VERY quickly. I dont expect to be a Brian Townsend, durrrr, Phil Ivey or any other mega millionaire, but I do want to make $200k+ a year playing poker 40 hours a week or less. Cardrunners is my new home and support system. I will one day be sitting at the high stakes tables with the pros.
