Even when I try to log onto this piece of shiit worthless fking whore of a site I run bad and they ask me to reload and log on again. It's a fking joke how bad I constantly run at life and poker. I suck and will never win no matter what, but I can never quit unless I off myself. Lesson learned no? bustoed my ub roll

Blog by : thehenge
0

It's not like a actually had much of a roll. I put 400 on for the good friday reload bonus they had, and lost it slowly and painfully. I started off ok building to 600 in the first few days, but then started the demise. I was playing 50plo, and it just seems like I can't win the all in pots. The pots that I am winning arent' going to showdown, and a lot of them I am winning with good bluffs. The ones that are going to showdown are usually sick coolers and suckouts. I watch some ot the other players on this site win pot after pot and are getting delt the nuts seemingly every 3 hands. It's gross. Before I went busto today I sent their support an email about how to track the bonus I signed up for. 30 minutes later someone with the screenname FAQDUMBASS sits down right next to me and proceeds to call a preflop raise with 3359 and then check calls the flop on a 47A rainbow. Ok, I see scrubs calling preflop raises from the small blind at this level, but what are you doing calling on that flop? How can you possibly call with a pair of 3's and an ignorant gutshot to my pot sized 3 bet? VERY VERY SHADY. The turn is the 6 of course, and even though he is only playing 25bbs I somehow check top 2 sensing the wrap or gutshot go there. The river comes another 6, and he insta leads full pot. I guess he was leading for value with the donk end of the str8 on a paied board. I made a bad call thinking it was an ak aq type hand bluffing. I guess the point is that Ultimate Bet is shady, and I don't think I'll play there anymore. I mean right after I send an email to their support asking about how to check the bonus someone with the screenname FAQDUMBASS SITS NEXT TO ME. That screams shadyness to me. It was probably the guy who answered my email. Either way I showed no discipline because I kept playing despite the obvious doomswitch and bustoed. I ignored my stoploss rule and I payed for it. I can't seem to learn my lesson. Once you get stuck a couple of buyins, you're probably not going to make a comeback. I'm just stubborn I guess. Maybe I feel fine, I'm not tilted, and I still feel like playing so I do. But none of that matters if you can't win a pot. Ok rant over, hopefully I've FINALLY learned this lesson. Brutal.

In other news I took a week off from poker last week and yesterday was my first day back. I've stayed pretty busy with the painting project I started about 4 weeks ago. A year ago we had to move my grandma to an assisted living facility, and my grandfather passed on a few years ago, so the house has been empty a while. My dad was talking about putting the house on the market pretty soon, and he needed hire someone to paint the inside. I'm not working a fulltime job right now, so I told him I'd do it. I've never painted an entire room before, and I'd just told him I'd do the entire house of about 2400 sq feet. I started out with the trim, doors, closets, and cabinets. There were a few tiny closets that were tough and the crawling around in the cabinets was a little tough, but I'm done with that and started the walls last Thursday. I've completely finished one room, but since I can use a roller on the walls, I should be able to move a little faster.

I got my ipod linked up to my Acura with the upgrade kit the other day. It's pretty cool not having to mess with CD's anymore and just using your ipod for everything. This is something that more and more people are going to start doing I think, ipod was a genius product for apple. Maybe that's why their stock is trading at such a sick multiple.

The last couple of days I've been seriously considering cashing out my Full Tilt roll and hooking up the TL with a system and some black on black rims. If this sounds ghetto it's not. It is sick though. First I need to convince my brother or my mom to set up an account on Full tilt with rakeback. When I signed up years ago I did so without the rakeback. I've got to figure out a way to get rakeback because I'm really getting screwed over fighting the rake in these lowstakes plo games.

I've been working out pretty regularly. Lifting and running. I'll lift back one day and run 3 miles. Next day lift chest and run 3 miles. Then shoulders and run is optional. Then I start over. I don't lift legs because then I can't run. I need to be able to do cardio, and biking doesn't get my heartrate up like running does. I can't run everyday yet. It's harder to get back in shape than I thought it would be. Maybe I'm just getting old. I can't imagine how hard it is for those guys you see who waited until they're in their 30's and have obviously not done anything besides lift the beer to their mouth for the last decade. Those are the guys who realize after a few weeks that it's just too tough and give up. It's tough to blame them, but a good cardio workout is the best thing in the world. It's like a really massive bong rip without the paranoia and munchy side effects.

kenny perry runs and I run bad

Blog by : thehenge
0

I put a $100 spread on a several players to win the masters Wednesday night, and Kenny Perry was one of my picks. I put $5 on Kenny at 60 to one. Would've paid out $300, but he and I run really bad can't seem to scoop. I also had $35 on phil at 8 to 1. If Phil doesn't dump it in the creek at 12 and yip a couple of gimmies at 15 and 17 I also scoop. I had $40 on Tiger at 2 1/2 to 1 as a hedge bet, (woul'be paid $70 I think). I also had five bucks on vijay, and Brant Snedeker who both hacked it around. Brutal. Oh well.

Here's a hand I just played on UB that should pretty much sum it it for how pokers been going for me the past week or so....weaktight.com/982187
Somehow I'm only down 600 or so the past week. No clue how it's been brutal.

On a posive note the little soccer team I've been coaching is still undeafeated and really improving. They're 1st and 2nd graders, so they're just learning. Life is so good at that age, it's fun to be around. We worked on corner kicks last practice, and I was teaching them how to get the ball airborne. We worked on throw ins and dribbling as well, and I of course ran them as much as possible and scrimmaged.

I've been going to the gym pretty regularly now, and am finally starting to see some improvements in my fitness. I'm lifting usually for 45 mins to an hour, then running the tred mill. Running outside this time of year is hard on my sinuses, but once the pollen clears up I'll take the runs outside more. I'm usually running between 2 and half to 4 miles which is a little behind where I wanted to be when I started running a couple of months ago, but it's harder to get back in shape than I thought.

I grilled out for easter today. Red Snapper, Cod fish, Jumbo shrimp, vegetable combo. And Mom baked an awesome chopped sweet potato with onion and chopped granny smith apples. Hushpuppies were dank as well.

Hope all you cardrunners are doing well, peace.

update and random observations

Blog by : thehenge
0

First I just wanted to talk about something that I've been noticing about when I generally have winning sessions, and when it is that I have losing sessions. I've noticed that I tend to have winning sessions after I get a hard workout with a hard run of 3 or more miles. I don't know if the blood is flowing better to my brain, or what, but for some reason I seem to win at showdown a lot more after a hard workout. So I've checked pokertracker and my stats aren't really much different, I just win more showdowns. Some people might call me crazy, but I swear the card generators somehow have brains. I remember Matusow saying something about the cards having brains, and I laughed at this, but I think he's onto something, because after I get a long run in I tend to win pots like this one weaktight.com/938244
But if I decide to play before a workout this happens...weaktight.com/938245

So my last blog post was on March 5th. Since then I have played 112 sessions of 6max plo, and 4,278 hands. I've managed to scrape a winning of $808.72 at 5.30bbs/100. I played 26/17 over this sample, and I think that the 26 is a little high, but it's not a huge sample or anything, so maybe it will come down some. My showdown wins are up a little to 47% which makes a HUGE difference from the 40% i was running at the previus 2,000 hands or so. I also managed to get a 3rd and a 4th in the 9am plo tourny on full tilt for around $600 total.

Even though I've managed to be up in the plo cash games in total, I've gotten slaughtered at plo50 for some reason. I'm down $468 over 1,900 hands. Luckily I've done well at plo25, plo100, and plo200 for a $1,275 gain. My stats are very similar at all levels, it's just variance I guess, but unfortunately it's where I've put in the majority of my hands.

Another thing I've been trying to do differently is put on a tight stop loss. I've noticed that this is something that Ivey does well. If he gets stuck a couple of buyins right of the bat he just quits, but if he gets up a couple of buyins it's off to the races until he feels like quiting or the games aren't as good. It's a tough strategy for me to apply because when I used to get stuck a couple of buyins right away my nature would be to keep playing especially if I got stacked when I got it in good. But if your doomswitched for the day, then there is nothing you can do about it, and you should quit once you notice it. It's definitely tough for me because I hate quiting, especially if I know that the game is soft. It just seems like a lot of the time it's not who you play or how you play, but when you play and how you feel. There was something else that I wanted to talk about, but I'm forgetting, so I'll wrap it up. Good luck at the tables.

plo and the omnipotent poker gods

Blog by : thehenge
0

I've played 1,289 hands in the last three days at plo50 6max and plo100 6max. I ran pretty cold most of these hands except for a little 200 hand heater right after I went on a long run. I don't feel like I was playing differently statistically, but I think I was making decisions faster during these 200 hands. I played 26/18 during these hands and won 43% of my showdowns. But before my run I was playing 25/18 and winning 36% of my showdowns. After my run I played 288 hands running at 29/21 and winning 56.25% of my showdowns. I was winning the coinflips that I was losing, and the hands where I was slightly ahead I was shipping for the most part as well. It must be a karma thing or something, I don't know but it felt great to finally get some hands to hold. Anyway, I think I'm still running fairly poorly over the last 5k hands or so, so hopefully I can go on a sick heater anytime now.

Some hands....

This guy was playing a pretty lag, so I didn't think this flop would hit him and check raised.
weaktight.com/857973

I was kinda surprised to see the equities in this one, I was 35% which was fine to get it in 3 ways, the nut flush draw somehow has 41% equity 3 ways, but he and I were staking off for 200bbs while the guy with the str8 draw was stacking off for only 30bbs or so, so I made the call against madgreek because I had invested 100bbs already, and I just stacked him on another table and thought he would likely be on a draw here as well, and hopefully some of his cards that he needed would be taken by the other guy that was all in. Heads up without the shortstack I was 57% anyway here's the hand.
weaktight.com/857976

This guy was playing 60/4, but was pretty agressive post flop. On the turn it just felt like he was stealing the pot so I shoved.
weaktight.com/858082

Not much I can do here when I get half my stack in preflop with pretty good aces...
weaktight.com/858087

Here I make a questionable 3 bet out of the blinds with a rundown against a guy who's been raising preflop a very small percentage of the time, I get 4 bet and have to go with it on the flop I guess..meh
weaktight.com/858109

Here I flop top set in a 3 bet pot, but still only have 62% equity against his draw and I get rivered.
weaktight.com/858115

Here I get 50bbs in preflop with 2 other guys holding suited aaxx, I flop the nuts and still lose the hand somehow with 81% equity on the flop.
weaktight.com/858129

Here I get it in on the turn with the nuts and a flush redraw when the pot was only 9bbs on the turn. The other guy has a set and a flush redraw. I have 54% equity and he binks me for 122bbs. Really strange hand I think...
weaktight.com/858135

I get some guy to stick half his stack in preflop here with kk72 single suited. I flop a flush, but his is better.
weaktight.com/858141

Here I flop middle set, and If I'm up against top set then so be it...lucky I'm only up against a couple of draws.
weaktight.com/858150

Here I lose another 3 way pot with 44% equity on the flop against the other two holdings......
.weaktight.com/858153

Well the snow is melting here, and the roads are mostly clear, so I'm about to get a good run in and try my luck at the tables again. It's supposed to get up into the 70's here this weekend which is crazy considering we just got 8 inches of snow a few days ago. Oh well, good luck at the tables.

8 inches of powder, and poker!

Blog by : thehenge

We got dumped on last night here in Midlothian, VA...well at least for us it's pretty crucial. Here's some pics...

Backyard

Cooker going crazy...

Cook playing with her friend down the street...

I've put in several sessions in the past couple of days as well. I've been crushing plo25 6max, and taking shots at plo50. My shots haven't gone all that well yet as I've had to drop back down to plo 25 twice after losing a couple of buyins at plo50, but I finally had a nice plo50 session this afternoon. I still haven't figured out how to post a pokertracker screen shot yet (I haven't tried too hard) but here's some stats and some hands.

When you're taking a shot, avoid these...
weaktight.com/848851

Pretty much a cooler I think...
weaktight.com/848877

I flop a boat, and I think I sized my bets well here.
weaktight.com/848794

I think I played this ok, I flop nfd+ backdoor flush draw and get it in 50/50
weaktight.com/848806

Not much I can do here, a turn check/call is terrible imo and I have plenty of equity.
weaktight.com/848820

I think I made a great bluff here on the turn with the naked ace. Questionable call by him imo, most of the time he only has 5 or 6 outs here, unless he puts me on the naked ace. oh well, you can't really make these plays much at plo25 but if it worked it could've set up later pay offs.
weaktight.com/848827

I hate my play here, I think I should check behind on the flop. I'm a huge dog to any type of flushdraw+ st8 draw, or 2 pr with the flush draw type hand.
weaktight.com/848829

This is terrible in everyway.
weaktight.com/848833

I have to call after making such a big c bet.
weaktight.com/848841

Weeeee
weaktight.com/848844

Me being a donkey.
weaktight.com/848846

Another donk play, I need to c bet smaller, and just pitch to the check raise I guess. I had 2 backdoor flushdraws but still I think I should toss it.
weaktight.com/848857

nice flop to bet call.
weaktight.com/848868

I think I made a good laydown here, not sure what else he could have besides the 910
weaktight.com/848874

I don't think I should be 3 betting this pre is this situation, and I think I could probably toss it after he donks full pot.
weaktight.com/848879

f it, i'm all in.
weaktight.com/848885

plo50 stats: 740 hands at 28/21. 39% showdowns won, and lost 2 buyins.

plo25 stats: 10,34 hands at 26/18. 55% showdowns won, and won 18.5 buy ins.

Amazing how much of a difference winning showdowns makes in the bottom line. Anyway, I'm going to eat some dinner, watch the Lakers Suns game from yesterday, and maybe play some more tonight.

finally

Blog by : thehenge

I finally booked a nice session this morning. I don't want to talk much about it because I'm afraid I'll ginx myself, but it was definitely fun to win a few pots of decent significance. I played several sessions yesterday as well, which did not go so well, and I am reviewing the stats from these sessions right now. I played 669 hands of plo25 6max between yesterday afternoon and this morning and played 28/21 but only won 38% of showdowns. I usually like to play closer to 25/20 or so and win at least 50% of my showdowns, but not much I can do about some of the showdowns I keep losing. I won a little under 4 buy ins at 27bbs/100, so that's good.

Right now I am going to eat some lunch while watching a lefty vid. Then I'm going to head up to the local Y because I heard they needed soccer refs for the little guys on the weekend. I'm pretty sure they offer free membership which is the main reason why I want to do it, but it also pays 7$ an hr or something. But I also think that it's a good positive thing to do for the community, and hopefully it will be enjoyable as well.

I'll try to post some hands in my next blog, but for now that's all I got.
Good luck at the tables.
