Can we kill the CR Twitter direct blog feed? I don't feel like constantly having that at the top of my updated blog list. I just don't care that much what Brymstar is doing today, or any day for that matter.

1 Goal, Taylor Caby, Durrr Challenge

Blog by : tdomeski
0

Well, I guess I am going to start the blog back up again. I quit blogging in I guess May because I am lazy. I also hated the interface and got severely tilted one night when I wrote this huge blog and it was somehow lost in the interwebs when I hit 'Publish'. Anyways I'll start it back up now and see how long I can keep it interesting and how long I personally can keep up my motivation to write every now and then.

I have been taking the past 5 days off to celebrate my girlfriend of 18 months 21st bday (finally!) and this past weekend was my 23rd bday (sigh, getting old). It was fun and nice to have a bit of a break from poker. Over the time I decided my one goal for 2009 was to be a winning player in online MTT's. It is so so so so embarassing to say, but I was a pretty HUGE loser in MTT's over 2008 with a -48% ROI. I think I lost around $50k or so in MTT's throughout the year. Generally I only play MTT's on Sundays and even then I play a pretty limited schedule of Majors ($215+ buy-ins). I also will play most of the bigger FTOPS and WCOOP events when they come around. I really can't understand why I am so terrible at MTT's. My good friend and roommate yellowsub86 humored me when he said he would expect someone who just played MTT's blackout drunk to have about the same ROI as me. I think I am going to dedicate either Monday or Wednesday night every week to MTT's along with continuing my Sunday schedule. I am going to add more smaller freezeouts to my schedule to start and see how that goes. I am pretty good at analyzing MTT hands in a vacuum and seem to hold my own in most strategy discussions involving MTT hands, I just can't ever do shit in an actual MTT. It's time for that to change and I will work on maintaining my focus and increasing my volume and hopefully good results will follow. If I can make $1 this year playing online MTT's I will be very happy.

So I've been around online poker for I guess 5 and 1/2 years now and it really is amazing how popular instructional sites are these days. It's not so much an amazing surprise that players pay $400 or w/e per year to watch videos of winning poker players, but it is amazing to me that so many good players decide to make instructional videos. I think Taylor Caby is an absolute genius and whether he deserves this credit or not I am giving it to him. He somehow created an industry where people GLADLY VOLUNTEER to give money away. He definitely took a huge risk in starting an instructional training site where he was in fact the lead pro giving away all his secrets, but he did it the right way and has literally built a pretty decent empire. I would have to think in this industry, however, that about 90% of the players making videos are not even remotely compensated for what they do. When it comes to the actual time it takes to make a video and the opportunity cost of giving away whatever information you decide to give away about your play, it just seems that you would have to be pretty well compensated to do such a thing. But guess what? Players get utility out of just making a video of their play! Add that self pat on the back with whatever they monetarily receive and you get very well done videos for I'm guessing about half their market value which you can then resell to a huge audience for a markup on even their actual value. Taylor Caby made it 'cool' to make training videos. People want to show the world how good they are and how badass some of their moves are and the Taylor Caby's of the world sit back, bundle them together, market it to a target audience, and bank. Pretty sick if you ask me. After all of this, Taylor then got a MAJOR POKER SITE to sponsor a bunch of the main 'pros' of the site (including himself) which most likely ultimately turns out to be about a $100,000-$250,000 per year bonus depending on how much you want to play. Absolutely brilliant. Games are definitely worse because of Taylor's 'big idea' but I am glad that he has been so successful b/c I get happy when smart people have a smart idea and do more with it than anyone else would have even thought. Sure he had to 'run good' to get it to all work out the way it did, but his edge in this industry is obviously very evident.

So by now everyone knows about the Durrr Challenge where he essentially will play anyone in the world heads up at either 200/400 or higher PLO or NLHE for 50k hands at 4 tables minimum and give the other player 3:1 on a side bet of at least $500k. There are a couple of other small details but that is pretty much the gist of the challenge. On the surface this seems like a pretty terrible proposition for durrr. I just can't imagine him being a 3:1 favorite in a 50k hands heads up match against anyone who would be willing to do this challenge. So, why did durrr offer this challenge? Surely he either thinks he has a 3:1 edge in the actual HU match or he has some sort of edge elsewhere. If he thinks he has a 3:1 edge in actual heads up poker for 50k hands against anyone in the world he is crazy. This COULD be the case, however durrr is not crazy, durrr is not an idiot. Clearly (to me at least) durrr has created this edge elsewhere (aka the stipulations of the bet). First and foremost the most obvious increase in edge is the fact that the match has to be 4 tabling. Durrr surely gains more from 4 tabling than any possible opponent who would be willing to take this bet. Another factor is the dynamic of playing a finite number of hands in a match (in this case 50k hands). I strongly believe that durrr thinks he has the "best 50k hand hu match" strategy of any possible takers in this challenge. This means he has planned a good strategy for every interval of hand against each possible taker. For example against Ivey in hands 0-10k he might play this way if he's up or this way if he's down or this way if he's even. Or something like if I am down x amnt with y amnt of hands left I have to do this and that or whatever. This SO HUGE in a 50k hand HU match. Obviously durrr thinks HIS strategy garners him a little more edge than any strategy that his opponents could come up with. Needless to say it will be interesting to sweat once these matches start. I think Ivey and Patrik have agreed to participate so we will see.

Well that's it for the random ramblings for now. I'll hopefully blog soon about some of my poker playing, and maybe some more random musings throughout the poker world.

Lots to Talk About

Blog by : tdomeski
0

The past 10 days or so have flown by as I've been really really busy. I took two finals yesterday and just have one more to go until I'm done with school until August. My last final is 8am on Tuesday and it's in my corporate finance class which is by far my toughest and most important class of the semester, so I need to get some major studying done this weekend. It's weird b/c had I done everything on track like I should have I would graduating in one week...but instead I'll be back for my fifth, and hopefully last, year of college after this semester. I'm actually really happy that I am not graduating and to be honest sort of dread the day. I mean school isn't too tough for me and I have a ton of fun up here in my college town and I have a girlfriend who is 2 years younger than me so I'm really in no rush to leave this chapter of my life. It's also frightening to think about graduation b/c i don't have any career aspirations as of right now and really have no clue what i'll be doing in the next 5-10 years.

anyways, onto poker. The whole 20k in 20 days challenge kinda never got going. I really haven't had much time to play long sessions or even blog in the past 10 days or so. I played all Sunday but that's about it when it comes to really putting in hours. Sunday was atrocious and I think it's up there as one of the most frustrating days I've had in poker. Since I started the challenge I think I'm down about $3k or so...but it was hard to keep up with how many days I've played b/c I would play like 15 mins in a day then quit to study or do something else. I think the whole idea of the challenge was good in theory but not very executable at this point in my life. I'm going to do so much grinding this summer and I'll have a lot more time to blog so maybe I'll do something similar to that later on.

As for summer we have finalized our plans for the WSOP. Me, tbthanx, yellowsub86, Stoweski, and profontaine have rented a house in Henderson for 5 weeks starting June 1. I'm actually flying out to Vegas with profontaine on May 27th to meet up TB at The Wynn for 4 days before we can move into the house. Sub and Stowe come in sometime that first week of June. I also made a tentative event schedule for the WSOP. I'll definitely be playing the $1500 NL event 2 and definitely playing the Main Event...other than that I actually can't say for sure what other events I'll be playing b/c I'll obviously have to miss some of my scheduled events due to day 2's and hopefully some day 3's and of course just being tired and not up for playing. something I did last year which I think I was the only one in my house to do it was I flat out wouldn't play if I didn't feel 100% up for playing. I would find myself deciding morning of if I was going to play the event today or not and I think that's the way to do it. there are so many events at the wsop and they are all so soft so there is no reason to burn yourself out 2 weeks into the series b/c you've played every event for 15 days.

As far as total number of events I look to play probably 10-12 prelims and then the main event. I'll have a lot of my own action this year so hopefully I can put up some big scores (1 time!!!!!).

Also this week harrahs announced the WSOP ME FT will be played like 4 months after they reach the final 9. This idea sounds really cool but it is actually incredibly flawed. The potential best case scenerio updside isn't that great dollar wise for harrah's and isn't all that great for the popularity of the game and the potential for bringing a lot of new fish in. On the flip side the potential worse case scenario could be absolutely catostrophic to the game. I mean there are a lot of bad things that could arise that could question the integrity of the game and its biggest event. Just not worth it IMO. Not to mention as a decent player it really takes away a lot of my edge in the event. The final table payouts are the biggest money bubbles of the tournament (in any case) and thus where a lot of my EV comes from. Letting novice players refocus, make new reads, and get coached can completely dismiss my edge...kinda lame IMO. I think it's bad bad bad but i'll probably still play and if I do FT i'm gonna spend all my 9th place money so when they interview me in the pre show to see what i've been up to the past 4 months i'm gonna show them all the random shit I bought and explain how I am now broke but freerolling!

I also got drunk last night and booked a bet with my roommate yellowsub86 that I would win a bracelet at this year's WSOP. He gave me 75:1 on a $500 bet. I'm not sure if I got hustled or not. I wanted 100:1 when I was thinking in my head what I'd accept, but then he said 75:1 and I still thought it was reasonable so I took it. I think it's close and a lot will depend on how many non holdem events I play and if I take time to really learn the other games in the next month. I dunno though I just feel like if I played a bunch of events at the WSOP for 75 straight years I'd win a bracelet ya know? Anyways nothing will make me happier than taking $37,500 off of Jeff when I peel some $1500 SHOE event or something. can't wait.

anyways, i'll update after my last final or if I take down a Sunday major.

take care and gl

Okay Getting this Thing Started

Blog by : tdomeski
0

Ok so here goes. I'm doing a win $20k in 20 days challenge and I started today. I was going to start Sunday but didn't want to start in like a $2k hole b/c of the one day a week I donate to the MTT world. I also was going to start yesterday but only played for like 30 mins and didn't have time to blog. So anyways, here goes nothing. The specs of the challenge are basically win $20k within 20 days any way possible. I'm going to include tournament wins and losses for and against my total but I actually only forsee myself playing one day of tournaments (this coming Sunday) in the next 20 days. I also decided on only including days I play in the 20 days...not just the next consecutive 20 days. I'm only doing it this way b/c I have finals in two weeks and might need to take a few days off, then I think I'm going on a short 3 or 4 day vacation with my girlfriend right after the semester.

I'm not sure why I am doing this as I have never really been a fan of these sort of things, but I guess I just wanted something to a) motivate me to blog more and b) motivate to game select a little better and c) get some momentum for the start of the summer.

I really want to have a positive mindset regarding poker the entire summer. I obviously want to do well again this summer at the WSOP and I have set some pretty lofty goals for the summer. I mean I feel like I really need to take advantage of this opportunity as it quite possibly could be my last full summer at the WSOP playing all the events for awhile. I don't know, but how I do this summer coupled with how much I enjoy the complete poker grind and focus this summer could very well determine what I do for the next few years of my life and if I even continue to really play much poker past this year. With all that said I need to be absolutely confident in my game when this summer starts...so this is a good opportunity to grind hard for 20 days and build up some more confidence...and make enough for most of the prelim events I want to play.

I've played a little bit today at 2/4 NL and did ok, winning a little over 2 buy ins... I might play more tonight so the total might adjust but for now my progress looks like this

Day 1

+ $976.00

Total

+ $976.00

Also I've been keeping up with the $25k WPT championship on CardPlayer and it's pretty cool to see some really great players doing well it what looks to probably be the best structure of any NLHE tournament ever. The structure of the WSOP ME this past year was pretty damn good too and a few top players made it to the final 3 or 4 tables. The field is this WPT championship is pretty ridic too, but not as tough as CardPlayer makes it out to be b/c a lot of these feared "pros" aren't that great IMO. I also have been keeping up with this season of the WPT on GSN. It's pretty cool to see friends on the WPT final tables when I remember being 16 and watching Gus and Scotty and all them play and just thinking that it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. Sigh, how far I've come! Anyways all this sweating of major live tourneys has me really having the live bug again and I really can't wait to play in the WSOP and hopefully get deep in some events. Getting deep in a big live event is probably the funnest and most exciting thing I've ever done in poker and I am really itching to get back there (although it sure does take a lot of lucksacking).

Ok

Blog by : tdomeski

Well I was in the process of writing a long blog and something just happened when I hit a few keystrokes and the entire thing was lost. So....here's the cliffnotes

- i've had no focus this entire week, down about $6k

- i had a breakeven sunday, which is actually worse then just losing everything b/c i had a few legit shots at decent scores

- my roommate nick stowe won the sunday brawl for $68k. he controversially pushed KQo for 25 bb's from the BB over the c/l's 2.5bb raise from the HJ on 2nd hand of FT. Got snapped off by AJo but hit a K on the turn then goes on to dominate the FT. (I only say controversial b/c Jeff and I thought it was really bad shove, but TB and Stowe thought it was great. Stowe had good arguments for it so as I'm still not sold on it I guess I can handle it)

- just paid taxes on tues and lost a good chunk of my net worth

- getting prepared for vegas, want to write a guide to vegas for all the first time wsop'ers to ensure they leave the city with some money

- $20k in 20 days challenge, tournaments count for and against the total, starts Sunday...gl me. Will update daily once it starts.

- Also interested in writing a few opinon blogs...sort of like what you might find in an editorial page of a poker newspaper. Anwyays will probably write one next so you guys can get a feel for what I mean.

-Also, gl today to Martine23 in Monte Carlo. I want him to win so bad as he is a good guy and definitely deserving of this.

A Good Week

Blog by : tdomeski
0

After getting buried to start the week with dropping roughly $2.4k on Sunday and starting Monday off down $6kish, I've bounced back quite nicely. I managed to actually turn a nice profit of around $6k for the week, which I am pretty happy with. I logged a bunch of hands at 2/4 NL 6max like normal, but also got in a few 5/10 NL HU sessions vs bad players. MSNL HU action these days is kind of slim pickens b/c a lot of the regulars are pretty good and also won't play you, so when you do get action you need to make the most of it. I ended up running really well vs this one guy for about an hour and took a few buy ins off of him, which is always nice. The best part about it was it was yesterday and I didn't even really want to play at all yesterday. I always like it when I'm not feeling like playing but for some reason do, then win big...even though I feel ABSOLUTEY horrid when I don't feel like playing but for some reason do, and lose.

Anyways, I'm just sort of chilling today...got kind of sick the past few days so trying to get over that. Will definitely put in another long day of MTT's tomorrow so hopefully I can do well.

Also wanted to add that Raptors blog is pretty badass so far. I hope he can keep regularly updating it for a long period of time. The most recent one about going on tilt when people try to get you to drink when you don't want to is right up my alley. I absolutely hate that and it kind of even gets mad, which is weird b/c I rarely do get mad. Don't get me wrong I love to drink and party, but I tend to keep it at about 1 night per week. And if I am just not feeling it, it really becomes a hassle and I'd much rather just stay in and watch a movie or something. Maybe at 22 I am past my drinking prime or something.

Updates

Blog by : tdomeski
0

Well Sunday came and went without much to really talk about. I found myself semi deep in the Brawl on FTP before busting when I attempted to steal the blinds with Tc9c and a 10 bb stack. I cashed for around $450 plus I won $120 in KO's. Other than that nothing materialzed. In the tournaments where I was building a stack I would lose what I call the "crucial flip". I think this tends to happen to me a lot. I open with 30 bb with like AK or something and then get reshoved by a good aggressive player and his 20 bb stack. Now his range here is super wide, but I have like the absolute top of my range b/c he knows that I am opening a lot with a 30 bb stack, so I obviously call only to lose the 40 bb pot to like 77 or something. This puts me in a tough spot b/c had I won I would have 50 bb and instead I have the horrid yet managable 10 bb. And quite frankly this sucks even worse for a player like me because I am probably one of the better 50 bb stack players yet one of the worse 10 bb stack players. Ah, such is life and the life I lead involves playing MTT's once a week.

Also on Sunday Jeff Williams got 4th in that $5k event at the Bellagio. He got it in 4 handed pf with AA for half the chips in play vs Scott Clements' QQ. He lost. Sucks to take $34k for 4th when 1st was like $206k and he gets it in as 4:1 favorite. Scott is pretty good though as I played a lot with him in the WSOP in Event 15 when I got 9th. Ironically he knocked me out of that event too.

Monday was looking optimistic as I saw a pretty big fish sitting 25/50 PLO on FTP with only $2k. Now I know some people sit with $2k to attract people to play them HU, but this guy was legitimitely terrible. Unfortunately for me I got it in drawing dead in the inevitable $4k pot which he won then quickly decided to bolt. Sucks in PLO when you have 44xx and the flop is 554 and you get it in vs 54xx...damn. Anyways no biggie I lost $2k taking a shot, so I fire up a bunch of 2/4 6m NLHE tables on FTP and get to work. This session was just hilarious. It was actually broken down into two parts because I had to go pick up my girlfriend and go to the doctor for like 30 minutes. I played a bunch of hands in total though and lost about $1850 in NLHE. I was down about $4500 at one point but made a decent comeback.

The first part of my session before the doctor was kind of tilty so I'm glad I had to take a break then come back. I think I lost like 2 buy ins off the bat to some pretty brutal coolers/not getting there on huge draws, etc. Then I absolutely gave away 2 buy ins by being an idiot. I'm sure my 5th buy in was just a culmation of losing a bunch of $100-$150 pots.

The second part of my session was crazy. The games were playing super aggressive and I was getting played back at by everyone. I don't really think people had like super reads on me, I think I just ran into a bunch of hands. It also didn't help that I lost a bunch of all in flips and had aces cracked all in pf twice. It was kind of funny at one point because I got QQ in vs AKo literally 3 times in the span of 30 minutes and lost every time THEN immediately following that I got AK in vs QQ pf TWICE and lost both of those. I was sitting with a buddy of mine and we were seriously cracking up. It was honestly funny and I wasn't even tilted. I turned things around, thankfully, and actually ended "up" on the second part of my session about a buy in.

I've also been taking care of my taxes then past two days. All of us here in Athens use the same accountant and she's awesome. She works exclusively with poker players and gamblers and does a great job and really understands us and knows the system really well. It does, however, suck to fork over 35% of your winnings to the IRS. I am actually very much against the American tax system as it applies to gamblers (no kidding, right?) and honestly think it is unfair. If any of ya'll have read Todd Terry's model on 2p2 you can see how stupid the system really is. I mean if the people who create these tax codes ever played poker they would see how incredibly ridiculous it actually is. Here I was trying to LOSE money at the end of 2007 just because I knew I couldn't carry my losses forward so I might as well take some bigger shots....kinda dumb imo. Whatever I am not going to do anything about it and I am definitely not going to evade taxes so I'll just bite my lip and write my check.

The rest of the week I am going to grind some cash and hopefully can still turn a decent profit for the week.

Another Sunday, Sub FT's Bellagio 5k

Blog by : tdomeski
0

Well I have another long Sunday ahead of me. I'm playing all the majors again and a few smaller ones also. Hopefully something lucky happens to me today.

Also my roommate here in Athens and close personal friend Jeff Williams is chip leader going into the final table of the Bellagio $5k event. I believe the FT starts around 3pm Vegas time so hopefully he can take it down. There were 106 runners so only 9 paid and I haven't seen the payouts but my guess 1st will be something around $175k or so. Jeff is pretty much known as the worst best player in online poker or also referred to as the worst player with the most money, but he does know how to close a tourney so hopefully he can take this down.

I'll update later tonight on how I did today and how Jeff did. Good luck both of us.

Good Week on the Grind

Blog by : tdomeski
0

I've been grinding cash all week since my disappointing Sunday and have had some good results. I'm up a little over $11,000 since Sunday, with most of my hands played at 2/4 NL 6m. In this time I've also played a little 3/6 NL HU, 3/6 NL 6m, 5/10 NL HU, 2/4 HU and 6m PLO, 3/6 6m PLO and 10/20 HU PLO. I still have a lot of work to do on my PLO game, but it does seem to be improving especially at 6 max. I'm still not really sure what I am doing wrong at HU PLO. I just don't seem to win at it though. It's funny b/c HU used to kind of be my specialty, specefically NLHE, but I always felt I had a good grasp on playing HU at any game, but for some reason the PLO just isn't going my way...I do seem to get it in pretty good in the big pots however I seem to get crushed in the small pots, just not picking enough of them up, and of course that's pretty important in HU play.

I actually had some pretty interesting hands this past week, but I played on probably 5 different computers throughout the week so don't really feel like doing the work to gather up the hand histories.

I was also glad to see that Raptor joined CR. I've met him a few times in passing and he seems like a cool guy...not to mention his results are pretty damn impressive. It's kind of funny he joined when he did b/c I was actually just thinking about guys like him that day. As you can see this past week I played an array of levels and games. I kinda just jump around the MSNL world trying to make as much money as possible these days. There are others like me in MSNL and there are a bunch of guys like that that do really well in HSNL. Guys that come to mind are Raptor, CTS, and MrSmokey1. You see I remember back in the day circa 2003 when online poker was getting big and every 3 months a site would add a bigger game. Back then, to most people I assume, online poker was pretty much like a video game where everyone tried to level up as fast as they could. Now, this doesn't mean people had no bankroll management or anything like that. Players would still have strict rules for number of buy ins before moving up, etc...but everyone, and I mean pretty much everyone played exclusively at 1 level once they moved up for good. The progression was fun. Building a bankroll and moving up fast was a rush. People would blog and post on 2p2 about how "I just moved up to 5/10! Horray me!" Hell, I did the same thing. I feel like everyone back then looked at online poker through tunnel vision. It would also be almost disgraceful if one week you were playing 5/10 and the next week, gasp, you were playing 2/4. Back then that clearly meant that you had lost like 85% of your roll and were on the verge of busto. Well guess what everyone, people started to realize that that might not have been the best way to make money.

The most successful online players act rationally. They maximize their EV at all times. In economics you always make the assumption that buyers and sellers will act rationally and will always do what's best for them and their bottom line. This assumption, however, doesn't seem to translate over to poker all that well, but it should. I mean if you are browsing the games and the 2/4 NL looks super soft...jump in! If you seem some fish sitting 10/20 HU...sit and crush. It seems simple but really a lot of us don't do what we should when it comes to maximizing our EV. This might just be some long-winded attempt to explain the concept of game selection, but I think it's really not. So many people these days are so narrow minded that they never drop down from whatever status level they think they have and come "slum" it up at a lower stake, when they can actually make more money doing it! I mean there is some merit to playing bigger to get better, but come on guys....there are lots of tools to make yourself better and sticking yourself in -EV spots wouldn't be my first choice. I'm also really tired when people say "well i just can't take that level seriously, it's not enough money". People that say this are degenerates and that statement is far from something someone considering themeselves a professional in this industry should ever say. I mean come on, there was once a time where you sat and railed 5/10 on Stars or...gasp...2/4 on Party and thought..."damn I wish that was me...I wish I could make $20,000 a week". Well guess what guys, we can make that money...and we are younger now than these guys were back then. So, just do it. I will never get dissatisfied or not feel content about a 5 figure week and the day I do is the day I leave poker b/c at that point I am just pretty much all around fucked up.

I guess people might argue that this mindset is why I've never really put in many hands at 25/50 and higher, but I'd argue that the reason I have never done that is b/c I'm not that good.

Here's to a good weekend,

Ha Ha Sunday

Blog by : tdomeski
0

Well as expected Sunday turned out to be an absolute joke. The funniest part was the only tourney I cashed in was the $11 22,000 person tourney when I think I got around 1100th for a cool $45 score. Everything else just didn't go my way. I was pretty focused all day, but just nothing materialized in anything I played, but that is the way it goes sometimes.

I have come to accept that big MTT's online are pretty much a joke, with the exception of the WCOOP events and some of the FTOPS events, b/c these tourneys actually have good structures. 3 of my first 4 bustouts yesterday came with AQo, which kind of sucks b/c it does seem like that is a real trouble hand, but I feel like each play was pretty justified. I got it in twice with AQo flipping (to 55 and 33 respectively) and then got pretty much coolered to get it in the 3rd time vs AK given the situation.

That reminds me, the play yesterday was absolutely terrible with the exception of the $1k and maybe a brief part of my $100r. It really is amazing how weak these tournaments are. I found it incredibly weak especially in the 2nd chance events and the warm-up/brawl. It really is unreal. If I ever have someone call off my 19 bb push with 33 again I think I will kill myself.

I actually want to make a quick point about MTT's. For the record, I am a career loser in online MTT's. Part of this has to do with the fact I don't really put in a huge volume of a well diversified MTT schedule and part of this is that I am really not that great at them. I do feel like I am learning and getting better at them, but I am obviously not one of the best right now. In live MTT's I have done well with two WSOP FT's in 2007 including a 2nd place finish, so I do sort of know what I am doing. I'm saying all this to say despite all of this it will be rare for me to take a Sunday off from playing all the majors and everything else. It just is so ridiculous how big these prize pools are now and how terrible the players are. I remember when the Stars $215 was like a 250k guaranteed and would have an OVERLAY!!! Every week it was like 57,500$ to first or something like that. Nowadays these things are huge and terrible people win every week. Luckily this is my mindset every week so I never get disappointed when I don't get shit accomplished because I realize that even terrible players win and I could be the one to win the next one. I read mkind's blog and saw he hasn't played in 4 Sundays and won't be playing the next 2 Sundays either. It seemed like he was sort of proud of this like he was practicing self discipline becasue he hasn't been running well, and he might have had some shit to do. Mking, are you stupid? Do you honestly call your self a professional? I can't understand why anyone who relies on ONLINE MTT'S for a LIVING would take a Sunday off, much less 6 Sundays off. I could see taking Sunday's off for Superbowl, Holidays (i.e. Easter or Christmas), maybe if like New Years fell on a Sunday...or maybe a handful of random other Sundays throughout the year b/c of travel or live tourneys or girlfriend obligations...but to miss 6 Sundays in a row is absolutely criminal. End rant.

Anyways, this week I am really going to grind some cash hard. I have a bunch of like theory/life lessons of cash poker that I want to write about this week so hopefully I will have time.

For now, though, I'm off to the tables.
