Sigh

0

I've been a shit time recently. Whilst I've continued to plough through some sng's on Stars, I decided to blow my profits over t the weekend trying some more mtt's. I thought I played ok in all of them, but I still suffered some sick beats to knock me out. I think there was only one geniune exit where I can say fair enough and that was 11 from the money in a nice $18k tourney when I put someone all in with AKs and they called with JJ, other than that I've had Kings beaten by 3's who hit a straight of all insults, J2s decided to call my all in and prompty hits a flush, in fact, there's just too many sick calls to mention and posting them doesn't help.

One good thing to report was a 2nd spot finish in a $6 on Party. I registered as it was just starting, then when I tried to raise for the first time, I was horrified to discover it was LHE! Damn you Party!!! They only put Hold em in the lobby for LHE, and NLHE for, well, NLHE obv. Anyway, the cheapest tourney I played over the weekend and the one I actually tried to get out of at one point I managed to cash for 2nd spot but it was enough to cover my losses and make a small profit but also enough to convince me that I should be on Party for a while. No matter how much love I show Stars, it's clear it hates me. Despite the cash being the only one I had over the weekend, I did finish painfully close to the money in a couple of other events so that's a start.

I'm also realising that play sng's for a living is going to be a hard grind. A ROI of around 10% just isn't enough. I don't want to be greedy, but if I'm spending $1000 on stt's then I really would like a shot of more than $100 profit on these to be considered good. I know there's a lot of variance involved, I've experienced it, but I think you need to play more of them a day than I get a chance to do. Perhaps I should face the ring games again.
