Well I wrote a midterm this morning and after working late last night I am not sure how I did but hopefully it ends up with around a B.

I played a few tournies on NoIQ today and ended up finishing second in the 6k guaranteed $3 rebuy for $875, kind if disappointed because I feel I was by far the better player heads up but what can you do.

I put in a few thousands hands at NL .5/1 and I am up 3 buy ins.

Here are a few hands

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2058782 - I think I made the right call here.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2058798 - overplaying top pair?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2058805 - getting in over my head with a marginal hand.

I will try and put in some more hands at Nl .5/1 before I leave for Mexico.

back in the game.

Well I have gotten my money moved around and I have now chosen to play at NoIQ Poker which is on the ipoker network. They offer a $600 sign up bonus and look to have a pretty solid VIP system with great customer support.

I played a little on stars last week winning 4 buyins at NL100 and then taking a shot at a juicy 1/2 NL table and winning 2.5 buyins there. I cashed the money off stars and added a few hundred dollars of live winnings playing $1/2 and now I am sitting with a bankroll of just under $3500.

Once I break the $5000 mark I am going to try and make the jump to $1/2. I am going to play a session tonight and post some hands tomorrow.

I leave for Cancun on sunday for canadian reading week and have to write a paper and study for two midterms before I leave so I might not get in as many hands this month as I had hoped but I am going to try my best.

A Few Days Off..

Well I haven't played much online poker as of late, my Full Tilt account got closed and I need to move some money around and find a new place to play. I think I am leaning towards NoIQ on the ipoker network but haven't completey made up my mind so if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

I played some live 1-2NL in Winnipeg on friday and won just over $200 in about 2 and a half hours of play, I got drunk on saturday, watched cardrunners videos on sunday night at work and then today is my birthday and I just finished watching the movie cloverleaf. I would like to hear opinions on this movie as well ha ha.

I hope to get my money transferred as soon as possible and get back in the games.

Interesting Night

So I was supposed to play a hockey game tonight but after travelling for two hours and putting on half of my gear I realize that my skate blade is broken....what a waste of a trip, my team still walked all over the other team winning 17-8, it was entertaining to watch.

I got home late and played 500 hands before bed, I ended up +$100, here is one spot I think I played poorly

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1947031

I have to stop talking myself into calls like this....I think this is a set more often than anything else but it turns out he flopped a straight

Bankroll is currently at $1750, I plan to put in some hands after class tomorrow before I have to go to work.

Terrible...

Blog by : sheridan86

is the only way to describe the last two days....I have been playing awful, I can't seem to win a hand, perfaps starting to tilt a little. I was +$600 for the month a few days ago and since then I am down just over 10 buyins at NL50. I thought I was ready to take a shot at NL100 but now I do not have the bankroll for it and obviously from my play I am not ready for it anyway.

Looking at some of my hands from the last few days, I have been paying people off with overpairs and top pair, every c bet gets raised, if I c bet with a set or two pair they fold. I have just been getting frustrated with everything.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1943751 stacking off with aces

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1943753 definitely did not play this optimally

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1943761 hoping for AQ or KQ

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1943768 I play bad

Well here are some embarassingly bad plays, there have been a few suckouts and coolers but most of this downswing can be attributed to bad play.

If anyone can give me some advice about how they stopped themselves from stacking off with top pair/ overpairs I would appreciate it. The only thing I can think of is just to c bet and fold to any resistance with any overpair/top pair but it just seems like I will be folding alot of winning hands.

My bankroll is now down to $1600 and I desperately need to fix this. I guess the first step is taking responsibility for playing badly and fix these leaks.

Well I just purchased a 21.6" LG LCD widescreen monitor and a new computer chair, I am really happy with the purchases and I feel that they will greatly improve my comfort level while playing poker.

As well I just purchased PokerTracker and poker ace HUD for my desktop computer, I have been using my laptop mainly for poker and I had PokerOffice on it but I feel that the use of PokerTracker instead will benefit me due to it being the standard software in use by CardRunners.

I had to work this weekend and only put in 3k hands, I ended up down 4 buyins, two of which came at NL50 HU against a very aggressive oppenent who flopped two straights within 150 hands and stacked me both times.

I should be getting last month's rakeback into my account soon, so I am going to play another 5k hands of NL50 and then take a shot at NL100. I plan to play 2 tables of 6 max NL100, and 2 tables of 6 max NL50 while I adjust to the change.

My First Blog Entry

Hey everyone,

I thought it was about time to start a blog about my poker career and use it to help get feedback about my play. It sounds as though blogging has helped alot of top players on their rise through the levels.

I just recently started playing reguarly again in December. I was a little rusty and had a break even month over 20k hands. So far I have shown an improvement in 2008 and I am currently +$620 over 10k hands at NL50.

I am almost ready to make the jump to NL100 and thought this would be the perfect time to start blogging.

I encourage any constructive criticism of the hands I post and look forward to seeing your comments.
