A couple people have been after me to start a blog so we will see how it goes. This is the 4th time I am making this, so hopefully i don't accidentally erase it again, gg computer literacy. I have been very unmotivated lately with my poker so I decided to do a 20k hand challenge, at the bottom of the blog I will have my progress. Below are some of the rules and things I wan to work on:

-20k hands, 10k 1/2 NL, 10k 2/4 NL mostly full ring with a little 6 max

-Increase my VPIP and PFR %

-Increase my PF 3 bet frequency

-Identify and isolate weaker players

-Stop loss 4 buy ins

- wake up by 9:30 am

- exercise 5 times per weak

So far this year I can't get any momentum going.I have 3 or 4 good says then tilt off for a day.It is a nasty cycle I seem to be repeating so throughout this challenge I want to focus on making correct decisions and having a clear head. I added wake up by 9:30 because in the past when I put in more volume I slowly start to go to bed later and later and end up going to bed at 8 or 9 am and waking up at 1 or 2, gross.

A couple losers...feeding the fish

www.pokerhand.org/ I was, at best, a marginal EP raise with J10o. There was a huge fish(villain) at the table who was just jamming any pair or draw and I wanted to hit any flop and be comfortable getting it in against his range. Villain was running 65/22 over 50ish hands. With his overbet flop raise there was obviously no fold equity and I was either folding or shoving(essentially calling his all in). He had been slowing down with top pair type hands so I was very confident with his raise he didn't have a K. My line was that he had a marginal 8 or 9 or maybe a smaller open ender. That gave me 14 outs the majority of the time with having 11outs or being ahead a small frequency. That meant i needed about 1.2/1 to make the call and took the gamble. I am disappointed because I should of just folded the flop and just waited for a better spot against such a poor player.

www.pokerhand.org/ 2 hands later against the same guy. Against this player in this situation I am never finding a fold, even with his 3 bet. He was just so maniacal that I am crushing his range and if he has a better hand so be it.

A few poorly played winners......

www.pokerhand.org/ I had been picking on this player at my other tables and been very active on this table, so I thought he could of been 3 betting a little light. He had also shut down when his hands bricked so I wanted to peel a flop and see what he did. When he bet the $40 on the flop I have to raise him here. I knew I made a mistake as soon as I checked, I just feel into robot mode where I call and pray for a 2nd barrel to appear. On his flop bet if he bricked he is shutting down and I don't feel I will be able to extract any more value. So i think I need to raise to try to get it in against a 99+ plus hand or a flush draw without allowing a scare card to hit. Luckily he fired the turn and I was able to get it in.

www.pokerhand.org/ On the flop I had his range at A9-AQ, flush draw or maybe 33, but I think with 33 he is going to raise the A high board giving me credit for a strong ace with an EP raise and c-bet trying build and get it in n the flop or turn. AK probably raises PF or on the flop trying to build. The turn hit his range hard so I slightly overbet the flop trying to get maximum value out of a medium ace or maybe have hm interpret it as weak and play back. When the river bricked I again slightly overbet the pot trying to get the most value because he is probably not folding a medium ace here, I thought about raising but didn't want to lose value from a A9 type hand.

Challenge Update

Todays results

1/2NL (6 max) 310 hands $41.10 3.31 BB/100

1/2NL (full ring) 1,594 hands $770.55 12.09 BB/100

Day's Totals 1,904 hands $811.65 10.66 BB/100

Challenge Totals 3,569/20,000 hands $1,304.05 9.13 BB/100

I am dissapointed with my overall play so far, my descion making has been suspect and I am still tilting a little. Even though my win rate is alright I am not playing up to my expectation and if I hit some cold decks right now I think it ay get ugly.
