Long day...But good session

Pretty good session tonight. Although it did feel kind of swingy. I'll get back to the session in a second.

This morning I had my second day working with this guy Daniel. Super nice guy. The only down fall is that he is super buy doing a bunch of other jobs so he left me all alone for the second day in a row doing this job by myself. I won't get into boring details of what the job entailed but let's just say I did a lot of carrying doors in and our of this customers house. Ended up working for 12 straight hours. The weird thing is I didn't mind it at all. I guess it's just because of the simple fact that I didn't have someone hovering over me all day telling me what to do. The job was my responsibility and I am very pleased with how it turned out. The homeowner came up to me and told me if I ever needed a job referal to use him because he was very impressed with my quality of work and my work ethic. Made me feel pretty good. Daniel seemed very pleased with the amount of work i did by myself and I'm pretty sure he plans on using me again once he slows down and gets a grasp on things. He's basically just too busy to take me under as one of his main workers due to my inexperience in the field. Not to mention I dont have all the necessary tools yet to be a self contracted carpenter.

So after all that work I left the customers house around 7:30. The girlfriend wasn't home at the time so I decided I'd swing by her dads to have a couple beers before I went home. Beer sounded really good. Anyways so hung out there for an hour or so, came home showered then sessioned it up. Like I said, the session felt super swingy. I definetly didn't feel like I was running good. But for once the talbes seemed super fishy. I eneded up sitting at the table with around 600 big blinds along with 80/20 guy with more than me. And it wasn't a deep table! Unfortunately I never was able to get into a big pot with him. I'm sure I ended up taking enough from him though little by little. Here's some of the hands from tonight.

By the way, never got around to reading my new book. Got caught up watching that "Intervention" program on TV. Something about watching people who have a horrible life is somehow entertaining. Pretty sick.

Ok, this is my biggest winning hand of the night. I'll agree, it makes no sense. This guy was out of line at the table. I know my play is totally questionable but hey, whatever I read his soul haha. I decided to 3 bet him pre-flop. I would have been happy with a fold, but he didn't. I then decided to float him on the flop to see what he'd do. Then bink the turn hit and somehow pulled a value bet on the river. One of the weirdest hands I'ver ever played. Either way I honestly don't like it.

I three bet this guy quite a bit before this hand so I figure he'd get it in light. I know this is questionable to due to his stack. But I was willing to gamble a bit with him because I thought he would be fed up with my 3 bets.

Wow I'm thinking to myself as I post these. I am a donkey. None of these hands are any good so far. This hand I only called the pre flop raise because the original raiser was going crazy every hand the the other guy at the table was 400 big blinds deep. I was right along with him as far as chips go so I was just trying to get into hands with him and take a huge pot. Turns out I didn't battle with either of them.

Aces were flying tonight.

I thought I was behind on this hand becasue this guy didn't seem to get out of line too much. But I can't ever fold here.

Alright i think I've posted enough I'm getting tired it's almost 4 am. There's some more losing hands but nothing crazy. Lost a few coinflips but won some too. Good session in all. PEACE

First Blog Post...EVER!

So this will be my first blog entry ever! I'm not really planning on many people reading this which is fine. I'm more excited to use this for myself . I'm thinking this will keep me motivated and in-line. I'm not gonna say a whole lot about myself in this first post just because I don't have the patience right now hah.

Anyways today was the first time I worked in a long time. I believe it's been about 3 weeks or longer. To be honest, it actually felt pretty good to get out and do something other than watch TV, play video games, sit around and do nothing, or going to the casino. The feeling of going somewhere and getting guaranteed money is a good thing, unlike poker heh. This guy who I worked with was a pretty cool guy. Hopefully I can keep working under him doing carpentry work. The only thing that worries me is him keeping me busy. I'm glad to get out of the "shop" atmosphere. It's nice to have the freedom going to a job and not having a foreman or somebody else breathing down your back. So we'll see where that job goes.

Other than that I didn't do much today. I tried to put in a small session about a hour ago but that completely went to shit. I was playing we'll and running bad at first. And then my girfriends brother came on a couple of my tables and was three betting my pre-flop raises a ton so I got fed up with it and tilted calling his raises out of position with garbage hands. So I lost 3 buy-ins like a donkey would do and I decided to stop.

I just picked up a copy of "The Poker Mindset". I'm gonna go start reading that in a bit.

Hand Histories.

Getting it in good with aces.

I thought my hand was in good shape with this guy. I was right. Didn't matter.

Set mining against my girlfriends brother. Like I said he was 3 betting me like crazy. I think I should have played this hand differently, I might have folded the best hand. Just couldn't get myself to commit anymore money to this hand. I am a donkey.
