So...some resolutions and goals

So this is my 3rd summer as a 'professional' poker player. It also marks the 3rd summer that I was down for the series. I did have some near hits and played quite better than in previous years, but still, results are results.

So...i have a few resolutions for for the following year leading to next summer.

1. Stop being results oriented.

Yea. I'm really bad about this . Still! Poker's about decisions yada yada i've told myself and heard it enumberable times, but it 's an axiom that is sooooo so important to follow imo.

2. Be more balanced.

So...sometimes i find myself just wasting time. Either railing tournaments or reading and rereading threads daily. This time has no doubt helped my poker play.
Butttt, as a human being, I need to really gain perspective on other things. Ie...i love to cook...or singing to my daughter, taking my nephew to skateboard or bowling.
w/e just something to get me from the poker mindframe for some part of my day.
"Life's about moderation" my mom used to preach ...but i haven't practiced in awhile in regards to this poker thing.

3. Have fun playing and keep perspective.

There were times this summer where i was like "god i don't want to go play a 1500 plhe /nl event, puke!"

LOL how fucking ignorant is that! LOL I "M A lucky mf'er to be able to have the situation i have and be able to play these tournaments and this game i love.

I remember not too long ago that I was playing the freeroll bar tournaments around town with my brother just dreammmmmming of being able to play a 500$ event at the isle of capre. MUCH LESS THE WSOP OMFG.

I"M SOOOO LUCKY TO GET TO PlaY THIS gAME AND jUSTIFY IT AS MY profession.

So some goals.

1. Profit 1mm in mtt's over the next 11 months.

WHY THE HELL NOT. Play alot, play good and just go for it ya know.

2. be a 200avg bowler/ qualify for a pba tour event.

random but its a fun hobby that i'm aight at.

3. start a small catering business by may 2009.

i love cooking and eating.

kinda random thread but i wanted to state this stuff publicly and be accountable for it.

Hey

new to the site and love what i've seen. I think that there are already marked improvements in my game that i can just intuitively feel, though the results are there yet (lol 1 week in). so anyway, i'll probably start doing this. I started a blog two years ago on blogspot but never updated it after the 1st few weeks. maybe it was b/c of a downswong .....hmmmmm.
