There is a good chance this will bore you but I felt like writing out my history for once. This started in 2003.
I used to be a daily to weekly blogger over the last 3 years but recently haven't blogged hardly at all. It all started when I was 16. I saw Chris "Jesus" Ferguson win the WSOP Main Event. That was my first experience with poker and from there I started to play online as did my father. We started off with play chips on Ultimate Bet and finally my dad made his first deposit. He would play the $1 MTT's daily and I would watch along with playing freerolls and play chip games. When I was at school one day my dad won the $1 MTT finally and from there he gradually took off to building a roll. My first time seeing how much potential there was in this game was when I was 17 and he got 2nd in a $20 mtt on party poker for 4500. That was when I got my mom to deposit $50 into my account and I of course gave her $50 I earned working at the local bowling center. I lost it slowly but surely playing $5 sit and go tournaments.
It wasnt til I was 18 that I made my first deposit on my own. I was old enough to deposit myself and I got a credit card too. I deposited $600 on to pacific and party poker. It was the maximum my credit card would allow me to put on. I tried grinding .25/.5 limit cash games but slowly it got down to about $95 when I won my first MTT. It was a $5 limit mtt and I wanted to quit because I only had 1k at the break when you start with 3k. Somehow I went hot and won it for $675. That was the most exciting day of my poker career at that point. I remember telling my friends at school the next day and they thought it was play money or I was lying. I kept on grinding the cash games and of course my roll got down to $200 again. My dad is still doing very well online and his roll is prob around 10-20k. One day I entered a $10 mtt no limit mtt and got 2nd for 1100 which brought my roll over 1k for the first time. At this point I was a freshman in college and still working at the local bowling center.
One day at work in November I got into an argument at work and quit my job in hopes of relying on poker. I quickly got down to $600. I won a $20 mtt for $2800 that month and for some reason in December with a roll around $3500 I entered a $109 mtt on party and got 2nd for $8200. I had about 50 of my friends railing the final table and I remember waking my dad up to tell him my huge score. I took about 4k off for a trip to vegas for a junior bowling tournament and for some new toys. Over the next 6 months I kept staying profitable but for the first time I had money and thus traveled to every national junior bowlign event because it was fun. As you know traveling was expensive and after a while my bad bankroll management caught up to me and I was down to $400 and about $500 in bills every month. I had a huge phone bill, direct tv in my room, every poker training site subscription, and other random monthly subscriptions. I needed to turn things around and fast.
