well, pissed off the PLO forum I'd imagine

Blog by : pjj

Well, I was about done posting in the forums just because it causes me to rely to much on others. But since I was getting into PLO I decided to start posting again. But I got mad at them tonight and told them to fuck themselves. So, guess I'm done posting there. No one would help me again even if I did ask :P But whatever, I'll do better figuring things out myself. I am happy to converse with anyone on a private basis about hands through skype or MSN though. So feel free to hit me up if you want to discuss a hand. Just figured I'd let ya'll know I'm done for the most part with the forums.

Poker has gone ok this month. I've run better than I should have so I can't complain. PLO is alot of fun and I'm enjoying that. Put in a bunch of hands today. A bunch of hands being a relative term since it's hard to play as many at PLO.

Other than that I'm in good health so what can I say?

Take care all

not much poker

Blog by : pjj
0

Not much poker lately. Played some 1st half of month but haven't hardly played during the last week. We've been buying horses and building fence over the last week. We bought two horses that we liked. A 2 year old palomino that still needs to be trained and a 4 year old thouroughbred that rides pretty well. I've claimed the thouroughbred for myself and love her already. She's over 16 hands tall and so pretty. I haven't named her yet. I don't want to name her anything like star or patches or little blackie or anything like that. I'm still trying to come up with a good name. I'm excited about the horses. I've been wanting to get a horse for a long time. I'm so glad to be out of the city and able to do "country" stuff again.

So I've been thinking alot about what I'd do if poker ends. I'm sure this is something alot of poker players think about. Well, first off, I could't stand doing the normal 8-5 office job. I also coultn't handle manual labor for 40 hours a week. I've got a few different ideas but I'm not sure what I'd really enjoy. I feel like I should be taking more advantage of the extra time I am afforded in my life learning/preparing for a different life path. "Do what you love" is what you hear all the time. I'm really not sure what it is I actually love though. Sometimes I think I would just take the Office Space theory of "nothing". But I would feel very lazy if I did that. A book that has made me think alot is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. It's a book I would definintely recommend to anyone thinking about what they want to do in life.

I have started learning guitar and want to start taking piano lessons again. I really enjoy music though i suck at playing or singing as of now. Learning to play an instrument is something I wish I had stuck with earlier in life and now I'm really planning on persevering and sticking out the learning process.

Okay, and now I'm goign to leave you with a great movie quote. I think I'm goign to start ending my posts this way. For tonight it was a line I always liked and after driving from Las Vegas to Dallas to KC in a convertible mustang with my roommate it's even better after witnessing the country. Here you go-

"There's no law west of Dodge and no God west of the Pecos"

Taking a break from NLHU

Blog by : pjj

Been in a downswing/breakeven stretch for awhile now. No, nothing like you're breakeven stretch Ecart but still frustrating. It's been effecting me to much emotionally so I"m taking a break from NLHU. Been hitting the PLO games lately. And as surprising as it sounds the varience hasn't bothered me to much yet. I think mentally I'm more prepared to just get sucked out on everytime. I mean, I'm never really that far ahead so how can I be mad about losing right? Anyway, i'm not sure how it's gone so far. Trying not to pay as much attention to results. But I've been enjoying it so far. We'll just have to wait and see. If anyone out there wants to talk PLO with me let me know.

My brother comes into town tomorrow for a week or so. Should be alot of fun since we're really close. I always have a great time hanging out with him. We were really close growing up and have been able to stay close even as we grow older. He was my best friend growing up and still is.

My sister is going to Australia for 6 months in a week or so. That's weird. We're not as close. She's 10 years younger than me but still.....I'm going to miss her. I hope everything works out well for her. She's going on a mission trip and will be spending time in Australia, South Africa and either The Phillipines or India. That's pretty wild for an 18 year old. But I'm a big believer in people traveling and seeing the world so what can I say?

Alright, well I hope poker has been treating you well. If not then hopefully life has.

John

Been awhile

Blog by : pjj

Hey all,
Been a bit since i"ve wrote. Made it to Ireland. Was some fun. Not the best trip I've ever took. In fact my least favorite of all my overseas trips. Oh well, still learn alot about yourself when you travel so I guess it's worth it.

Had a sucky month in May. Maybe broke even. Spent most of my time moving and traveling and losing money when i did play. I plan on logging alot more hours in June. Might be playing more 6m and PLO also. I'm tired of the varience in HU for now. I tilt emotionaly and mentally and it's no good for my life. I'm working on it though. I think I'm also going to spend less time on the forums so don't expect much out of me. If you want to ask me a question then find me on skype or msn. I'm happy to talk strategy there.

I'm in Dallas right now with my brother and gf's brother. We drove from Las Vegas to Dallas in my gf's brothers mustang convertible which was kinda fun. His car runs a bit warm though so it was slightly uncomfortable during the middle of the day with the windows down. In the mornings and evening we ran with the top down. We swung down through Yuma and then to Tombstone and took interstate 8 to 10 and then 20 to 30 ending up in Dallas last night. On a side note we had to stop several times for Border Patrol stations that were set up along the highways. I've decided they are pretty worthless IMO. They are like the TSA with guns- Pointless.

Played some 6m today since my brother and gf's brother both play 6m for a living. Got the chance to get some feedback from them. Went well and was up $500 today.

My quarterly tax payment is comig up which is always annoying. I grew up poor and we always got money back rather than paying taxes. So it's nice to be able to actually make enough to have to pay taxes but it's a bitch to actually have to pay them. Bit confusing what i said but i think ya'll got it.

Watched SNL tonight with Justin Timberlake hosting and thought it was pretty funny. If anyone hasn't seen his Motherlovers skit with Andy Samburg you should definitely check it out. I think it's so damn funny.

Time to call it a ngiht. Peace all.

John

A pox upon you!

Blog by : pjj

I watched Role Models last night. I wasn't expecting alot from the movie because I thought the trailers I'd seen were somewhat stupid. Fortunatly the movie was much better than the trailers and I got a pretty big kick out of it. It's very quotable which is pretty important IMO and all around pretty funny. Had the same predictable story line as most movies that follow that style but whatever. I wasn't watching for the great storyline. Anyway, L.A.I.R.E.......I would be the kind of person that would do that. I have always like fantasy books and movies-Dune, LOTR, Star Wars, Chronicles of Narnia, Stephen Lawhead, etc. And I don't put up a front for being a chill, super cool badass motherfucker. In fact, I'm quite the opposite. There's very little "cool" about me. I think that sort of thing comes natural. And if it doesn't come natural for you, don't even try. There's not much sillier than a guy who's not cool, trying to be. Whether it's your awesome-o clothing/car/etc or you're super chill attitude, please stop. No one really likes you when you are like that. You will get to hang out with a bunch of similar people trying to pull off the same stunts though. I guess if that appeals to you, go for it.

Anway, I got sidetracked. My title for this blog was so named because some mideval motherfucker has wished me harm and now I've got the fucking chicken pox. I went 28 years before this happened. What 28 year old gets chicked pox? I'll tell you this though, if you don't care for someone, don't call them an asshole. Just say, "A pox upon you" and if you actually get your wish you'll be much happier with the results. It's 7:30am and I don't know the last time I was awake at this hour. This is like the very middle of my night. I'm wide awake and scratching myself all over. "don't scratch yourself" Phooey on that. I itch. Obviously my body is telling me to scratch it. I'm trying not to actually scratch. It's more like a very aggressive rub or massage. (stop thinking like that) Well, it's suppose to take like 7-10 days for children to get over this and adults longer. This is just one more reason why getting old sucks.

I'm suppose to go to Ireland with my brother, his g/f, my g/f and her brother on the 7th. It's not looking good right now but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. We were going to spend 2 weeks over there and see the country and get schlitzdogged a few times. Hopefully I can make it for the 2nd half of the trip if nothing else.

Well, I hope all is well with anyone reading this. Take care merry men. And fair maidens if there be any who read this.
