New Blog
A lot has happened since my last Blog post. The Boston Celtics are NBA champs for the first time in 22 years. It was a exciting season, I have been a fan of them for as long as I can remember, and for the most part they have been a horrible franchise. They only won 24 games last year, and they were the 2nd worst team in the NBA. The Celtics are a proud franchise with 16 now (17) banners so I am glad that its not another ten years of being the Bottom Feeders of the NBA.
The weather has been absolutely crazy lately here in the States, Seems like everyday there is a new Tornado of earthquake to report on. Not to mention the Midwest is under water. The Mississippi River has overflowed. That's not good for anyone considering a lot of are food and corn comes from the mid west I know a lot of crops will be lost due to the rain and over flowing of the river. So things will be costing even more in the Supermarkets, Just in the nic of time Gas is at an all time high. I see a lot of people discuss this issue, most are very angry like "How Could This Happen." The next president whether its Obama or McCain has a tough job lined up. The American people are growing tired and restless. Change will come no matter who is in office. If we don't change are ways soon. The economy is going to completely collapse and who knows what will happen after that!
On a lighter note I have played around 13,000 hands this month, at 50NL. I am up 9.5 Buy ins so around $ 475 My goal for the month is to log about 25k hands and be up around 20 Buy Ins. $ 1000 It has def been a swingy month. Glad I also won close to $400 dollars on the Celtics winning the Finals! Ship IT!

This Weekend

From Friday to about Sunday afternoon I have been on pretty much a liquid diet, Consisting of Heinekens and the occasional Irish car Bomb or Vodka and Red bull.
It has been pretty much been a blur, The main reason I have been going out all weekend is My best friend just split from his crazy ex of 3 years and we of course have some catching up to do. Friday night I was out on Scottsdale with 3 buddies of mine, one friend I haven't seen in quite some time, because he was just in Iraq for six months. We went to this club called Axis Radius around 10:30 and let me tell you by 2am I was bouncing off the walls screaming with everyone "WE DON'T NEED NO WATER LET THE MOTHER FUCKER BURN!" This is highly unusual for me, because for the most part I am a pretty low key guy when I go out drinking. We left at 2am and then got a slice of pizza at some NYC pizza place called Joe's. So we were just sitting there minding are own business when a couple of 30 something broads come up and sit with us. We talked with them for a little bit, apparently they were middle school teachers or something and we started discussing religion and (don't ask me why) and deff was a huge mistake! This chick started just slamming religion, I am not Mormon nor am I really religious, however my best friend happens to be a Black Mormon of all things. This chick says "Mormons all have 8 wives and marry 15 year olds;" me being naturally charming come back with "what religion are you?" She says "Catholic" This opens up the floodgates. I now say "So I guess it's safe to say all priests are perverts!" Wow did she not like that statement, because this chick started getting load and confrontational. That's when I figured it was a good time to go before I slapped a bitch. Moral of the story never discuss important things while you are drunk. Saturday started off slow with mainly just waking up with a headache and a real feeling of "man am I already getting to old for this" blah blah blah. Thankfully I snapped out of this and grabbed a beer. In the afternoon me and my friend Jerome went to a bar called RTO. Sullivan's to get some beer and watch the Celtics Vs Pistons game. That was a good time, didn't hurt that My Celtics finally won a dam game on the road. Then we went out to Mill Ave. After the game. My girlfriend came with, this time, so if a chick wanted to get it on! She would have to step in and destroy her. I wasn't in the mood for a club so we all just went to some Irish pub on Mill Ave. Cool spot were everyone is relaxed and listing to live music, much more my liking. Went home around 2am with no drama, to speak of, this is always a plus. Sunday went to go watch the new Indiana Jones movie, with Harrison Ford Chasing around everyone at age 65. It was entertaining but nothing like the old ones. Poker wise I went won a Sunday seat last night playing in a FPP heads up sit in go for it. It was a good thing because I was on a 4 buy in downswing from 50NL for the weekend. So that recovered my losses. My bankroll keeps hovering around $1100-$1500 really annoying. I wanna play about 5,000 hands this week. I am working full time so mainly only play poker on my days off. Well GL to all. Peace,

Lately

I have not played as much online poker as I would have liked to. Only at 6,000 hands on the month at 25NL down 2 buy INS. Right now I am on the verge of breaking $1,000 for the first time I have like $950 in my online Stars acct. I went to Laughlin last week for 4 days; I lost a bit in the cash games and didn't have much success in Trnys either. I am not a big fan of quick blind structures. If you don't double up a few times, it just turns into an All in Game. Before I went on my trip I did maximize my FPP'S on Stars I bought into a 5400 buy in single SAT for a Sunday Million seat, and managed to win that. I cashed it in and decided not to play the big trny. I have the next couple days off from work. So my goal is to play about 3,000 hands and a few trnys. We will see how it goes! I have been stressed out lately with the way the economy has been going. Gas will be $4 dollars a gallon by the end of the summer and the cost of living has gone up, and wages have not followed as quickly. I read a lot of Obama's book the audacity of hope. He has a lot of good ideas for the country, I just hope the man can lead and not succumb to the greed of politics in today's society. The 5 year mark in Iraq has just passed with no end in site. I see more and more people not talk about the War, maybe if they don't talk about it, it will go away for them? But not for me, I have buddies over there. I over heard some one say the other day "it's only like 4,000 deaths nothing compared to past wars were we had 25,000 deaths." With mindsets like this it's no mystery why we are in the mess to begin with.

Back to Full Ring

Been a rough month poker wise have only put in about 2,000 hands down 2 buy INS, but I am running break even overall over the past 10,000 hands. Running break even is frustrating. I played 250 hands last night and dropped almost 2 buy ins. (Hand # 1) AA I absolutely misplayed the hand! I think my post flop play is ok, in till the horrible call I made on the river. It's hard to put anyone on flopped Quads But when the river paired the board, I should have laid my hand down and saved myself half my stack on the river.

(Hand #2) QQ I misplayed this hand Post flop. I think me betting more on the flop with the board having a lot of draws would have been better. I bet 1.75 into a 5.00 dollar pot, it was an awful bet. I think like a 4 dollar bet here would be better. If my bet on the flop was weak, then my check on the turn was were I lost the hand. I think betting 6.50 here would have won me the pot against most players. He caught up on the river and made his straight. http://www.pokerhand.org/?2209343

With this blog I am trying to challenge myself and hold myself accountable. I am going to move back to strictly playing Full Ring and not play Six Max for awhile. I was reviewing my Poker Tracker and I play a more TAG style at Six Max and a more LAG style at full ring. That is def all Wrong. I did have 12 cashes last month in trnys. For me that is a good Month I think I played only about 25. Only one FT 180 man 4th place, also 15th in a 3 dollar trny 943 entrants, lost a coin flip late. The Rest of the month I am going to try and play about 20,000 hands at 25NL full ring, Maximize my wins and Minimize my loses. I am going to Laughlin Nevada next week for 4 days with some friends, going to play a lot of 1-2 NL and some live Trnys should be a great time. My current Bankroll is at $668 so maybe with a decent month I can break $1000 that's the goal anywaysJ

Grinding 25NL

Still on the Grind with 25NL for the week I have put in 3,797 hands and up $86.60 profit, which I am ok with because I had a day were I dropped 4 plus buy ins in about 200 hands! It really tested me mentally so to come back from 4 buy ins to come into the green, I am proud of that. I am still on my pace of 15+ buy ins for the month, right now I am at +9

I also played six trnys this week cashing in 3 of them a $33 74th place, $10 44th place
and a $8 136th place all on stars. I really need to work on my end game and finish some of these out! Overall a pretty good week for poker.

Poker and Politics

Still Running Hot, Only got in about 600 hands yesterday, but was ok because ended up 3 buy ins. So far for the Month I am up 9 Buy Ins a little over 6,000 hands 25 NL. Goal for the month is 15 Buy Ins Hopefully I crush that goal. The play is very weak and if my big Pocket Pairs hold up I seem to always come out ahead. The thing I need to work on more is going over Poker Tracker Stats, and Posting and watching more videos on Card Runners and other forums. This upcoming week I would also like to mix in a few Mtt's joining the Zona Crew site has made me excited to play them again. Seeing all the FT posts.... Hopefully I can hit a big score soon as well. I have 5 out of the next 7 days off from work, so my goal is to get in about 10-12K hands in at 25NL and Make a FT on Stars or Bodog this week 2.
Couple other things I have noticed and felt, there is something going on in the Country in the Obama campaign a real movement for change. I was watching CNN last night and he either is the greatest actor of all time or he is really the man that wants to bring change to the country. When I here Hillary Clinton make her speeches I don't see change I just see more of the same leaders promising and not delivering. Since I have been alive 23 years We have had R.R Bush Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush, and if the people elect Hillary maybe Clinton, Clinton. To me there is Deff something wrong with this picture. For a country that historically can elect anybody as president seems if you're not a Clinton or a Bush, better luck next time. Maybe it's just too late anyhow. Maybe we can't do anything at this point; maybe big business already has us all in a headlock. Maybe the American spirit has gone away to never return? Maybe.... Obama can bring America back form the depth it has sunk since 2001. At this point all I can do is hope for it....

So far this month I have played 5,442 hands and I am running at 2.38/100 BB at 25NL up about 3 buy ins... My goal for the Month is about 25,000 hands and be up 15+buy ins. If I atain my goals for the Mnth I will be fully Rolled for 50NL and that will make me happy for the time being. I am off to a home poker game here in Mesa tonight, just a 20 buy in most of the time its a good time...

I have 50 on the Boston Celtics tonight (my Fav team) but there currently geting beat by the Wolves AKA ... (Celtics of last year) :) Hopefully they can rally in the 2nd half, KG has missed the past 5 games and they are 3-2 without him so he has been a huge lose to the team.

Royal Flush!!!

The other night I got a Royal flush! and A straight Flush like 5 min after each other. I didnt win much on the hands but its still Obi. cool to get them!

Patriots lost..... 18-1 and for as good as we are and have been, will only be remembered as the best team not to win the super bowl.... This is just a huge lose. How do they get up for next years season after this huge letdown!!

Negitive Play? Negitive Varience?

My negitive downswing hasn't gone away and just seems like the end of the world is near! I know part of playing winning poker is playing with your emotions in check, I am begining to think this is one of the hardest things in poker to overcome. More then likely that seperates winning players from the losers. I am a very competive person like all of us are, my problem is I only see results session by session and I dont look at the big picture while I am sitting at the table. I need to work on this if I ever have a shot at getting through any limit. My bankroll is at $625 and I am still up about 6 buy ins on the month so far. Currently I am on a 8 buy in downswing and it really depressing just becasue I have took alot of coolers. Also I have made a few mistakes with not laying down Big Pocket pairs on the river.....

This Guy was a mainic pushing all in Pre flop everyhand I woke up with a hand that was deff ahead of his range here is how it goes:) Hand #2002926 Ouch!!!! I know thats just part of poker and is the reason this game is profitable to begin with but with my current state of mind it still hurt!

One hand I think I played very well Hand #2002484 I would say that this guy over valued his hand in this spot.

So tonight I played about 300 hands and cant continue for the night! I prob misplayed the hands but at this point I am just pissed off. Over the past week I just cant seem to win a dam thing. Bankroll $ 660 down over 4 buy ins over the past 4,000 hands. Hopefully people stop hitting sets against my Big Pocket pairs for a few hands would be a switch.

I lost all of these hands like within twenty hands of eachother I prob chould of gotten away from atleast two of these hands if not all three. Calling all the way down when I knew I was already beat was just very awfull. I guess just was on tilt and couldnt believe the bad luck. I will try to learn from it, and hopefully have a positive session tomorrow.
