Hey guys,
I guess i'll call this my New Years Resolution.....Starting a Blog (and keeping it updated)! This is also probably my first New Years Resolution I've made in years, always thinking they are kind of pointless and no one ever really follows through with them. This is the year I will put that last statement to rest though, maybe.
I don't really want to give you my life story, and don't really think anyone cares so here's kind of a rundown of who I am:
Name: Jarrod Pelkofer Age: 24 yrs old Location: Milwaukee, WI (suburb: Hales Corners)
Spent 1 year at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and 1.5 years at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse played basketball and partied too much at both.... no degree yet, but one my main goals is to go back and get it. Currently: Employed at company called Tankstar USA in thier Billing and Pricing Dept. (It pays the bills, but bores me to death way too much, hence why I need to get back to school. Fun Fact: I am a lead singer in a cover band called "Failure to Launch" we pretty much play everything from classic rock to hip hop (not a done of hip hop right now, but I am hoping we do more) here is link to our website that is kind of just being created www.failuretolaunch.jimdo.com
Poker Career: Started on Party, deposity 50 lose 50, deposity 50 lose 50.... that whole deal.
Got into MTT's had lots of succes in Dec. 2007 - March 2008 but due to bad bankroll mgmt and lack of effort put into game led to my demise.
Which brings me here: I've more recently (last month or two) have been playing more cash, particularly HU, with some moderate success.. So, I guess I'm starting this blog to really keep me focused on poker, make goals for myself, and make sure I'm working hard to achieve those goals.
January Goals:
- Play 20,000 hands of .25/.50 HU
- Profit $1000
- Go through and study just about every session played
- Become more active in the poker community
Yes, I've started off pretty basic, but I have to start somewhere. I'd also like to develop more friends in the poker community, so if there are any low stakes grinders (or anybody for that matter) out there looking to talk poker hit me up or look me up on facebook, idk something like that.
Oh by the way, Happy New Year everybody! It's New Years Eve and I for one am ready party! (Even though the majority of the time it seems very overrated).... but once again, maybe I can put that statement to rest as well!
