Yeah, I'm really happy right now. I am had a -3K downswing last month, and am on a 3 week vacation this month. I'm not playing any poker at all, and i will be totally fresh and ready to take on the world come Jan. Also, come Jan I will be picking up a student for extensive in depth coaching. I cant wait, it should really improve my game. Also, I am dating a really good girl right now, so despite my massive down swing, things are really looking up for the new year.

Eh...i don't even know why. I ran bad, then for some stupid reason i tilted off 1.5bi....then i quit. Then I played on a different site, and lost another 3 buyins. Eh...sux. I haven'nt played. I decided to take a day off. I will remain tilt free. Tilt is stupid.

Still Runnin Awesome

{mosimage}So far over the last 12K hands at absolute poker I have been crushing. I have been both running well, and making excellent reads. Like value betting TPTK for entire buyins, getting donks to stack off to me, double barreling when I think villian is on a draw etc. All these things are basic poker, but for me they were very hard to calibrate. Especially when to double barrel. There is so much to consider. You have to first consider what villian has...flush draw, second pair, top pair weak kicker, and his chance of folding it. then you have to figure out how your hands fair vs his range of hands. Sometimes you will have a draw, and sometimes you will have air, and sometimes you have "a little something". sometimes it pays to turn your weak made hands into bluffs and other times it does not. So this means you need to decide on how much showdown value you have. While these things may seem simple...they really aren't.......I am finally gettin really good at them. At this rate, i'll be done paying on my car in no time. SWEET!.

Teaching Poker

Blog by : olliepower

I have taught a number of my friends how to play poker. I only produced one winner though. I do this for free and all my friends hear about the days i win 1K plus or how i can make 50$ an hour. I teach them to play, dedicate several hours of my life to them ad then they decide poker is boring and too much work. I really am convinced avg joe lacks the dedication necessary to learn to play poker. It really annoys me that the beg me to teach them how to play and then they just give up. Only one person reads the books i tell him to, and actively discusses hands and situations with me. He activly askes me questions, and counters my answers. He makes me a better play as I teach him how to play. That is what i like. I just bothres me that some how peopel think it is Easy money. I make it seem easy cause I don't have a gambling problem and can deal witht the losses. People dont see me behave any differently on a day to day basis if i loose 1k+, which has happened btw. The money is not easy, adn the swings can be sickning. I plan on coaching up to 100NL and charging about 50$/hr. I teach them for free and they don't even try to win. Bastards.

poker is stupid swingy

I have been posting actively on the forums. I plan to do more of this. For a very long time I have been very against forums. I see tons of really bad advice dispensed out, I post hands and get lame answers like you played well, or NH, or Fold.....and the explation is like 2 sentences long on good ones. People who write poker books can write a page about a hand or they can write more illustrating a particular subject. Insead of just being complacent about the state of forums, I plan to make several quality posts a day. In doing so i will be helping other players get better -ev, but hopefully it wil expand my knowledge of the game as well and it will be very +ev for me. Yeah, as some of you know i bought a car and plan to pay for everythign with poker money. over a small 8K hand sample size the most insne things have happened. Look at the swings......uggg more reason to prove that tilt is worthless and that bad beats come and go....and eventually you will trimuph. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/ollilepower/first7Kofcar.jpg

Ok, I guess i will be blogging her at CR. I'll see how much i like it. Seems to me like CR has turned into a bit of a walmart of poker. One stop and you can get everything you want. Videos, advice in forums, go shopping, chat with your buddies....everthing you could want...all at one convient low price. Granted, since the site has grown, video quality has been variable. At the beginning they were all EXCELLENT quality videos, and now it is common to hvae a few vids come out a week that are tottally jacked.....but its ok.. I love cr, and always will .
