Golf Showdown!

0

Sorry for the lack of updates.

I checked my computer and I actually have about ten half-written blogs that I never finished, including one right after the news of Stars/FTP broke, so maybe I'll post one of those next week when I find time to complete one.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Tomorrow, my Club Championship starts at my club. We had qualifying last week and the top 8 players advanced to the one-on-one tournament bracket match play which begin tomorrow.

Players were seeded by qualifying score and the defending champion is default #1 seed. Lucky me - I sucked pretty badly during qualifying and I get the privilege to play him in my first match.

I've got some high hopes heading into tomorrow for a few reasons:

- My scores weren't really indicative of how well I played during qualifying. I made a few big numbers on some holes which artificially inflate the perception of the state of my game.
- With that said, I'd imagine I'm playing the worst among the remaining field. Some are playing way above their EV and it's unlikely to last while a couple (myself included) are playing below EV. Of course this is 100% my own opinion so maybe I don't give enough credit.

Me and my opponent have a little history too. We tend to bicker back and forth and don't really get along. For that reason, a win tomorrow would really make this tournament a sweet success, regardless of whether I win the actual title on Sunday or not.

I intend to do some live-Tweeting during the match so if you need a mini-sweat while at work, I tee off at 2p ET, follow @alexjhuang for some play-by-play. #LETSGO!

Wish me luck!
