hi back again and hope for good

Hi guys long time very no blog, my new years resolutions were a complete fail lets have a look at them for comedy sake

1. play at 100nl and be properly roll on 2 different sites
2. post more in forums (start at 3 hands a week)

lesser important ones.
1. have a 3k poker live bankroll
2. talk more poker hands in blogs
3. have PTR have me in the green on every limit i played

ok so far everything is a big fail i posted no hands posted no blogs my PTR has got worse and I'm further in the red lol. But I care not because its only I quarter of the year in and there is time to recover.

I have not blog in a while mostly because my work has taken so much time up. So I'm hoping to fix this i do like blogging and I do feel I lost allot of a connection with card runners and poker generally since i started my personal training course (which is almost done booooo YAAAAAAA). I do feel this loss from the poker world has affected my game. i never noticed it before but my lack of effort in my poker studies and the constant idea i had to get x points each day. Has done more damage to my game than good. I played way to many tables because i wanted to get the points but the quality of the volume is like the equivalent of a 1 out 10 on (10 being the highest)

Hear are results below. (Lets thank got rake back and bonuses exist.)

I'm taking a few days of from poker to focus on my game look for leaks and that lot I start again on Monday. I try to fit a blog in before then.

Mt Micro and aims for 2010

hi

so i not blogged in a loong time most of that is because im a real lazy git. and say one thing and put it off till last minuet. well thats goner change! with 2010 coming round the corner i started to think about all the things i want and reli need. well as u can imagin this thinking made me relise that im way to lazy to be able to get all of hese things without changng my ways. so my new years resolution is to become more pro active in everything. so from now on when i say something i will do it instantly.

now for poker
as i reflect on the past year i have had a very up and down year mostly down but reching some high points and withdrawing a few times. i think after rake back im like up a little hard to say but the most important thing is im still able to play this game. now im not going to plan my year out for poker but i like to have 2 thing accomplished by 2011. and many things i would like done but are waly less important.

number 1 is the most important i need to get out of mount micro and to make it to 100nl this year will be the first stepping stone to seeing some serious dollars. and i will be posting all stats and stuff throughout my time at mount micro. im thinking i spent enough time down at base camp(10nl) i can now just aim to cruise through. now i had a discussion with a friend and we both notised i lost the most money whein i 5 tables + so i will no longer play any more than 4 tables in 1 session. once i reech 100nl it will will be building a roll size to be real comfortable with the limit im thinking 8k and anything over will be withdrawn.

number 2 is real important too. when i first joined CR i was postng hands often then i got lazy and stopped all together so i will be posting hands in my blog and on the fourms more often. i start with 3 or so post a week and see if i can build on that (eeeez in to it lol)

number 1 on the lesser ones im not so fussed about but i think it would be nice to have money for live poker that dont cut into my earnings or savings. and even though our home games we play $0.05/$0.10 blinds the smallest game in a casino is $100nl. and if i never ever go to the casino in 2010 ( which im sure i will) i will be able to put the money towards a deposit for a apartment. but thats for another blog.

number 2 in the lesser important ones is i suppose a thing i can do with a bit of flexability if im posting in the forums. but i feel that i never post anything other than Aims and storys so it would be nice to get a couple of hh in there next year.

number three is so not important but i think it would be nice to see it all green so i will play 2nl and those other silly limits at my own leasure.


i will reset my hem data base and see 2009 out with a massive rave up at pasha night club in london. if any cr members are going PM it would b nice to see ya.

couple of life questions

Hi
Been thinking about allot about things that are coming up in my life. Got a few questions I post to you guys.
Let's start with poker, now at the start of the month I started off thinking I could easily 8 table 10nl and grind even at a 2ptbb/100 over a decent sample of hands. There were several reasons I thought I could do 8 tables.
1 I thought at 10nl it would take a astronomical time to make the normal iron man status that I get. So 8 tabling would speed that up.
2 I thought a simple ABC poker can still win at 10nl.
3 more hands would mean more rake back. So I got to 25nl quicker.
Well anyway this has not been the case. I do know on day 2 I did spew a bit but on the rest of the day for the month I had some serious coolers and bad beats. Well I'm now goner throw my iron man out the window and go for the money and do 4 tables from now on. I played today and I don't feel I did anything different from what I was doing when I was 8 tabling, and I happen to make 3.5 buying. But in terms of reads and me playing position and three betting it was all the same. Do you think I ran though some bad variance or not. Well being stuck 18 buying I have a nice task to climb myself out of it.
Anyway moving on... I have been thinking about what I do day to day, I have noticed I got in a rut. I get up late go teaching and training and then stay up late playing poker and go bed late. Now I've not been eating that great either so I intend to change all of this! I'm going to start by going to bed earlier and get up at 8 I start there and work on getting up earlier. I'm quite bad on getting up in general, do any of you guys have any ideas or tips and tricks that help you get up in the morning. I'm going to work on going to the gym every day doing either cardio or a muscular endurance training program. (I'm fit but I guess extra training won't hurt) and I'm going to cut out all garbage food and caffeine so no more tea for me. (This should help me sleep better)
Now I need a second job obv I'm goner become a gym instructor because I not become a full personal trainer yet. I need to go out this week and put my CV out. I have allot I need to save for and some current saving plans have been put on pause but I get to that in a second. Since going to Vegas last month and tearing it up I like to start saving for another trip there but I don't want to do it on the cheep so I will need some serious cash for a 7 day holiday there.
Now karate is a interesting one. As of late my club has a plot of land in the form of a building which we are to call our own. My boss wants to bring in many new things to the club with day time classes and other martial arts. She wants me to write the syllabus for the kickboxing and she given me the option weather I want to have a gym of my own in there. Now I not talked the gym through completely but from my understanding I be running the gym weather that means I get most of the gym fees I don't know. My concern hear is weather this is a +EV play because its hard to get into a gym in the first place so a guaranteed placement will be great, but on the flip side I won't really know how good a pt I am until I mix it up with the best and other personal trainers. What do you guys think? Well thats all for now. I prob blog my other thoughts Wednesday.

welcome to degen city!

Just got back from Vegas and though I tell you guys about my trip. This was my first time in Vegas and will not be my last. I loved the place; there was so much to do and so little time to do it in. Every day was like a rush of adrenalin, and now I sit back in my room wishing I could go back again.
I give you guys a day by day run though
Day 1 Saturday
Saturday was probably one of the least busy days as we had to fly out from Gatwick airport in London. We had a mid day sort of flight and landed about 3pm Vegas time. Our flight was on a premium economy seats by virgin active, now I say if you ever do a 9+ hour flight at min go premium economy. The service was awesome and the room between chairs was more than enough. Each seat had little food rest and the whole chair reclined back so you can sleep comfortably. I watch 3 films on the flight.
Ok so we arrive in Vegas and check in to ceasers place now as far as I was concerned the 5 star hotels I have stayed in were looking like run down slums compared to the Vegas strip hotels. The rooms were great in the tower where we stayed in the resort. By the time we got unpacked and had some food in what became our local buffet, I and Clark decided to go play some poker in the card room. Now for some odd reason they had $1-$3 going and $2-$5 going in both holdem and PLO I decided to buy in for $200 from that point on and made that my buy in max for the trip each time I sat down. Now the poker was soft there was so much limp/calling going on and next to no three betting. I think I could have beaten the game with my eyes closed. I found that all the players would min raise top pair or second pair to find out where they are in the hand. And no one ever raised flush draws or strait draws. It was like everyone (event the regulars) had no concept of fold equity. I can't remember any hands exactly but I made myself $250 playing a nits game. And that was the general style at which I played. I supposed I could have played looser but I think when everyone was being loose passive stations a simple take them to value town strategy was best.
Day 2 Sunday
Ok so with a nice win on day one and for some reason getting up for breakfast with the family we decided to go on down to the Bellagio and I have to say that hotel is nice. Me and Clark decided to go to see bobby room, I was somewhat disappointed to see how small it was I guess I imagined it to be some huge room like they have on poker after dark. We decided to play some poker seeing as we were there and this was like 11am so it was kind of degen like. I think I was like $15 down but I didn't really get to sit down long because the wait list was quite long, and me and Clark said we would go do some shopping with my ma and pa at 12
Little later than planned we went to what's called premier outlet was like a shopping mall to me but apparently it was a kind of ware house mall with cheaper prices. We went in lots of shops and I probably ended up spending all my winning+ more at the shops. I paid for some on card so I still had dollars for food, cabs and drink. We decided we were going to go watch the jersey boy's show later that night so we went over to the Venetian and booked that up for $145 per person. We had dinner and got dressed about 5pm so we could get to the show with plenty of time. Now the jersey boys show was awesome. I'm a huge fan of theatre and the way the director put the performance together was very good, the story was constantly moving forward and everything flowed well. I would hugely recommend seeing it.
After the show Clark and I went to CP club called PURE now the club was ok it was a shame it was not its busiest night and that only the outside bar was open to us. We got in free which was a bonus, and the music was good quite a mix mostly hip hop and RNB which for me was very strange to dance to. Many drinks later this drunken girl comes up to us and starts chatting to us, now I not had much experience with Americans most have been friendly and kind but I not met one as blunt as this girl was. Someone PM me on this are Americans blunt do they say what they think??. Well anyway I let my beer goggles get the better of me this time and ended back at her hotel. I must say I didn't realise she was crazy until I started to soba up and she asked if we could get married. I got out of there so fast. (OBV did it subtly and pretended Clark got thrown out of PURE)
Well I get back to my hotel only to find I can't get in my room because Clark has put the indoor latch on. So after screaming and banging the door down I decide to accept the fact I'm not goner go sleep at any point tonight so I might as well play poker. Lucky for me there was 1 game still running I sat down with $180 and decided to see if I can grind drunk even till 6.30 am then I could go to breakfast. I actually manage to win another $250 which was a awesome result for me. And when 6am rolled round I went for breakfast and then got into my room and fell asleep for a bit.
Day 3 Monday
After a little sleep Clark and I went to the gun range, we both tried out a bog standard 9mm hand gun. I thought it was good value for money go like 20 shots with it for 25 dollars. I was surprised how much recoil those things have on them, I was thinking of having a go at a magnum after but decided against it when I could just about handle a 9mm. We went round some of the hotels and casinos for most of the day was allot of walking and cabs. We got back to CP had a little sleep and went to New York New York for dinner. I had what I considered a big stake but was actually tiny in comparison to what some people ordered. I don't understand how some people can eat so much!. After dinner clark and I put in some hands at the poker table and I made about $100. And hit the sac
Day 4 Tuesday
On Tuesday we went round to three casinos the Wynn the stratosphere and the Luxor. Now the Wynn was real smart every detail was taken care of and the service at the bars and casino was to the highest degree. You can tell that your dollars are well spent in that hotel.
The stratosphere was cool we went up to the upstairs restraint and had a drink and looked at the view. We were going to do the rides but it was too windy we were not allowed on them.
The Luxor was ok I think it was my least favourite hotel. I was not a fan of the Egyptian look, I been told there modernising it and turning it into what called THE POINT.
After all that I went to the shopping mall and spent some money on the edd hardy clothing line. Then me and Clark ordered room service and got ready to go out to PURE again for the final time. We didn't cue up for long and again we got in free. The night was awesome me and Clark got way to drunk for our own good and Clark manage to get thrown out. I up load some pics because they show a better story.

summery vegas was awesome. The women are hot the weather is great the games are soft and the amount you can do out there is awesome. Next time I go for a week and hope to get more in than I did this time.

going to vagas!!

hi

just a quickie. me and my friend clark will be going to vagas for 5 days. i fly out october 24th if anyone wants to meet up pm me. also if anyone can suggest stuff to do what to see and where to go especally dinners. that would be helpfull

poker been going well so far im getting my self back on my feet. i withdrew to 30 buyins at 10nl and then relised rackback came in the next day so was happy to see $50 go in. then over last 2 days i manage to make 5 buyins which is nice. i also deposited $50 on stars and have set my self a challenge to grind 2nl and 5nl and 10nl all theway up to 100nl on there too. so far 2nl is so soft i can prob win with my eyes closed. i found a basic fit of fold stratagie and pot bet every top pair top kicker gets the money. (we may be able to say same for most limits but im just giving overview here)

i guess my main goal for now is to get back to 25nl as quickly as possible and then make about 1k at the limit. seeing that i comback from a major downswing monkey tilt off, to killing the limit would put those demonds to bed for sure.

also on a sside quiestion about my hud on stars im having issues with the hud. i have everything importing but everything is all over the place i tryed to look for a question similer to this on the HEM forum but nothing i could find does anyone have a clue.

moving backwards

hi

i have realized my poker bankroll can be related to the current economy right now. first of all the was the marketing boom at the beginning of the month with the number of buy ins coming in thick and fast like the housing market was. then by day 4 we hit a global catastrophe with RBS and Bradford and bingly going busto and the American insurance company AIG going broke as well. Manchester united don't have a sponsor now so the price of Christiano ronaldo goes up to cover the loses. (total losses 26 buy ins) by day 10 the economy (my bankroll) starts to clime this was because of new government scrappage scheme that help BMW,FORD, Honda and other car manufactures deal with the recession. (then by day 14 my BR takes a nose dive) when things were on the mend new government figers show that Britain wont be out of the recession and a mini recession might kick back full circle. (dropping back to begging)

now as the president of the USR also known as The United States of Rob

i have declared a global move down, and will be playing at 10nl again until i fix the current foundations of the market. to stop me from playing 25nl and risking/loaning money i don't have (nice stab at banks) i will withdraw to 30 buy ins and begin the grind again. rake back is a great help in this time of need its like a government bail out i feel rake brain owns 70% of me like the government owns a decent % of RBS lol

anyway enough for now

things go bad to worse and worse again

ok well this week has been super super bad i prity much donked off half my roll at 25nl im not sure whats going on i tryed everything. i tryed 4 tables i tryed 6 i tryed 8 i tryed being tigher and avoid bluffing i even tryed to bluff more to get me action later on i keep leveling myself value oving my self and getting coolered and sucked out on. now i know you dont need a coach for 25nl but OMG my game looks like it needs surgary. i feel like a mega fish at the moment.
-$625 in 6k hands i reli dont understand i never played and run so bad in my life.
i can prob imagin there alot of bad play. but looking back i just seem to get alot of bad beats.

not sure what to do any ideas

Looking Forward to October

hi guys i not quite finished my second part to section 2 of my nutrition guide so i have decided to just quickly go over everything i want to achieve in October in poker and life.

Poker
well poker has kind of sucked allot for me in the past few months i been real bad and lazy now i know i say this same time every month but i mean it this month i will implement some major changes. i been looking into lots of areas in my life poker being one of them. i am looking on how to improve and evolve as a person. so brimming with excitement and a new desire to further improve my self as a player here are my poker goals.

now since taking up the personal training course i been looking at how to create goals and the first thing i noticed is people just set a target. For example most of the blogs i read or what my poker friends will say is i want to play X amount of hands this month, or i want to hit $x this month from Cash games. These are simple but not really effective goals I'm going to be using a self assessment scale and set goals on areas i need most work on.
red is where i think i am
green is where i like to be.
Now you chose the areas you want to work on based by how far apar the gap is from where you are and where you like to be.

OK so the areas with the most green boxes are focus and game selection. so this month i will look at improving my focus on my tables and improving my game selection.
Then from there set a SMARTER goal
S=specific
M=measurable
A=agreed
R=recordable
T=timed
E=exciting
R=realistic

here are my examples of smarter goals

game selection
1 spending 1 hour a days studdying good game selection practice.
2 spend 20- 30 min pre session selecting my tables
3 spend time researching 3 regulars a week

focus
1 close all programs other than full tilt and HEM while playing sessions
2 lock self away when playing a session, so no family distractions.

OK now for my life now there are many things i want to do and although i have used my self evaluation chart i wont put it up because it just waste space. i want to move out in the next year and so for that i need a base line of good housing skills. i want to become more inderpendant and more responsible im looking for a part time gym instructos job to work alongside my karate instructing while i learn to become a personal trainer. but in the mean time while i dont have a second job i will focus my energy on these lifestyle changes.

1 learn to cook 3 dinners a week and cook them well.( goner be moving out soon so i need to be able to survive)

2 go to the gym 3 times a week early morning ( getting lazy)

3 go to bed at a reasonable time (11pm) so i can get up for gym and get 8 hours sleep a night

4 learn 1 house hold skill a week (ironing washing cleaning etc)

these 4 are the major life changers i want to move out and so i need to become more and more independent so instead of mum and dad doing it all for me i shall now start to learn and do myself

so there's allot to do and learn this month I'm reli feeling i need to make these steps to help put a bad September behind me.

obesity and weight management part 1

Ok guys been a while I been very lazy with lots of things but I defo put of blogging this second part to my nutrition guide. I decided that I will be changing the structure of my guide. This second part will be on obesity and weight loss management. And further instalments will be decided later this week.
Ok so my first part of my guided covered the basics a very boring instructional guide into what basic foods gave what nutrients to the body. This second part is on the obesity and weight management. Now in simple terms obesity can be defined as "the excessive storage of body fat, frequently resulting in the significant impairment of health" (wallace1997) obesity was considered a cause to many leading diseases but now it is considered a disease in its own right.
In the UK 22.2% of men and 23% of women are considered clinically obese. While 65% of males and 55% of females are consider either overweight or obese.
The goal of weight management is to prevent the accumulation of excess body fat and for those who are already overweight to bring down to acceptable levels. now there are popular diets that many people go on but out of it all only 3.9% of people ever manage to lose the weight and keep it off through these commercial company diets hear is a list of the typs and problems why they work and whats good about them.

lows and struggels of september

OK this entry is just to put things into perspective, there are somethings that are reli eating at me.

we start with poker i know i said that last month i was going to start improving things and start to reli try to play the best i possibly can. I am trying my FUCKING hardest and i am getting run over like a train dose to a ant!. i think i tried to analyze why so hear goes

recently i told my mum and dad that i didn't want to go to the world championships to focus on my personal training stud dies, which I'm reli enjoying. and instead of then saying fine both of them are being real jerks about it. they are turning the net off early in the night so i cant do long session and when I'm stuck money and dont have the chance to get back even for the session it reli annoys me. i cant even talk to my mum without getting my head taken of so i now am avoiding her because i dont want the stress of it.

bearing that in mind i also recently had a long term friend and one of my martial arts instructors suffer a heart attack, which he did not survive. his funeral is tommrrow. now this man was a machine in the sence that he would always be in the gym training. he is a ex england karate team member and a huge role modle for all in the karate world. so as the karate world took a 180 in hearing the news my worlds not stoped spinning yet. im trying to keep my focus but its reli coming through in the form of tilt i just cant take a bad beat this point in my month.

table ratings has reli seem to grind my gears too now i know im not a top winning player and at the moment i feel like a losng player. when my friend showed my table rating data on me, they had me as a train wreck. but the thing is they have missed sessions where i been up. now i know i should not reli care about this but i dont know why it just does.

all these things have made me reli demotivated to play poker and my enthusiasm is lost in the mist of tilt.

things that i been doing to get past this and i guess its helping slightly is

learning to cook fine foods and cusines (brought 3 books in helping to learn)

taking on some clients and helping them to get fit and healthy. even if im not a qualified personal trainer i know enough to help change some lives for the good, and this i found to be the most helpful to me.

been talking to a girl alot recently now i ment her once and we went to go watch final destination 3 in 3D. now we have just been talking on our blackberrys. i asume we will meet but she real busy and im avoiding poker so im always bored. now i had alot of one night stands since i broke up with my x girlfriend nearly 3 years ago i kinda reli just shut my self of from the emotion and so called love. im very good at keeping my emotions to my self alot of the time. but this girl is a little diffrent im kinda hoping something evolves we will have to see. if it dont then it was not destin to be
