more heads up poker

Just played a 2.5 hour session of 1-2 and 2-4 heads up and booked a nice win. I finshed up $1250 in 1255 hands. Im not really sure why I never have payed heads up before this summer, when I would play 4-6 tables of 6 max it would always start to feel like a grind if I played over an hour. With heads up I can play 2-3 tables of lower stakes then what i would be playing at 6-max and the time seems to go by so fast.

Here are some of the hands from today.

In this hand I lead into the preflop raiser with air, I did this about 20 hands before this with a draw and he called me down so I thought he would give me credit this time knowing that I just got caught making this same play a few min ago. As you can see he doesnt give me credit and I turn a Q and from there I know i have the best hand so I just bet it and I get called down.

I was suprised I got a call here. We where both playing agro but I wasnt gettin to out of line. When players do make these calls it makes it alot harded to 4bet with hands that have no showdown value.

In this hand I make it 100 preflop try to win it there and once i get called I continuation bet with my two overs, this play was floating me over 50% of the time when I continuation bet so even if i diddnt pick up the draw i was going to bet this hand. He made a lose call that I would consider -EV but it was the correct call in this hand.

Cant figure out how to post hands.... I will post some hands when i figure out how.

Overall not a bad day for the amount of hands that i played.

some screenshots

Im just posting some screenshots of my poker tracker....

This one is from the night that I came home a little drunk and felt like doing flipaments...This was a very bad idea and I could have spent 19k in many different ways. I guess this was smarter then going to the casino and being -EV.

here are my heads up stats ( i just started playing heads up this summer so I have alot of work to do before i move up limits)

I am going to play 100k hands of these limits and then see if im ready to move up to 3-6 and 5-10. I know right now that I am not a very good heads up player and still have a lot to learn so hopefully these 100k hands will teach me something. If I focus only on heads up I should be able to reach the 100k mark in 2-3 months. I will keep everyone updated on my heads up game and good luck to everyone.

1st blog so its kinda long

Blog by : nlfish15

This is my first blog so I'm sure it's not going to be the best thing you have ever read. I'll start off by saying that my name is Adam Naglich born and raised in Las Vegas. I'm currently in my third year of college and majoring in business.

As far as poker goes I have been playing for 4 to 5 years, I started my online poker career at a small site called betonusa. On this site I built $200 to 1k and once I reached 1k I moved my bankroll to partypoker. I mainly focused on limit holdem when I was first starting out. With the 1k I had on party I started out playing 1-2 limit(4tables) and from there I moved up to 2-4 and was very lucky to win A $33 MTT. This boosted my account from somewhere around 3k to 7k. After this I was able to play the 5-10 SH limit games and I ran very well in these games making it possible for me to move all the way up to the 30-60 limit games in a very short time. I did very well in these games and continued to play 30-60 with a little bit of 50-100 and 100-200. I was a small loser in the 100-200 game after approximately 15k hands.
I didn't really think about playing NL until partypoker introduced the 1000nl games. I remember watching these games the first week they ran and I knew from that point on that NL was the game for me. So I decided to give NL a shot, with having very little experience I jumped right into the 1000nl games. I was very fortunate and lucky to run well in these games, after the first month I was up 30 buyins and limit poker has always seemed like a grind to me from that point on. So I continued to play NL on partypoker until they no longer accepted US players. I was playing the 2000NL games with a little bit of 5000NL mixed in when party shut down to US players.

Once party shut down I was in the process of moving my bankroll over to Fulltilt and the whole neteller thing happened. I had about 10k on fulltilt and decided to try and build that up instead of dipping into some money that I had with a personal investor. So I started playing the 2-4nl games on fulltilt and had my account built up to 25k with in 3 months. Everything was going great until I came home from the bar after about 10 jager bombs and decided it would be a good idea to do flipaments for $600 a hand. Lets just say I didn't run well and lost about 20k. Now I was down to 5K and had to rebuild all summer. I'm currently working on my heads up game trying to get in a lot of hands at lower limits and so far it has been going very well. I will keep everyone updated and try to post some screen shots if I can figure it out.

Sorry this was so long, I just dont see how you can read someones blog with out knowing a little about that person.

Good luck!
