Good Weekend!

Blog by : never win 05

I went to casino over the weekend to play this $1/2 game. My first session I ended up breaking even and it felt really bad cause this was the 3rd straight weekend going to casino and breaking even. I took like a 2hour break and came back to the tables. Honestly the first session I ran really bad and had Aces cracked a few times as well as set over set once as well. I kept my head on straight though and managed to break even, so it wasn't too bad considering how I ran. My 2nd session went much better and won 5 buyins which felt nice. My 2nd biggest win at the casino (biggest was 4weeks ago won 5.5 buyins).

Another good part of this weekend was all my favorite teams are winning. I am from Cali so support all the bay area teams. Giants took a 3-1 lead in the world series (giants fan). I am also a laker fan. They blew out the warriors yesterday so that was nice.... i wish they played someone else so all the bay area teams could of won, but cant win them all. 49ers and Raiders also won, so overall great weekend for the bay area.

I think I got a little ahead of myself on my challenge for trying to play 100 games a day. I think im going to end up only playing about 75 games a day on average. Since im usually out of town on the weekends and cant play much online if at any. That means I would have to play around 150 games on the weekdays and I do not see that happening. I also started playing about 20hrs at the casino on the weekends, so playing roughly 60hrs a poker a week is probably not going to happen. I will still try to complete my goal but its going to be really hard... THATS WHAT CHALLENGES ARE FOR ! HAHA.

I hope everyone had a great Halloween.

Rough Start but Standard variance

Blog by : never win 05

I got an early start on the day and grinded out about 60 of the $6.50 sngs on stars. The day started off pretty bad because of table ninja. I tried using SNG Opener and I had it set up to load up a bunch of the $6.50 turbos. Whenever I pressed start on the SNG opener however it loaded up a $104 DON. Thankfully I watched a few DON videos in the past so I already knew how to play them and I cashed in it.

After I finished the DON I played 60 of the 6.50s and manage to lose around 11 buy ins. I reviewed my hands through sng wiz and I do not think i played bad at all. I made very few mistakes, but due to the nature of the game I ran into some variance.

I am going to spend the next couple days watching some sng videos I have not seen and hopefully that will boost my confidence again. Well, im still confident in my game, but extra knowledge always helps. After my losing session today my overall ROI for the $6.50s on a small sample size has dropped to 8%.

I looked into some coaches Bramnic ($150/ hr), jackal ($200/hr), and Faarcyde (unknown at the moment). I do not think it should be that high of an hourly rate for the low stake sngs. I think $60-$100 an hour is plenty for a coach at the low stakes. Hopefully once im done watching all these videos i want to watch I can get one of them to agree for that price range.

The rest of the day im going to be spending hanging out with some friends I have not seen in a while and probably watch 2 videos later tonight.

Current Overall stats for the $6.50s
Sample size: 210
ROI 7.9%
ITM: 38.7%
winnings $97.70
Time played: 11.9 hours
$/hr: $8.24

Challenge stats
59 games
ROI: -33.5%
Winnings -$87
Hours 2.2

1st: 7.5%
2nd: 7.5%
3rd 10%

Hopefully The next few days are a lot better.

First Blog EVER!!!

Blog by : never win 05

Hello Every one

I am new to blogging, this being my first one. Hopefully my blog stays interesting and motivates me to do better in poker.

ABOUT ME?!?!

My name is Austin and I am 23 years old. I am originally from Missouri but now live in California. I'm a laid back guy who just likes to have fun. I play poker full time for a living for the past 2 years. I was grinding full ring cash games mostly micro / low stakes, but now I have switched back to playing SNGS again. I enjoy playing and watching football / basketball and just having a good time. My favorite football team is Greenbay!!! Glad they beat the Vikes yesterday. Favorite Basketball team is the Lakers. Looking for that 3peat!!!! I am actually really worried about the Lakers chances this year, especially how Kobe is shooting preseason.

Why I decided to make this blog?

I thought making a blog would help me stay motivated in poker and I could post different goals to challenge myself in the poker community. I will be posting my results whenever I can and hopefully make some interesting challenges. I have been a member of Cardrunners for a long time now, so im not impressed with my results in poker, but I do thank cardrunners for making me into a winning player at least. I think this blog will help me further my progress in poker as well.

If anyone has any blogging tips or things that will like to see on my blog please just leave a comment and i'll respond whenever i can.

My first Challenge / Goal

Because I am kinda new to playing sngs or at least new to grinding these things full time I am going to make my first challenge directed that way. My first challenge is going to be to play 3,300 sngs from October 26 until end of November. I think the most SNGs I have ever played in a month is around 1500 so this will be a big step for me. Some things I am looking to achieve...

Level $6.50
ROI: 12%
Profit: $2,500+

I will try post my results daily or every other day at least for those of you who are interested.

* I am not in school right now, so I will have plenty of time to do this. I do lack some discipline with staying on one level and grinding full time.

Good Luck to me at the tables and Thanks for reading
