Just TILTED so F#@%ing hard

WARNING VENT POST

Lost like 6 buy ins to a MONSTER FISH HU. He absolutely crushed me. UGGGHHHHHHHH I don't think I have ever tilted that hard before in my life. Like this guy had me on absolute monkey tilt. He never 3bet and called almost everything from the bb. So I was 6-8xing it pre and he was still just calling away. You would think that if I was able to constantly play 12-16bb pots in position that I could make a killing over 350 hands. This was not the case at all. When I would hit a big hand he would get there. I had a bad case of the second best monster and then I made some really bad bluffs too. It was really sad that I was not able to control my emotions because of this. I should have just laughed it off and stuck to a solid game plan. WTF!!!!!!! Wow the disappointment in myself right now.

FTOPS #5 predictions

Blog by : Needbankroll

I have ran so bad in cash games over the past 5k hands that I expect to have a deep run in this thing. I mean it has to turn around some time or another why not during this event? So I think that I will make it to the final 2 tables and lose a coin flip to remind me why I don't play tournaments. Good luck all try to luck box a big score.

EDIT: BUSTO lost a flip and so is life

Worst 1k hands of my career

Blog by : Needbankroll

Just played a 1033 hand session where I only won 11 pots over 20bbs big. I ran so bad that I'm not even going to show you the losers. I am going to show you the winners instead. It is really pathetic.

I'm lazy and Women destroy all bankrolls

Blog by : Needbankroll

I'm not getting in the volume I should be...blah blah typical rant.

Labor Day weekend was really good for me bartending wise. I made a little over 1k by just working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Of course my girlfriend found a way to spend almost half of that by Tuesday. Sigh...if it wasn't for women I would be a millionaire by now. This is a genuine statement because my head won't leave my head alone. I have spent soooo much money in the past 10 years on the women I am dating or the women I am looking for. I have given up on so many +EV money situations to spend time with the opposite sex. But if I could get it all back now I wouldn't. I would have did more shit that people said that I shouldn't.

LOL PLO HU=variance city

Blog by : Needbankroll

Lost 4 buy ins to a huge fish at 50PLO. No need to discuss bad beats etc... Just wanted to vent and share. I want to mix in PLO HU but I am not really sure if I can mentally stand the variance.
Wow just realized how great it could be for my poker game if I could learn some discipline by playing PLO. Sure the variance is sick but if I can keep cool during a downswing at PLO HU then MOST downswings should never really bother me. The way HU nlh has helped my hand reading skills maybe HU plo can improve my tilt control. Sick world we live in.

It's all relative right???

FR Rush Cbet analysis

Blog by : Needbankroll
0

When I have not had the mental energy or time to play quality HU sessions I have decided to mix in some FR Rush action. Since I am not hugely familiar with FR I was hoping someone could let me know how my flop cbet% is doing.

I guess it is important to note that I am playing a 16/13 style to this point.

My flop cbet% is around 57%. That seems low to me and I was wondering how anyone else felt about this. My red line seems to be southward bound and I was wondering if cbetting more could help this. Obviously my turn barrel frequencies would factor in a lot to my red line but lets just consider my flop cbet for now.

Since I am new to FR Rush I have also cbet less than normal for me because I do not have hardly any reads on the regulars. I have no idea what they are capable of doing. I think this has led me to play scared poker so far and take a lower variance route. I think by amping up the post flop aggression and taking solid notes I can develop reads much faster on how to exploit the REGS. Anyhow here is da graph

Recently and new direction HU

Blog by : Needbankroll
0

I have not had any time to play poker in the past month. I played about 12 hours during the entire month of July. Somehow in that time span I managed to have my worst poker day of the year. Even though July sucked poker wise I am really excited to get back to the tables. I am having that itch to play all the time now. Summer is almost over and I will be playing full time again soon.

I want to concentrate on HU NLH cash and HU sit n go's for a while. I have made a few contacts with some CR members and I hope to be able to bounce strategy and ideas off of each other soon. I really want to commit myself to HU for the rest of the year. I have been watching new and old videos to prepare myself.

If any CR member wants to talk HU strategy or play a session and review our hands just shoot me a PM. I have a few more weeks before I will be playing full time again so if anyone is interested just hit me up and I will get back to you asap. My main goal is to learn how to beat the weaker REGS in the low and mid-stake games. I am not one to bum hunt and I have too big of an ego to refuse action without getting my butt kicked for a little while first. So far this year I have played almost 40k hands of HU at 50nl and 100nl. I have had great results so far this year but I have run really hot HU. I still feel like I have a ton of leaks to work on. I am hoping to dissect my game with fellow CR members some more before moving up to 200nl.

Here are my HU results this year

No more Rush for me

Blog by : Needbankroll
0

During a Rush session I find myself slipping into a tilted mindset very quickly when things go "wrong." So what a guy cold calls a 3bet w/ A7 to crack our KK or we get our set in against 2 flush draws only to lose on the river. When something "bad" happens I need a minute to clear my head and get over it. Sure I could sit out and jump right back in there but my pointer finger won't let me. It develops a mind of its own. Before I know it I have spewed 1-2 buy ins and I have to insta quit to beat myself up about it.

My game quickly develops 4-5 of these tendencies

1) I call tooo many 3bets
2) I 3bet/4bet too much
3) I play tooo passive at times just trying to get in a bunch of hands
4) I act to quickly without an entire plan for the hand
5) I don't take notes
6) I don't exploit the fish
7) I call down too light...CALL STATION
8) I overplay medium strength hands
9) I try to outplay everyone regardless of their hand range
10) I drift into auto pilot mode
11) I apparently don't pay attention to stack sizes. Ex. I got my TPTK all in for 200bb in a 3bet pot. I cbet...he raised... and I WAY OVERSHOVED. Obviously he had a set and I didn't realize my error until after I reviewed the session.

The first 10 things on that list are all things that I have attempted to weed out of my game over the past few years. Some of these old demons peep out when I am tilted. During a "bad" run at Rush they do the moon walk across my monitor and take my soul over.

Why I love hit and runners

Blog by : Needbankroll
0

When I first started playing HU there was nothing that tilted me more than having someone hit and run me. To have someone take 10-15bb or win a flip and insta leave was life tilting for me. I know that their strategy is -EV in the long run. A basic principal in poker is to play longer when you are winning and less when you are losing. These guys do 100% the opposite of that basic principal. So why should I let there losing strategy get me upset?

Almost 99% of hit and runners are fish. WE obviously want to play against fish. Well today I played a short HU session at 100nl. My first opponent was a super aggro fish who donated 4 buy ins to me in 75 hands before he left and my second opponent was a call station fish who lost 2 buy ins to me in 65 hands. I don't look anyone up on PTR before I play them. I like to make my own judgment rather than let some outside source influence my decisions. After my session with these guys I decided to make my notes about their play and looked them up on PTR. BOTH players had numerous comments "Hit and Runs" "Do not play! Hit and runs" etc... If I had looked these guys up I could have cost myself $600 of EASY money.

In short I applaud all hit and runners. I don't mind losing a few bucks here and there because they usually win a little and lose A LOT.
