Alright, this is my first blog entry. My name is Mike Brunner and I'm a 20 year old Sophomore at the University of Minnesota. I have been blessed with the Evans Scholarship. The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing caddie scholarship through the Western Golf Association. It was setup by Chick Evans so he could maintain his amateur status while playing professional golf. It is the largest privately funded scholarship program in the country and currently supports 820 deserving caddies through college. I recommend it to everyone and if anyone has family that is just starting high school, have them get into contact with local golf course to see if they participate.

On to poker... I've been playing poker for as long as I can remember with friends but I started taking the game much more seriously over the past year. My uncle got me started online, staking me $200 online and basically just letting me run wild. I played $20 tournaments and cash games working my funds up to $1,200. I then cashed out $600 and blew the other $600 playing 3/6 nl(this was obviously before I learned anything about bankroll management). I took awhile off and then I had a friend's brother(beaver fever) take me under his wing. Beaver taught me about the game and introduced me to cardrunners. I have been a CR member for 4 months but I'm going to really make use of everything I'm paying for, including the blog. I have worked my bankroll up to $4,189. I'm going to focus on tournaments and on trying to build my roll. I currently play on Bodog, UltimateBet, Full Tilt, and Stars. I am on winter break until January 18th and I plan on putting in a ton of volume at the $25-$50 buy-in level. Ouside of poker I enjoy Football, Golf, Basketball, Racquetball, website & graphic design, and video production. I hope everyone has had a good holiday season and a happy new year. Last but not least is a plug for myself. I am a website designer on the side. I design and maintain www.mttbacking.com for thechemist83, a pretty well known online tournament pro.
