We held the Main Event party this year at El Segundo Sol, right next to Stripburger where we had the happy hours, and it was AWESOME. People showed up early, and we had a crowd going right from the beginning. Huge shout out to Noah, Jeff, Swinney, Joe, Garret and Noah's cousin, who helped set the gear up and manned the door. I met a bunch of new members but one of the cooler experiences was recognizing people from a happy hour or two earlier in the summer.

Following the CR party I had some meetings, railed our guys in the Main Event, final tabled a Venetian deep stack, final tabled the media tournament (second year in a row!), and saw Esthero, one of my favorite singers, perform. Overall a successful trip, although it's taken me a week to get over jet lag, and I'm still having trouble getting to bed before 3am.

The Venetian experience was fantastic. There were players I wouldn't even call competent still alive fairly late, although the quality of play def got a little better as we got down to 2-3 tables. The final table was fairly strong (except for an Irish dude who sucked out on AK w/ AJ to make it there and beat AA w/ AT to get a huge stack) and I went in w/ a short stack. I chipped up open shoving a few times and reshipping a really sweet German PokerStars pro named Jan Heitmann. On my last hand I raised AK on the button w/ 15 bbs hoping to induce a shove from worse, but I was not hoping for him to win, which is what happened when the sb snap shipped JTo and flopped a J. I shove there a decent amount, and would like to learn how to do the math to evaluate whether it's more +EV to ship or raise/call. Anyone? :)

I'm feeling super into liveaments, but doubt I'll make a trip to Turning Stone. Fiance def wants to go to Borgata for some Fall Open events, so I'll prob try to do that. I wish I could play more of their Friday tournaments, it would def be worth a day trip! I just saw they're having a deep stack turbo on August 15th, maybe I'll try to go down for that.

Online poker has been going fairly well. I shipped a turbo on Stars the other night for ~ 4k, and also final tabled the 1r1a, but couldn't get anything going late and busted on a marginal play when I shoved A7hh from mp w/ about 11bbs. I've been cashing in a lot of the tournaments I'm playing which is better than not cashing! I LOVED rush week, although i didn't get to play as many tourneys as I would have liked. The turbo rebuys are amazing, and it looks like FTP is at least keeping a few of them. <3 rush.

I'm finally settled back in at home, and have gotten to see a few friends and am trying to move forward with some wedding planning. Going dress shopping tomorrow, hopefully I'll walk out (figuratively) w/ a wedding dress! My friend Ryan had game night over the weekend, and gave us a new game to try. It's called Ticket to Ride and it's awesome!

Saw Zombieland (liked) and disliked Inception, unlike everyone else I'm FB friends with. It was just so long, and I never cared about the characters. Really dug the ending and crushing of cities, but I didn't think the movie fulfilled its potential at all. Watched Girl w/ the Dragon Tattoo a couple nights ago and thought it was really good. Curious to see how horrific the "American" version is.
