MiniFTOPS 3 and 4

No cash in either.

Number 3 was a 9 handed shootout. Basically you have to win 3 sngs to win the tournament. I finished 3rd at my first table. Played pretty well. Got crippled 3 handed allin with 99 vs A8. Then shoved A9 vs 33 and missed. I was really happy with how I played the whole table. The guy who won my table was very good and aggressive. I checked today and he actually won the whole thing. His name is Rounder63 I believe.

Number four was a one rebuy one addon event and I was completely card dead. I ended up allin on a resteal attempt from SB vs button raiser with Q9 vs KQ and he held up. I wasn't totally happy with this tournament. i got like literally 2 premium hands. With JJ I just won the blinds. With KK I raised and folded when the flop came Axx. Very disgruntling tourney as I had very few chances to make any moves or do anything at all really.

MiniFTOPS 1 and 2

Blog by : LaKeyU

I am going to try to play every miniFTOPS event if I can work my schedule around it. I can't afford the FTOPS but think the miniFTOPS should be fun.

So far not so good. I played the first two events and lost.

Event 1 6max NL

My second table features FTP red pro Stuart Paterson. I have something between 3400-4000 chips with 150/300 blinds or 160/320 with antes I cannot recall exactly. Paterson has been making some 2.5x raises trying to get blinds and antes and I am in the SB with KQs. I can't sit around forever with the antes coming into play and just over 10 BBs so i shove from SB when he makes his 2.5x raise from MP. He calls with 33 and I hit a K to win the race.

Very next hand I am on button now with about 8k and I get QQ on the button. I raise 3x and the BB reraises. he has me covered and I shove. He has AKs and hits the A. Bye bye Imindangerrrr :-(

Event 2 PLO
I have AA62 with 3 clubs in middle/early position. I have just over 4000 chips with 50/100 blinds. I limp because the table has been passive and my hand plays poorly postflop. The players at my table don't seem very good and will pay off when I hit a set most likely. One caller behind me and the rest fold. BB checks.

Flop comes AQ2 rainbow. BB checks. I bet pot. Player behind folds. BB calls. Turn makes the board AQ2Q. BB checks. I bet half pot hoping he has made trip queens or even has AQ or 22. He calls. River brings a 3 making the board AQ2 Q 3. He leads into me this time on the river for about 3/4 pot. I don't have much after that so I shove. My thought here is he has trip queens or a full house with like Q2 or Q3. Maybe AQ but I have 3 of the aces. The people at my table were all pretty bad too so I thought maybe he could have been drawing to some kind of wheel wrap and made a straight since he lead the river.

Obviously he showed me QQ for quads and its bye bye Imindangerrrr again. Not really much I can do imo. I had the nut boat/2nd nuts and its not like I was playing against a tight pro who would only be playing great hands here. Anyway I don't think I can ever assume quads and fold in this spot. Maybe that's why I suck at PLO...

That hand made me pretty sick to my stomach but I feel I have played well in the first two events.

Wish me luck.

Daily Dollar April 9, 2009

Well it is looking like I have mastered the $1 tournaments. My bankroll is too big at this point to even bother with them now, but I just had another big final table and my biggest win ever!

I cashed for $1,599 for winning the Daily Dollar. I am so happy with my tourney results. They have just been crazy good. I have barely played at all the last few weeks(?) basically since I won the Ferguson. Haven't kept good records. Anyway a conservative estimate is that all these cashes I have blogged about have occurred in my last 20 tournies or so.

I feel really good about the way things are going for me. I did not necessarily play my best game`tonight and obviously to beat the big field (5770) I had to get lucky in the right spots. I did completely own the guy I got headsup with. That was the part of my game where I felt I played very well. He had like a 2 to 1 chip lead and I wrecked him. Anyway I feel very good and will be moving on from the $1 obviously but they have been very good to me! 1599 is the best return on a one dollar investment I could ever hope for!

P.S. I just reread this and it sounds very braggy and douchey. I don't really mean to sound that way and I am very humble about poker and any success I manage to have. Just kind of exciting since it was like 8x bigger than my biggest win ever!

Ferguson March 25th, 2009

Ok now I am legitimately proud of myself. I know I am playing the micro MTTs, but I am crushing them. I am running very good as well don't get me wrong. Here's the thing, my last 4 Fergusons I have finished 4th, 12th, 2nd, and 1st. The first 2 were NLHE and the second two were Razz and HORSE respectively. I am very proud of this.

Tonight I won the HORSE for like $140. Not the biggest prize in the world but I am really glad to have had this run of success. I am also proud that I have FT'd in 3 disciplines. I know that a lot of people would laugh at this, but since I am just beginning to play seriously I couldn't be happier. Also I am very tired. Good night.

The ferguson March 23, 2009

Well I have been killing the Fergusons lately. I missed about a week due to vacation and being tired. But on top of the final table I posted about earlier, I finished 12th in a NLHE Ferguson a few days ago and now tonight just finished 2nd in the Razz Ferguson. Razz was a frustrating final table. My stack swung up and down between about 320k and 30k with the small bet being 20k lol. I was vastly better than the people at the final table and got very unlucky HU. I hope to soon be moving up to bigger and better tourneys so I won't have to feel pathetic for posting about these. Anyway, the 2nd place finish only got me like $60, about the same as my earlier final table because less people enter the limit tournies. VERY TIRED!!!! EYES BLURRY..... 4 AM. Up for 22 hrs. BED!

The Ferguson March 12, 2009

Well I finally broke through into a final table! I have been playing micro MTTs for a few weeks now and got my first final table appearance in the Ferguson tonight. I am dead tired as it is 3 am. I have a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow at like 9:30 so I definitely need to get to bed but I just want to post some moments when I do well in tournaments more for my own benefit than anything else. I don't think anyone would really find this interesting.

So tonight went well and I finished 4th. I made some big mistakes but got lucky when I needed to. I cashed for $67.85 which is not too impressive but is very nice for a $1 investment. More than anything I feel good about it because I have been crashing and burning about 2/3 of the way into most of the MTTs I have played. I have been making pretty standard plays but haven't been able to go deep until tonight.

Imindangerrrr is my FTP screen name. I just took LaKeyU cause I'm a Chau Giang fan.
