So yesterday ended up being a pretty bad day for me overall. I decided that I would do all the tournament sfuff and was pretty frustrated with it at the end of the day and I let myself slip back into a degenrate gambling mentality. I went and played 1/2 PLO after playing tournaments for 7 hours. I didnt run well and lost coupls 65/35 favored hands and got more frustrated. Then I bounced around 3/6, 5/10, and even a 10/20 table. WTF??? Seriously lost some self control yesterday and was pretty disappointed in myself for not just stopping after the tourneys were over. I ended up being a 1.5k loser on the day which was only my second losing day of the year. I came back this morning and made myself grind some .25/.50 and this afternoon played some .5/1 and ended up winning $700 today. I will probably play another session later this evening. The only good thing about yesterday is that i will post some pretty fun hand histories for anyone reading this. There is definately some gambling going on in these hands LOL:

I have been playing a lot of .5/1 PLO this week and doing very well. I won $1100 on Satruday which was a nice dayse work. I put in about 5 hours. I also played the $11rebuy on Stars and lost a race with ak against nines to go out around 100. I have been getting in the top 50 or so pretty much every time i play it but can never seem to get past that point. I am going to spend some time tommorrow playing all the Sunday tourneys on stars. SunMillion, 100k Guaranteed, and the 11$ rebuy that starts at the same time as Sunday Millions. Hopefully something good will happen. If not, then i will obviously be grinding the PLO cash. I paid off 1.2k more of my debt in the last two days. Getting really close to no debt and it feels really great to be controlling my bankroll so well. Had a very nice day of PLO. I won $550 in my regular .50/1 game. Went and got some real life things done this afternoon. Worked out, payed some lawyer bills, went to dinner with my family, etc. Then came home tonight and played a couple of the guaranteed donkaments on pokerstars. Nothing good happened in those and i lost about a hundred bucks. SO.... I was up $450 for the day and decided that I would be a degenerate today and buy in for $400 at 5/10 PLO and see if I could run up a stack one time:) If i lost I would still be up $50 for the day and I have had worse days than winning $50 LOL. This is the first time that I have gone out of my bankroll in over a month but I was not drinking or in a "stuck" gamboool state of mind. I wanted to stay soooooo bad but I made a wise decision for my bankroll and decided to call it quits for the day as a $1,866.05 winner ::::)))))) Not a bad day. And I just played back the queen ten hand on poker tracker and I was a beautiful 99.7% favorite to win the $1,680 pot. Gotta love PLO. I cant wait until my bankroll is high enough to play in the 3/6 and 5/10 games regularly. They get it in so light there. The regs are obviously solid and very good but there are sooooo many random fish that just sit in there and dump money like its going out of style. Just gotta keep grinding a couple more months. I did not play online this afternoon because I had to run some errands and i went and worked out. Then I had dinner with some friends and went over to play at a live 1/2 plo game here in austin. This guy had been pretty aggro and bluffing/floating a lot. He potted the flop in a three bet pot against me a few hands before were i had strong aces and i mucked. I turn my flush and decide to call him down thinking he has a set and possibly queen blocker. While reviewing this hand here I am angry at myself for not value shoving on the river. I am pretty sure he calls me with the way the game was going. Oh well:

Didn't really lose any big pots fortunately. I payed off $350 today and have reduced my debt to under 6k now. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.....

This is the first blog I have ever written......

I have set many new goals for myself this year and have been working very hard at acheiving them. After blowing my 100k+ bankroll in about six weeks at the end of last year, I borrowed money from a few people and quickly found myself 15k in debt. Not where i wanted to be at this point in my life. I had been doing well all year playing plo on ftp and nlhe live at commerce for about six months. Life was good and I had plenty of money and no kids, wife, job, etc. I was basically just partying all the time and generally having a good time. But with no goals or responsibilites I began to slide into the degenerate cycle of playing drunk, not caring about money, and always moving up to chase losses. WOW! That was not me at all. I had always made my money from good game selection and only playing when i felt i was at my best.

I moved back to Texas(Austin) from L.A. just before Chrstmas and wanted to really get myself away from poker. I took a few weeks off and was just trying to figure out what i wanted to do and how to best pay off my debts. After working for a few weeks(coaching tennis, i played on the tour for five years but never made the big time) I quickly realized that it would take a long time to make and extra 15k after living expenses. So......back to the tables.

I deposited $500 on Pokerstars. My plan was to play strictly plo cash games with an overrolled bankroll. I began playing .10/.25. I had 20bi for the game which was not enough for my new goals(50bi) but.....easy level and I could not afford to deposit any more than $500. I quickly built my roll up to$2500 and moed up to .25/.50. I have been beating this level very solidly for <20bb/100. I am very comfortable beating this level and have the br now to move up to .50/1 according to my 50bi rule but.... I think I am going to continue to play .25/.50 until I have payed off all my debts. That is the ultra conservative route but I just want to get this off of my back. To date I have payed off 9k of my debt and have 6k on Pokerstarst! I am very excited about that as it is a very stressful feeling to owe people money. I hope I never have to borrow money ever again. I still owe 6k but hopefully I will be able to pay that off by the end of the month and definately before May 1(which is when i start a new job at a nice tennis club in the northeast).

Here are my goals that I set for myself on Feb. 1:

1) Spend more time with family and friends

2) Get in great shape again(two gym workouts per day- cardio in the am and weights in the pm)

3) Play tennis a couple times per week. I love tennis and would like to play a few tournaments in the summer. Can make some pretty good money in these if I am in good shape :)

4) Pay off my 15k debt befor May 1.

5) No drinking while playing poker. Only drink 1-2 nights per week.

6) Only play games with 50+ buy-ins

7) No surfing the internet of other distractions while playing. Play 4-6 tables and for a maximum of 1.5 hours at a time.

8) Post on CR Omaha forums a lot and try to watch all plo videos that I can get my hands on. Continue to learn the game and get better.

9) Only play MTD(multi table donkaments) that are no more than 2% of bankroll. And no more than 2 per day because I am terrible at tournaments and I might as well flush my money down the toilet. :( LOL

10) Have fun playing poker! Its hard for me sometimes now cause it has caused me a lot of stress but I really love it and if I stick to my goals and grind up the limits the right way this time then I know I can make a lot of money from it.

11) Write a blog and post hand histories on a regular basis........so here they are

I have been playing almost entirely .25/.50 but today I played a few tables of .5/1 also. And I got a new computer and didn't transfer all my hh to pt so all I have are hands from this mornings session...

People are just bad at lower limts. Wow
