Happy New Years! NL25 report in Dec

Hey Guys once again Happy New Years! Lets all start the new year off in a bang, and get grinding!

So I'm gonna start off with saying that I had a pretty solid month off playing NL25 on Full Tilt. Since I know you guys love images and sorts, I'm gonna tell you that I'm not going to attempt to try to upload on CR, I can never get it to work. Just take my word in what I'm gonna tell you what my results were.

Results:
NL25 6max- I ran at 18.6 VPIP/14.3 PFR/4.42Aggression factor and steal% of 24.8. 3bet% of 4.6 in 27998 hands.
My winnings was $1007.21 and winrate was 14.39hembb/100. Pretty SWEET!

I also won a little over 150 dollars on my Laptop and 200dollars in a donkament but probably joined about 100 dollars off of entries. Rakeback was about 150bucks I believe. Not Sure.

I also lost in PL25 6max because I was following huge fishes and lost a little under 4 buyins there.

So I did pretty good this month, given that I really didn't put too much volume during the holiday period of the month. I grinded a ton in the beginning of the month.

Since everyone epically fails in creating/achieving (including me obviously) new years resolutions I want to try to really emphasize realistic goals, although they might seem high, I'm going to vow to achieve them.

Life Goals:

1. I'm honestly overweight for my size. I'm a 5'8 asian and I weigh 215 pounds and I think at one point I was at 235-240! That's fucking terrible! That's like a NFL running back and I don't have nearly the muscle they have. I would like to say its not all fat, but a good majority of the 215 pounds is. I love food, I can't help it! I need to really do something about that or I'm gonna be a puggy unattractive man! Don't want that. So I know this will be by FAR my toughest resolution but I want to be 170-180 pounds by the end of the year. I use to play sports a ton in high school, and I know that's the key to losing weight when you exercise and have fun at the same time. So I'm going to try to play a lot of sports in my free time.

2. Save at least 5,000 dollars and pay off all my debt. My girlfriend and I recently moved back to my parents place to try and save up money for a house. I need to step up and really make this resolution happen. Hate living with my parents lol.

3. Try to be close to finishing my accounting certificate. I've finished 3 classes and have 7 to go.

4. Read 12 books. That was my resolution last year and I epically failed! I only read 1. lol @ me. Gonna try this one again.

5. Don't quit my day job. Stick it out a regular job for 1 whole year. lol. Always tried taking shots at going pro and that's not a good idea when you're paying a ton of bills. Too much pressure to achieve on the tables.

Poker Goals:

1. Try to average 50,000 hands a month which comes up to 600,000 hands this year. I'm comfortable playing eight 6max tables at a time, so 50,000 hands a month is very achieveable and not out of reach.

2. I've cashed out a good portion of my BR to pay bills and will start w/ 200 dollars at NL10 and try to grind by the end of the year to be comfortably rolled for NL200. I see how crazy the NL400 games are and to be rolled for that I think you need to have at least 70-100 buyins which I don't think I can achieve when I'm saving for a house and paying off debt. So I'm going to be realistic and hopefully be fully rolled for NL200.

3. Less tournaments and playing in home games with friends. Why play there when I can play 8-table online. And tournaments honestly frustrate the shit out of me.

4. Update twice a week and be a cool blog to read for everyone. Hopefully my posts will be entertaining to the CR community and people read my blog. Everyone loves pics and advice so I'm going to strive to get that done on my blog!

5. Play on Full Tilt ALL YEAR! Want iron man bonuses, free CR every month, rakeback and FTP points, why not stay?! This I think will be easy.

I've made 10 resolutions, I'm going to write this down and look at it everyday! Hopefully this motivates me to achieve this.

This is getting long. I'll see you guys in a bit.

Laterdayz!

Insight for NL25 6max players

Had to Edit because I couldn't get my graphs to show.

Sup Cardrunners, I mentioned in my first blog post that I had a blog once before and that when I had one and blogged frequently, I ran pretty good. Lets just say that trend has seem to happen again. I've won quite a bit of money at NL25 in 2 days, while a lot of that seems to be the dose of running good, I feel I'm also table selecting very well and playing very solidly. When I have a reg to my left who has been 3betting me a ton, I just get off that table and play on another one. Remember you can find games in micros that you don't need to really FLEX your poker knowledge. K.I.S.S.- Keep It Simple Stupid, save the variance for mid-stakes if you get there.

I won a little over 10 buyins or 266.17 to be exact over 4592 hands at winrate of 28.82 HEMbb/100. My stats were 20.4/16.2 Agg factor 4.82 and steal of 30%.

I also have to say that I won another 2 buyins on my laptop that I brought to my cousin's house while we were chilling. I have that itch again to put in a ton of volume, i'm such a degen.

Although my vpip is around 20, I felt that I was playing pretty solid. My 3bet% is pretty low, but again I say if you're 3betting a ton, that's a pretty big leak in these stakes as you don't need to create metagame between players because a good majority of them are fish or bad regs who are probably fans of durrrr and feel the need to outplay and win every pot through pure out aggression. You should be 3betting for VALUE and occasionaly throw in a 3bet bluff if you a see a reg getting out of line with stealing your blinds.

I'm also kind of proud of my red line, usually I lose a ton because I'm playing the majority of pots with fish where I just see tons of showdowns, thus creating a huge profitable blue line and a really crappy red line. But I've been changing it up w/ cbetting, mixing it up w/ delay cbets and some really good value bets thus creating a break even red line.

I've discovered that with delaying your cbet on the turn against fish, you valuetown them a ton and you get to showdown cheaper w/ your marginal hands. Fish love to take the line out of position w/ check calling w/ a wide range on the flop, then when you check behind w/ your bluffs/marginal hands on the turn, they almost 100% fire the river with basically everything, merging their range, which make it so difficult to assess what they have. When delay cbetting, fish will usually check/call turn and check the river a ton since you still have initiative which then you could check down or go for a good thin valuebet.

My goal for the blog is to not keep the entries too long so I'll post some hands on my next entry.

Laterdayz and GL at the tables, but we all know you don't need it!

Hello CardRunners

Blog by : kevinjay

Hey CR, I know its been cliche to start a blog, but I decided I really don't give a shit and I feel like making a fresh new start. I had a blog on here before, and when I posted entries on it, I was doing really well in poker. I feel that I should start that trend again.

I would like to say I'm that typical online player who deposited 50 dollars and rode off in the sunset, but I really can't. Its taking me years to figure out how to play the game and I'm still not even remotely close to where I would want to be in this point of my poker career.

I'm not gonna really go into huge detail about my poker story, but I feel I've been very lazy in improving my game and am guilty of autopiloting when playing on the tables. I never got into poker so that I could autopilot my way into a small winrate. All I've been doing is making excuses for myself and I really want that to change. I want my work ethic to be off the charts, its time to put in some effort!

I never had any troubles with bankroll management, I really don't care about pride, if I don't have the money to play in a game, I won't play it, plain and simple. Tilt was also never an issue as well although I do get mad after a bad beat, cooler or setup, with the occasional spew here and there, I feel that I'm very good at taking a break or still play with the same strategy coming in. So what's the problem?

With these tools I should be at least a successful NL100 player, but with many, many cashouts and a 50,000 hand breakeven stretch (yes i hate to admit that playing NL50 & NL25) before I knew it I was busto, having to cashout to pay rent. So now I got a BR again using my credit card and decided to give this one more go. I feel I have what it takes to become a good regular in mid-stakes and am going to make that a personal goal of mine.

Hopefully this blog gets me over that hump of not being so lazy and to work hard on my game, I really can't tell you when the last time I watched a full CR video, except for CTZ's every week, watching in envy wishing that was me, but this is a start to a new beginning. My goals are to watch a video a day and post/read on the forums.

I'll be playing NL25 and hopefully can crush that soon to move on to the limits I was playing for a year and half.

I'm also taking a new interest in PLO. The game is so fun. When I play NLH on FT I feel pretty bored after a half hour, but PLO makes me want to grind hard and learn the game as fast as possible. My plan is to watch a lot of PLO vids and start at PLO10. I have 80 buyins and feel that with my positional awareness and starting hand requirements, this will make me at least a small winner in this limit.

Again my goals for this blog is not to sugar coat anything. I'm going to post hands to try to improve my hand reading abilities and post entries even if I'm having a bad week. I don't want my blog to be all about brags, because everyone knows that poker is a game that involves variance, and sometimes will be the victim of the bad side of it.
I'm going to try to post at least twice a week and try to get myself on the road to robusto.

so laterdayz!
