California

0

I'm having a great time in California and enjoying being outside without feeling like I'm roasting alive. At the same time though, I feel like it's all kicking off back in Vegas and I should so be there!! Nice work Lana for getting 10th in her event although what an ugly beat to miss out on a WSOP final table/win. And the same sentiment to Jeff Kimber and John Duthie for getting runner up in their events. Next week I'll be back at the tables, hopefully with a better frame of mind to play.

A friend just sent me some photos from the EPT grand final in Monte Carlo and it was great to have a look through them. I really enjoy working as a poker TV presenter and feel incredibly lucky to have had the results in poker that I've had as well. Obviously, the bar for playing 'good' poker is set pretty high based on the people I spend most of my time with so I'm often berating myself for playing 'badly' but the truth is that I just don't put in as much time and effort at improving my game as many others do. Usually, I blame my job and the fact that I'm traveling and working so much but the truth is that if I want to get better at poker, I need to put the hours in. I need to be playing more and watching more videos. I love playing poker and if I want to get to the point where I'm happier about my decisions making then I need to be more focussed - bottom line. In the meantime though, I'm glad to have a career that I enjoy so much and one where I feel a LOT more comfortable with my skill level!
