A bit late but March Review and April Goals

March Goals

  • 60k hands - Failed only got in 52.5k
  • Go 20 sessions without a mistake - Failed only did 12 once and 14 twice
  • Stick to 1 hour sessions unless games are unbelievably good - Failed.

I got myself into a deep hole in the first few days in March and was down 15 buyins. Took me the rest of the month to get out so another rakeback month. So made just under 20 buyins. I made 17 buyins worth of mistakes that could easily have been avoided so will be looking to bring that number down a good bit for April. My second half of the month was good so happy with the progress.

I also have visitors over for St Paddys day and weekend and also the last few days of the the month so that curtailed the number of hands I got in.

St Patricks day was bleedin mental over here. Spinola bay at the bottom of the hill before you head into Paceville, St Juilans was packed with people and I didnt see any other Irish people bar our group. One of the barman was telling me that this is their best day of the year for sales and I dont doubt him. And at last I got to see some real Maltese talent on show. I was beginning to wonder where all the good looking women were hiding. It reminded me of when I was in UCC and there was never any good looking women to be seen until the summer time when they just arrived out of no where!

Weather is really started to pick up as well and I got badly burned on the 3rd day drinking last week. I was too worried about trying to drink enough alcohol to get rid of my hangover that I forgot to put on some sun cream. Also got a bad dose today just walking around.

I dont have any visitors now until 28th April, therefore a clear run at the month so here are my goals for April

  • 60k hands minimum
  • 20 1 hour blocks without a mistake
  • Cut number of mistakes by 50% from March's Figure
  • Get at least 3 live cash games in
  • no vodkas and redbull
  • wear fucking sun protection cream if I go out in the sun or buy a hat
  • write 4 articles

update on april so far. 35k hands, currently on 16 sessions without a mistake, failed on point 3 already, 1 live session in -72 but played well, pass only beer, factor 50 baby, 3 articles written, Party Poker Rakeback, Poker Law News Digest - European roundup & Black Friday For US online Poker Players

February Review

Blog by : kakunkap

Its been a miserable month. The last 10 days of February I have been playing some excellent poker, probably the best in my life. I have cut down my mistakes and made some big changes to my game but I just cant seem to get a good run going. Im up and down like a dirty whores knickers results wise! I actually lost 10 buyins the the last 2 days jut running like shit..nothing held for me when I got allin.

I finished the month down 9 buy ins, so its my first negative month. Those 9 and more can be contributed to poor play at the start of the month. I played 72k hands so at least i have a decent rakeback payment due. Im not too disheartened. Im sticking to my schedule as detailed in last post and it seems to be working out ok as the number of mistakes have dropped alot. I went on a 11 LRWM (longest run without a mistake) so my goal is still 20 so Im hoping I can do that next month.

As for February in Malta. Its pretty shitty. A lot of rain and its freezing here the last week and everyone seems to be in a bad mood. I don't know how the maltese would last in Ireland. I cant get over how cold it is indoors compared to outside. Something really fucked up there.. I bought a gas heater but when grinding during the night I only get about 10 days out of a cylinder. Its a pain in the arse replacing it.

Goals for March

  • 60k hands
  • Go 20 sessions without a mistake
  • Stick to 1 hour sessions unless games are unbelievably good

I'm taking tomorrow off to have a few pints as i need the break. Hopefully the inevitable hangover wont be too bad and I can get back playing in a few days..

By the way for anyone interested in the ongame network I have written an article about http://rakebackreward.com/rakeback-news/ongame-rakeback/">ongame rakeback.

Does mass multi tabling online poker equal workaholic?

Blog by : kakunkap

After hearing an interview with Nanonoka over on poker static today I was inspired to write the following article

Does mass multi tabling online poker equal workaholic? Check it out as I think you'll start to worry that your poker obsession may in fact turn out to be the early symptoms of workaholism!

If anyone hasn't heard the interview you can check it out here. the interviewers were two Romania guys and I was very surprised at how well prepared their podcast turned out to be. I love hearing new poker content where the interviewers ask the questions you would never think to ask. The two guys are small stakes players so can relate to most semi serious poker players and definitely to the majority of Cardrunners members.

I hope you enjoy the content.. Laters

I dont know what it is but I seem to find it easier to eek out a win on the European only sites compared to sites that allow US players.. anyways I wrote a blog about it on my other blog here if people want to check it out.

I am in the process of moving into a new apartment so havent been able to watch many videos lately but might try and squeeze in a few tonight and blog about them here tomorrow.

First Blog Post - Making the most out of my membership, Big Game Poker Show

Blog by : kakunkap

Hi Folks,
I really have been not utilising cardrunners as much as I should be. So here in this blog I'm going to give video critiques of videos I watch and also post links to articles I write in my other main non cardrunners blog. I have been doing video critiques on my other blog for a while, but mainly from Deuces Cracked, Bluefire and occasionally from here.
Anyways here's a link to my most recent post on the Big Game Poker Show which was extremely controversial last week and I have compiled excerpts from Tony G, Andrew Robl and Daniel Negreanu's blogs in my post detailing the tit for tat responses from all parties..
In my opinion, Daniel Negreanu is turning out to be a player that people are going to start to hate.. some weeks I like his presence on tv but other weeks he just seems like an arrogant little so and so.. I think it correlates to when he's winning or losing, but I really think he needs to limit his exposure on TV because sometimes too much is bad. It is like hearing a really good song played over and over again and eventually you start to hate the sound of it...
I may actually give a critique of this blogging software too as first impressions not great!!

EDIT: Sorry but this blogging editor is pretty crap, wont leave me format the page properly.. sigh, and where the hell is the preview option and a proper spellcheck?!?
