Not gunna be pretty

Blog by : iclonechips

It's late and my sobriety is suspect. This might not be a well written blog but it's been a while and there's a few things to talk about.
The games seem to be getting tougher and tougher really fast. I swear it seems every day I'll wait at a 2-4 6m game forever.
Rant start below. Return to later.
A ton of the regs at 2-4 are kinda scummy. I mean scummy is a harsh word. But they are really pushing the limits.
I'll play pretty much anyone to start a game under most conditions. The few times I'll play fish but deny action to a reg would be if I was stuck that day or playing too many tables and/or short handed games to play a good player HU, in which case I'll usually sit out of any bad games I have to free up brain power to play hu, then sit in against them in hopes a good game will start up.
N e way. I'll sit alone forever and finally a fish sits. yay! But before I can even play out the first hand 2 tough regs insta sit in the jesus seat on the fish and/or me. So now we have 1 fish and shortly after all other players regs. That's not really part of the rant but rather the state of the games imo.
Today I was sitting alone for a while and shit yeah a fish who I have prior notes on sits with what looks like his case money. I post sb and raise and BB fish snap shoves I think less that 50bbs-ish? But before he could insta shove some reg who I'm too lazy to look name up sits in the jesus seat on the fish. Well I snap and hold w/ A10s (brag) and the fish insta leaves. Said reg post bb and shoved $400 over my first hand/btn open of $12 and promptly quits and insta leaves.
I searched the guy and he's a huge winner even plays higher stakes. I prolly am better off not battling him hu but just hate that he so blatantly bumhunts with no shame when he obviously has the funds to gamble. effin losers never putting n e thing at risk w/o a sure edge.
The games are getting super tough and I imagine after june they will get worse. I hope all the bumhunters get what they deserve and will likely get when they lose the bums from their games and go broke to us who have been battling it out with regs for a while. That's a little cocky but I think it's important, esp. cause it looks bad to the fish when regs do that and it creates a very undesired atmosphere for fish imo.
Another addition to the rant is when regs sit to start games with you on a table or even worse 3-4 tables but take the jesus seat on every one. It should be professional courtesy among regs to sit directly across the table when starting games. Obviously it's an advantage to sit ip on people, so lets not be positional bumhunters as well and just sit across in the fair seat.
You wouldn't believe the other fuckin day I start playin someone hu on a 6m game, he sits directly ip on me then sits same place on another table I opened up. So I do as I always do and switch to the seat across (giving up my sb) and he sits out and leaves after being ready to play if ip. This player would then for weeks sit directly ip on me at tables or didn't play my games at all, and tried to make my life hell.
I mean how freakin scummy are you/those people?
end rant

I wrote a ton more but realize nobody will read if I post it all at once. GL all. I'll post the rest later.

I haven't been playin much at all lately.

I've been lazy.

It's nice to be at a point where I don't have to grind to stay afloat. But I'll never get rich at this pace :(

Anyway I woke up today to an email from my teacher saying we don't have class. So I bought an Xbox, rock band n all the goodies and rocked out all night. Was an awesome day :)

Two girls I know came by and we played for like 6 hours strait. Lol

First busted out the solo band ftw

My level of skill is mediocre.

My all in EV is more than it should be.

I make money without playing many hands.

Nothin special

Blog by : iclonechips

Decided to play a lil higher and looser with game selection lately.

I have been overrolled for these games for a while and need to stop being a bitch and let it ride a lil and see if I can move up and make some real dough. Not to say I'm not happy cause overall poker has been a blessing, but being too conservative prolly isn't gunna ever make me enough money to justify making poker a career after school (this semester and one more!).

Now is my time. Money now is different now than it will be later imo. I feel once I get a wife and/or fam. my risk tolerance will decrease a bunch.

So I should grind and study hard and move up/ take shots in some 5-10 or super soft 10-20, while I can and while the money is still here and I'm able to do it.

N e way. Like I said..... I have been game selecting a little looser recently and playing a lil higher. Lately, as long as I don't have many (5-6) tables running (which lately has been never), I'll play N E 1 HU to start games at 2-4 6m tables. Sometimes even 3-6. To be honest I'm not sure how I compare to other solid 6m regs who start HU games with me. I feel like I have an edge on everyone! But I KNOW this can't be true. I don't pride myself in HU play and think it's actually a weakness of mine........ However for some reason I feel fine about hu play when it's to start a 6m game. idk if the dynamics are diff cause of the likeliness the match will end when more people join in.....? idk but I feel pretty confident that esp over small sessions (such as starting tables) that I am profitable against most players.

Took my very first "shot" at 10-20. Bankroll wise, I am not comfortable playin these stakes, or even 5-10 for that matter. Buuuuuut..... I was watchin a 10-20 game cause it looked soft and there was 2 players in the game which I had notes on. I don't remember exact notes but they meant they were fishy. After seeing a few donkish plays from another player, I couldn't resist.

I took off "auto reload" and sat with 2K. Which was my only bullet. If I remember correctly 2 players covered me and there was 2-3 weak players with stacks between 1-2K. 15 hands in I pick up AA in the sb and squeeze a c/o open to $260 total (pot) after the button flatted. He tanks, and shoves! I call after bracing myself and quickly reminding myself to stay calm no matter what happens (ready for a beat!). He showed 33 and my hand held for the biggest pot (by a long shot!) of my life! Without rake in was $3,900! Holy cow! I tried my best to stay cool and act calm/professional-like when my hand held...... but I wanted to do cartwheels!

Roughly a few weeks before this hand the previous biggest hand I've played, and also won happened. 3-6 I got in preflop, 3way, pairs against my overs (ak) and I got there obviously! :) For $1,780ish........ Been runnin so hot lately.

N e way.... been ramblin, and drinkin. Please exuse my awesome grammer. As I read it.....lol.. probably should fix some run-on sentances but you get the idea. N e way... peace

P.S. Even though this is super braggy..... I'm havin a pretty bad month :(

GL all

An average Friday night downtown.

Blog by : iclonechips

Didn't play a lick today or tonight. Kinda lazy but feels good to go out and be a normal college kid instead of sitting in front of a screen all night like I usually do.

Went out with a close cute lady friend (Not flirty w/ her just close friends) and met up with my friend Paddra and his roomates at some club.

For a while I've been wantin to kinda show off a lil and get a private V.I.P. booth for a group of friends while we're out. Tonight I got the chance and got a V.I.P. table looking over the dance floor with a bottle of goose. Friends offered to drop on it but I told them tonight was on me.

Came out to $220ish and I tipped $45. That's good right?

Loooong story I'll try to cliffnote:

Guy tried to gaffle our bottle. I caught him. Bouncers bounced him. He gets back in our bottle's gone again, I throw fit, they comp another bottle. =fun

I know it sounds cocky and braggy but it's my blog so if you don't like it GTFO!....buuut.......

It feels so super nice to be able to do fun things like this for friends. Alot of my close guy and girl friends are doin the broke college thing where they still complain about a $10 cover charge at a bar. I'm not gunna lie I like to talk about my poker success (ONLY if I'm asked about it though), and spend pretty loosely when things are goin well. I always try (and think I do a good job) to stay modest and not seem like I'm braggin when I talk to none poker players about my job. However my close friends know I'm doin well.....comparatively at least. I tell people that for my age and how long I've been in he game, I should be makin a ton more than I am. And honestly, it's true.

I've always considered myself one of the best. Not at one certain thing... just the best. N e thing I did: baseball, b-ball. foot race, diving board flip/ticks.... lol. you get it. I have always been good at competing.

Poker however is quite diff. For my age.... being a 2-4 grinder is far below par. I look at other guys that have played for the same amount of time or shorter and are makin a ton more than I am. It's kinda cool where I am but am very disappointed while looking at my past 2 years results.

N e way this is a bad post.......

Basically I love being able to do things. It's very easy to be frustrated with poker.... even when things go well, but not as well as we'd like.

It's funny cause I want so much more from poker and feel like a huge underachiever..... but if you were to tell me two years ago I'd be playin regularly in 2-4 and some 3-6 and beat it consistently..... it woulda been a dream come true. I'm actually glad I'm not happy with where I'm at. I know SBrugby isn't satisfied with where he is and is always grindin super hard to get better, I try to keep that in mind and stay on the grind......... even though he's dirty rich and super baller. I need to re-adopt this work ethic.

To feel comfortable spending money, I'd say you have to have 4x as much poker money as money if one had a real job. It seems like alot of money but if you can't take out a loan..... what good is it? Obv good but still but you get it.

I'm outtro peoples. Sorry this ia a ton of random stuff but that's what ya get when I get home from a club and blog :)

Seriously I just re-read everything and it's super random and makes lil sense. But I actually love having a place to write creatively about whatever I want.

I appreciate everyone who reads.... seriously. And would love to check out yours. Link me or comment and I'll peep yours. I've already seen some good ones like "needbankrolls" blog. I met him right after I luckboxxed a big pot against him :) sorry man! Cool blog though.

Stay healthy and take ur medicine people.

First thurs. night back in school.

7 hr's. $5 an hr. Up $1,100ish most, down $1,200ish most. lol won like thirty bucks or somethin. Shoulda went out drinkin with friends instead :(

Still love poker though.

Things been goin super super well lately... Overall....... After running 6K above EV over 7 days while I visited San Diego, things kinda leveled out. Been playin rush 1-2, 4 games 6m, and two 9 handed usually. Not exactly sure how I feel about the game yet as in possible winrate, or how it affects poker overall..... but it's a change of pace and fun. Not to mention swings are alot bigger since hands are dealt super fast and stacks get real real deep. Still wish they'd open 2-4 rush :)

awesome thing: Got all in preflop KK vs AA in a 3way pot with a 50bbs stack that had AQ and a super deep (about $800) stack who had the american airlines.

Pot was over $1,700 at 1-2. Needless to say I lucksacked out and shipped the 2nd or 3rd biggest pot of my life! And the biggest pot BB's wise ever! Man it felt good.

I re-raised the deep stack's early position open with KK. When some red pro from tv (was on final table of wpt event cant remember his name) shipped all in for a hundred, the opener snapped. So he called 50big blinds and we got another 350 big blinds ($700) left. I played it bad in my opinion and went all in. I posted it on twoplustwo, got one response that said I shoulda made it $260 then called off. Same result happens but I think shipping like I did isn't the best play but still think it's a pretty tough spot. Deep stacks are so tough and deff. somethin I need to work on.

Good news: Classes are super duper easy this semester....... I think. I hate to curse myself but I think this semester is gunna be a breeze.

Later everyone!

Edit: One of my best friends in the world has a sick website. I know this sounds like I'm doin a friend a favor but I honestly just think you guys will enjoy this kinda thing. It's pretty goofy, about alot of my friends, and totally insane :)

He's made some cartoon comedy stuff that's deff worth a watch. Check it out, he's good people and it's good stuff!

Got cab driver/low life/idiiot... eff you

Blog by : iclonechips

So I get a cab to my dads house really late and he drops me off. I ask for $4 back on a $11 tab as I hand him a $20. He says somethin like "you ask your girlfriend or wife for money back?" I'm so shocked I asked him "what do you man by that? are you insinuating that I'm cheap?" he say's nothing. I'm so shocked all I can say is give me the extra I'm not tipping now. (He is very very obviously trying to insult me)........ He sucks, he leaves. I call him later from dad's house tell him I'm a new customer and need a ride from inshape city. When he calls and says I'm here.... I tell him (in an awesome fake girl voice obv.) that I'm across the freeway at K and J liquors. When he gets there he calls and I reveal that I am indeed not a new customer but rather a pissed off one who doesn't need a ride at all but is rather at home costing an idiot lots of money while sitting in the comfort of his home laughing on the internet. Screw you cab moron. Screw you to hell.

WATCH!

Blog by : iclonechips

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8U2ZxN_vMo

Wow I just bought this watch. Tonight I won the biggest pot I've ever played in my millions of hands of poker. $1,791. Was a boring hand. My ak sucked out on JJ and 1010 all in preflop in a 3-6 game in a battle of the blinds and button. I wont post the hand history cause it's boring.

Ever since I came down to San Diego I have been crushing harder than ever. I've had my best 7 day stretch ever.

Every day of the trip and a few weeks before I have been really lookin at watches. I finally broke down and got this one. I absolutely love it. It'll be at my house when I get home (as well as my 37" flatscreen :) ) The watch was $860! Way more than I ever imagined I'd be spending on a watch but it's a late x-mas gift to myself/celebrating my biggest pot ever or good grades/ eases the pain of going back to school. It serves alot of purposes. And wtf sometimes I just like to spend money what can I say. Haven't decided if I'm gunna tell my fam how much I payed for it though..lol
