School has kept me really busy so really haven't had time. I recently got a membership to a gym to try and get back in shape. We'll see how that goes. poker will probalby fall to the wayside now that golf is back in season. Ready to get back on the course. I actually might go get a few clubs tomorrow. Dissapointing

Me being dissapointed has nothing to do with poker. I had a calc test last friday and it didn't go as well as i had hoped. I usually don't study too much for test, but this one was different. I went to three different review sessions and actually studied a lot. I was fully expecting to pretty well on the test. Well friday came and we recieved the test and I think i recognized one equation on the whole exam. The format is 5 questions worth 20 points a piece, so if you don't understand a problem your screwed. My math teacher made the test so much harder than need be. He would have been able to tell we understood the information without making the test so hard. The first test average was 50/100 and he didnt curve it. I got 80/100 so it didnt really matter but I bet the average on this one is going to be around 40/100 so hopefully he will curve this one. Well enough about school. I started playing a little bit of poker again. I play a lot of the $13 6 max turbos on stars so I deposited 13 last night and played one, and have been running really well. I've played 8 of them took first 4 times, and second twice. Ive also thrown a few heads up sitngos in there as well to improve on that. So i have a little bit of money in my account. Pry just keep grindin the sit n gos. I gotta get going to work. Later

It's Been A While

Well, it's been forever since i've posted. I've tried to avoid poker for a while I guess. I almost even cancelled my membership to cardrunner's because it had been so long since I've been on the site. I finally just started playing poker again after about a two month hiatus. I go to Iowa State and we recently just had our spring break, so I decided to head to the local casino for a couple nights after work. The play there at 1/2 nl is horrendous and I can usually count on atleast doubling my money. But those two days were terrible, I literally could catch no cards. I stayed patient the whole time, didn't get involved in stupid situatations, and still couldn't do anything. In the two days I lost around 350. It could have been a lot worse I guess. I'm saving up some money from work and am going to start online again. I took everything I had in my account to pay for school and supplies. I know this goes against eveything I should have learned but I will be playing above my bankroll. If I go bust that's fine I'll just redeposit in a few weeks. I just can't sit there and grind my bankroll up 10-25 dollars a day. It just takes way too long. I know probably not the best idea but well see how it turns out. Probably start playing again this weekend or sometime next week. I have a huge calc test tomorrow so all studying tonight, and I work all weekend. Well see how it goes, and it's good to be back. Later

so frustrating

I can't do anything right. My banroll is really suffering. I have enough to conitiue to play 25 NL, but losing 4 buyins since the beginning of the year really puts a dent in it. It's the same way w/ sit-n-gos. I always play the turbo 13 6 max on stars, and usally do really well in them, but not lately. Just this morning I lost a buy in with two pair to runner runner flush. What hurts the most is I'm really starting to doubt my ability and am wondering if me beating 25 NL for almost 8bb/100 in december was just a fluke. I seriously can't do anything right. When i get it in with the best of it I honestly expect to get sucked out on.. You have no idea how tired of this I am. I think im gonna go buy a new video game and play that for a week, and completley forget about all poker. I need a break of I will seriously lose all of my bankroll, and once again start over. Rinse and repeat. I've started posting a little bit more and have been trying to gain some contacts through cardrunners. Just so I can talk poker to someone. None of my friends are that into it, so no one to really talk to.

Tried full ring

Blog by : hahanson

I've been break even since the beginning of January w/ 25 NL 6max, so i decided i would try full ring for a little bit. I usually play 4 sometimes 6 tables of 6 max, and even 6 wasn't enough for full ring....it is so incredibly slow. i played 6-8 the whole time around 1500 hands and was beating it for around 3 bb/100. I went back to 6 max for awhile today and was playin well.. Then my JJ tripped up and was beat by runner runner flush...for stacks. Then my dominated hands just kept losing. I lost w/ AK twice to K 10 and K 5. So overall I think I'm break even on the day, which sucks because I was up a little bit. I'm sure I'll put in quite a few hands tonight.

School starts in a few days, and I really don't want to go spend 300 on books. I'm not taking many classes this term but two of them are kinda tough, and I have a problem with going to school. I should be done with school but I'm still only a Junior at Iowa State majoring in Finance. Parents are getting a little frusturated, but I'll get it done. Just taking my time I guess.

Hoping January turns around pretty quick so I can get to 50 NL in a little bit. Well see though. Time to head to the store and get some food.

A little better

Blog by : hahanson

Well last night I plaed around 1200 hands of 25 NL. It went better then it had been. I started off though by reraising a limper w/ QQ flop is J3J, he checks I bet, turn is a Q, he checks I bet again. He goes all in on the river...of course I call only to see JJ for quads. Not a great way to start off, but I recovered a little bit. This morning my QQ got cracked by 4 6 suited, which was fun. Other than that I haven't been playing to bad. I go through the phase of building a bankroll only to blow it a few days later. Well this time I promised myself I wouldn't do that again. I've also realized my biggest leak is not being able to fold overpairs or something when I know I'm beat. It's been a little better but I still need to work on it a lot. Well I'm gonna go play some 360 rented Bioshock and from what I've played so far it's pretty cool.

Tired of it

Blog by : hahanson

Well this is the first time I've created a blog, but January has sucked and I need to vent. In December I was beating .10/.25 NL 6 max for around 8 ptbb/100 over 30,000 hands. So far in January i'm around .3 ptbb/100 all because I can't fold. I've never paid so many sets off. It always goes UTG limps in, I reraise in the CO or OTB with KK AA and they call. Flop is usally J 7 3 rainbow. He checks I bet he reraises I call. Then he flips over 77 for a set. What really sucks is I almost always know what they have and I always pay them off. I have such a hard time laying down hands even though I know I'm beat. Well I just needed to vent....I'm sure there will be more to come.
