Big week for me

Blog by : fimbot

FTP's running Double Guarantee Week this week and since I was late to the party I was rushing to decide if I was going to try and sell action for it or not. After seeing how the late Sunday night stuff went figured I had to try. I'm selling a big package over at 2p2 for Wed-Sun in all the tourneys that I play daily but want to reduce the variance by playing all 4 entries. If anybodies interested in taking any action, here's the thread, FTP Double Guarantee week package. Been playing very consistent and going deep lately so feel like grinding this much and having the edge of 4 entries per tourney this can be a huge week for me. Post there or PM here by 12pm if want to buy a piece.

Other then poker, another reason this week is huge for me is that I'm finally moving out this weekend or early next week with a couple of friends. Not moving far but the house is really nice. 2 story, 4bd, dinning room, 2 car garage and outdoor audio system. Very excited for this and actually having to pay rent and bills every month is going to get me to grind even harder.

Also made a goal for myself that by 2011 I will have my P5 100k badge, top 50 in Ohio and top 5 in my city.

Thoughts on first week of bet

Without a doubt I have not put in this type of volume playing in a long time, if ever. The good thing about it is that I'm not hating it and actually enjoying it. I'm not bothered about not going out and socializing or missing out on any sort of "fun." Though at times it has been tiresome, mostly when it's late and I'm 1 tabling some $1 or $2 tourney and just want to go to bed. Playing so much has made me really look at my game and think I've already started improving a lot compared to before the bet started. Though Alex has had already had numerous FT's and I just had my first one this evening, I feel it should be close, if not me pull out in the end because of my volume and consistent cashes. If I do lose, I'm sure it'll be close and I will be able to take pride in at least my average field size was much larger then his :)

miniFTOPs started last night and I came out of the gate strong doubling up within the first hour without being all in. The 2nd hour an aggressive player was seated to my direct left who also had a big stack and had me covered. Long story short I got it in with kings vs A/10o in a 5b pot with an ace on the river to ship him a 110bb pot to end my dream for the evening. Finished out the night with a 5th place in one of the Daily Doubles and a 30ish finish in the $28k GTD on FTP. I probably could have went deeper but busted when I made a marginal shove to run into the nizzles. Really excited for todays event as its a turbo 6max shootout so it'll be quick and my experience in 6max turbo SNGs should come in handy. Good luck to all at the tables this week.

Downswings, prop bets and mFTOPs

November has been a very rough month for me filled with constant mincashes and no real decent scores besides the $109c. Very disheartening with X-mas coming but just means I really have to get back on the grind. The mind set I'm taking now is that I'm getting all my run bad before December starts which will be a big month for me. Playing a very full mFTOPs schedule along with starting a month long PLB with nomo4life. Feeling very confident for this series and hoping that I do well in the series considering I had zero, ziltch, natta cashes the last time. The prop bet might be a sweat though since apparently Alex is just too good as he crushed me on Sunday when he just started playing MTT's. Doing well in either would be a great way to end the year but if not, the beginning of the year will be when I have to decide if I'm still going to try and play for a living or sack up and get out.

Hopefully I'll update this weekly for the month to post up results for everything. Anybody else playing the series goodluck!

Sick sweat!

Was loading up tables for my nightly schedule, planned on regging for Stars $5r and misclicked and regg'd for the $109 cubed. Not upset, just frustrated and mildly entertained at my mistake decided to just play on the one bullet and hope for some super awesome run good. After telling my idiocy to a fellow players, I was heavily encouraged to not be a super nit and play for all the bullets by CR's own nomo4life. Of course my starting table had mement_mori to my direct right and few hours later I was at the final table of the biggest tournament I've ever played. Unfortunately my HOF'ness ran out in a super standard spot and I was out in 8th. Regardless it was the sickest sweat I've ever had and the aforementioned MTT pro apparently recognized me and that just added to the potential HOF'ness.

First blog post!

Never had a blog before but after Lana asked if I had one, gave me the idea that if I had place to brag, maybe it'll make me play better and put in more volume Tongue out

To know a little about me I'm 22, still live at home and playing is has been my only source of income for the last year but by no means do I consider myself a "pro." I have all the time in the world to play but I do enjoy my social coming and goings so that can dig into my playing time. My normal stakes are anything from $1-$30ish freezeouts, $1-$20 rebuy MTTs and $24 6max turbo SNGs. I play this low because I'm a huuuuge bankroll nit and very rarely take shots (mFTOPs ME). Other then poker my main hobby is working on computers and plan on going back to college next year for computer engineering.

That's pretty much it and hopefully I will be updating here on the regs. Also, going to start posting in the LLMTT forum as it's slowly dying, so if you read this, you should post over there to get it alive and kicking again!
