Not all players are douches

0

So last night I pulled up FTP to grind some hands because I still haven't cleared all my Iron Man Bonus. I played a few hands but I felt too tired from the long weekend and wisely opted not to play. Rather than play, I took the time to pull up some of the sunday major tournies which are usually at or near the final table at the hour of the night. I pulled up the 100r on FTP and noticed that gambler2k4 was at the final table.

It quickly got heads up between gambler2k4 and fkscreennames who has a previous FTOPS Main Event champ. At one point fkscreennames only had around 5-6bbs when gambler got disconnected and timed out. Rather than take advantage of the situation fkscreennames did the difficult but right thing in the situation and not only timed down but went to his time bank to allow gambler to reconnect. Only one hand was lost and he easily could have stolen 5-6 hands during the period. A very stand-up thing to do as a the majority of other people would not do it.

So big respect to fkscreennames and congrats to gambler2k4 on the sick score.

In terms of poker, I've barely played anything so far this month. Obviously I have the new job which is eating up most of my time but I was also up in Napa Valley this weekend for a wedding for a good friend. I was a little skeptical about going up to Napa w/o a date since Napa isn't really party central but the wedding had 100 rooms booked at the same hotel (basically everyone) so it ended up being a blast before, during and after the wedding. I had a great time and really enjoyed myself. Driving home in my POS rental after only a few hours of sleep wasn't fun but worth the price of admission.

The new job is going good so far. Tomorrow will be a very busy day because Microsoft is releasing a record number of security patches and since we sell IT security software we have to push out an update ASAP. Needless to say, tomorrow will be interesting.

Keep it real.
