Vegas!!

I have been meaning to write this post for around two weeks but just never seemed to have the time to get around to it. I have been doing so much that I just havent had time.

I had a great flight over (as ever with Virgin) they are first class. Finding the house was easy, but we appeared to get a different house as this house has no pool. Most of the guys came over the coming days. It has been a good laugh, everyone getting on very well.

The first week I was just settling in and Will and I were just drunk nearly ever night. We got told about a cool bar (Money Plays) near the Rio and we spent many hours drinking and playing shuffleboard there. I could go into the rules but its boring the picture should be enough to go on.

On the poker front it started out at a bit of a nightmare. I was stuck around $1k playing $1/2.

Im not going into detail about the hands but here are the ones i lost:

AsQh v Ks9s on Qs 7s 5s board. Turn and river were blanks for a $500 pot.

67 v QQ on 6 7 10 board. Turn 2. River 2. $400 pot

55 v 9d6d on a QdJd5 board. Turn 2c. Allin on Turn. River obv diamond $350 pot

AK v KK on A K x board. $400 pot

My favourite was J4 (big blind) v 99 on Jd 8d 7d 6d 5 board. I bet 2/3 pot on the flop and turn. The old lady asked me if I had a diamond which I just didnt respond to. So she checked the river and now i have rivered the lower straight and think im value betting so i moved all in for my last $100. She tanked for AGES and called with 99 no diamond for the high straight. Very annoying. It was the first time I felt so sick at the table that I just got up and walked away.

I decided not to play live for a few days after that and think about trying to get some luck and some of my $$ back! I decided to play $5/10 Limit Omaha-8. This is one of my favourite games in HORSE and I was shocked when I sat down at the tables to see everyone else was 50+. I felt out of place but the game was super soft so I just played it. I played 3 sessions of this and these finished, +$100,+$700, -$200. I also played 2 more sessions of $1/2 NL and managed to win around $600.

I havent played any tourneys yet, im not really sure why i just havent been the mood and I felt like the cash games we super soft every though the donks were getting the better of me.

I watched one of the guys in the house who plays 2/4 NL and I decided i had a few leaks preflop and on the flop with my game. I changed it up and below are my stats from 4 sessions over 2 days. I have been playing much better although I havent really been playing online since I came over here. I didnt want to fly all this way to sit on my laptop!

I have been doing loads of stuff away from poker but on a final note I will just say it was amazing to watch John Conroy play the $1500 NLHE final table live. One of the best experiences of my life. He walked away with a cool 3rd place for $280k. Not bad for beating over 2,000 runners. I have some photos on my iPhone that i'll put on FB for people to see.

This seems to be a super long post, I will update other more non poker related things tomorrow.
