I'm about to go to class just thought I would write somethings down that have been on my mind lately.

It's really crazy how much poker has changed throughout the 5 years. I have been here for most of it too... I can remember laying in my bed one morning freshman year of college (2004). I played poker the night before with my friends and had a blast! I really wanted to get better so I could beat all my friends. So I jumped on my computer and downloaded PAAAARRRTY POKER, damn I miss those commercials! Like a total fish I put $50 on, ran it up to like $80 and lost it all, rinse and repeat 4 times, and I was done! I walked away, didn't think about it anymore and enjoyed being a young freshman! zoooooom, fast forward to the fall! My buddy came down to visit and started talking to me about how he was killing the $5 sngs online and all you had to do was play the top 10 hands and u win! haha, sounds sooo funny thinking about it now! Anyways, I was pledging and taking some tough classes, so poker is always a good way to totally blow off those classes! I started playing all day and night, dodged some phone calls, became a really shitty person. I ran up a total debt of $3000, of which I had none. I had used Echecks and they just added up to a whopping $3000 in just one weekend. That was the lowest point I have every had... I had to call my parents and tell them why I had been screwing up.

Hey all, I am excited for a new start this month, as it is a good time to set goals and start new charts. I will start of by talking about what I have been up to and why I haven't been updating my blog. First off, I will be going back to school at the end of August and it really feels good. I have been taking classes at a community college for a couple of years now because I got dismissed from the univ. of texas. I didn't realize at the time how big of deal it was to be dismissed from a major university for 3 years. I was doing really well in poker so I didnt care at the time, but it has been a hassle getting back into school. It will be exciting starting all over again!

Recently I have been driving a lot, I went to visit my sister and new brother in law in Dallas and had a blast hanging out at their house. I also drove to Longview Texas to visit some friends from college, where I witnessed more than 2 pregnant women smoking and drinking, absolutly disgusting! I then went to shreevport LA and gambooled it up. Lost a lot and headed home. Pit games suck so much, but they the false hope is just too overpowering! haha. I didnt play any poker there cause the biggest game they had was 1/2, and i feel like I play all the damn time, why would I wanna work while Im supposed to be relaxing and having fun.

My goals for august are to make $10,000 playing cash games, and play 1 full night of tourneys a week. I will also try to update every day that I play.

I have been chillin a lot over the last week, not playing any cash games, just trying to concentrate on tournaments. Well, I won a tourny on stars, and got 3rd in one on Full Tilt, for a total of 11k. So all of the sudden, i have bankrolls on both sites again. It feels good cause now I can play anything I want, and not feel any pressure if I don't win. It is soooooo much easier to play pots when your confidence is up.

I plan on playing more tournies soon, preferably the smaller buyins because its just a complete mind fuck to try to guess what level each player is on for the bigger buyins. The lower buyins have more fish, and its really not that big of deal to bust out of them.

Im about to celebrate by eating fajitas and margaritas followed by shot upon shots. holla

I think what happens though is that you get too comfortable making moves, and the more you make, the less they work. For example, when your running bad, confidence is low, your moves become very basic. At least for me, its all in or fold, I am very scared to see flops and play terribly post flop. Thats because I have mentally noted that people are not gonna fold, they are gonna raise, they are gonna hit their crap cards, so i just muck em! I know thats terrible, but I think the majority of people on a bad run feel the same way.

Now when I say I have been making a lot of moves, it doesnt mean that I'm trying to steal every other pot. I have been working on timing and situational steals. Honestly, if I can resteal just a couple times late in a tourny, that will give me enough chips to drift close to the final table.

So that last post was kindof a joke, but honestly I am very good at live tournaments, I got to play in the 2006 WSOP main event. It was an amazing experience, however I failed to cash. In fact I busted at the end of Day1. I was really prepared to play my 1st large buy in event, ready to play my A game, everyone at the table seemed fairly standard. That was until the person to my left showed up, none other than Phil Ivey himself. I have to admit he threw my game off and really got me to tighten up. I played good against him, winning a couple pots, always with hands though, I was gonna wait until I at least had outs to try to bluff him. I got absolutly coolered when I had JJ and raised the limpers from the button, flopped gin with J 8 8. went check check, turn Q, I bet he raises, i call, river 3. He shoves, i pretty much had to call but felt sick cause I knew he had to have me beat. Yep flipped over 88 for quads and it was gg for me! Pretty cool experience and it was all a freeroll cause I won my seat from Pokerstars for $600.

I have been on a good upswing lately playing HU sngs. I like changing up the games when I start playin one game too much. I'm burnt out on playing 6 max as I feel like I'm either playing too tight, or playing too loose. When I started playing I was winning at a very good rate, now all I do is run my monsters into flops that I have to bluff at. (AK on 10 J 2 boards, QQ on A 10 9 boards) all standard!

I want to start playing on another site to get rakeback because currently I dont have any from full tilt, (which sucks my left nut). If anyone knows how to get rake back with an active account HOOK A NIGGA UP! I am interested in Cake Poker, so if anyone reading this can help me out with a transfer, that would be awesome.

Hmm, I pwn NBA 2K8 at the moment, haha, i challange anyone to a game cause I need some real competition. I'll take the lakers, u be whoever.

I'm gonna go golf in a bit, which will be a lot of fun, I really like how much I've improved lately as its super sweet to smack the ball 270 yards and have a great chip shot. all to get a 4 put. lol

Yo, I need to take a break. I can't seem to win any hands at .50/1 anymore, partly because my confidence is way down. Honestly, if you showed me J 10, i would fold QQ pre. It's gettin pretty bad. Luckily I have been doin good in HU sngs. They are so damn easy but very frustrating, Its almost too easy, but when you get people stickin there stack in with Q 8 off pre flop, you still have to have your AK hold. lol

Im goin to San Marcos and Im gonna party my balls off tonight. I will come back tommorow, hang out by the pool and relax. I just need to do other things than think about poker and how much i suck at it right now lol. laters

Hey today was fun, I played a couple short sessions and ended up $400. I played for about 1.5 hours and didnt tilt! It feels good to get a good winning session in early in the day, it makes the day a little more exciting! I think I'm doin good because I have my time spread out well. I have been working out, hanging out with friends, studying/playing poker and eating/sleeping good.

I ate freebirds today, which is my favorite burrito place! then had some ice cream, which doesnt sound too healthy now that I think about it, haha oh well. I have been eating 'better' overall, i can splurge every once in a while! Tommorow I'm gonna wake up fairly early and get a run in. My buddy and I are gonna play golf in the afternoon, I suck too much to play during the prime hours! I have been getting better and might be buying a new set of clubs here pretty soon if I find some I like.

I just finished up a long session in which one point I was stuck $1200. So sick how bad I tilted, but the funny thing was, I was ahead when I got the money in so many times when I was tilting away. W/E just glad I managed to get unstuck and win $200. Thats my goal for the rest of the month, make $200 a day, then I might go to $300 a day. I can totally do it. Anyways, today I went to IHOP for dinner cause it pwns and I can eat breakfast any time of the damn day if I want to! haha.

Im gonna run tommorow so I dont feel like a total piece of shit. After that I will probably work on investing. I donked 20K into the market a couple months ago, and now i'm down $2,500. Its so sick how when I win at poker, I lose on the market, and vice-versa. I have a conference call with an investor, hope fully I can get back on track, although I know its a tough time right now for investing. Thats it for now, later!
