People Calling Super Light

Blog by : damelt

hey,

i haven't played too much wit exams since my last post but putting in hours here and there. The games on Betfair are super weird, 1) nobody 3bets properly 2) no-one raises the button 3) everyone limp, calls. this had led to my aggression to be massive, but its winning and it is easy to adjust to when people wake up wit hands.

here's a few hands wer i was shocked to see my opponents hole cards

this is heads up against a guy who played very unorthodox as you wil see are last hand we played

jus a small bit , i'm suprised he didn't 4bet wit a solid hand like AJ head up.

Something i don't lik about Betfair is you can't use PA hud and your allowed buy-in for 5$ in 50NL, here is a guy who makes such an odd call for his stack, i thought he was dead wen he snap-called, i thought oh bollox!

this next guy had been sayin the chatbox i never get any cards blablabal and he was tilting cos his J4 lost to AJ on a AJ3board, my shove on the turn is dangerous cos 97is in his range but so is 87 and worse hands, i was shoving for value cos i do beat alot of his calling range and also to get rid of draws

that was fun

Blog by : damelt

its been a while since my opening blog, the reason for the delay is that i haven't got any real chance to play until tonight. i have been so busy with stuff for college(which is my fault for not working hard enough all year) and started my exams there this week 3down and 3 to go i have been quite happy so far.

anyway since i haven't played in a while i decided to play one table .25/.50 on Betfair and things started off great and was up about a buy-in and a half and ten i bluff off the all of that in one hand against the only other reasonable player at the table

i was a huge fan of either of my calls pre-flop but i had a nice drawing hand and wanted to see a cheap flop and hit big, when Remane raises i put him on a big hand AKs AKoff, TT or better, so i called to try catch a flop and if not bluff him off certain boards, i like how i played the hand criticism is welome, as we all want to improve.

things kinda went downhill from here, i believe i was playing well but not running well but not running to bad

similar here i play this all wrong- calling pre-flop is marginal, this guy had been tight and raised with goods so i wanted to hit a favorable flop, so when the king flops i think ok gud but not great, his bet size tells me has a hand, i choose to call him on the flop and see does he slow down wit hands lik AQ, AJ, JJ, QQ when he bets the turn i say AK i'm beat and i call again, by the time he bets on the river i jus hope he's bluffing when there's no hand i can beat other than K9 or lower pocket pairs- i will have to learn from this and not become a calling station wit a crap hand like KJ :(

this is a good spot for me to get my chips in, i was worried about sets and two pairs but i wasn't laying it down, there is alot of semi-bluffing hands i am beating flush draw 8-6

i was lucky that there was some weak players in the game who came in with 10$ got lucky and built up stacks and donked off there chips worse than me

i had been 3betting this guy light quite alot and he was calling all my 3bets with weak hands, he was playing a lot of tables so i thought i could take advantage of this, he had called me down and a shove on the river earlier wit top pair, this is my reason for a snap call with this hand

At one point i managed to be down 160$ roughly, i left the game after 449hands with only a 7$ loss which i am thrilled about, i reckon i made some serious mistakes calling to many value bets on rivers, not slowing down on cb's, however this game let me raise 42% of the time and when i got 3bet once every 25hands or so i could move out of the way, but i think i called to many 3bets from tight opponents with weak hands and lost a lot that way! i reckon if i was to play this same session in a couple of weeks i would have made a lot of cash cos i wil tighten up on calling bets post flop and go with my gut,

i'm sure this is rambling on a bit but i am irish and haven't had a drink on a saturday night :), i won't post til after my exams end next friday but please slate/advise me on leaks and ways to improve my game thanks

Turning a new leaf

Blog by : damelt
0

hi,

this is the start to my blog, so i better introduce myself my name is Jay i'm 18 and i'm from Dublin, Ireland. I'm currently studying European Business and German at D.C.U (yawn)! well my reasoning for starting this blog is to keep track and focus on poker game to try to improve as a player and move up the limits. i joined cardrunners to help my online game since i had made a couple of deposits on FT and PS wit prolonged busts due to a couple of factors no bankroll management, tilt and probably(defo) bad play. So i decided i would take a realistic shot at playing online so i have been studying the excellant video's here on cardrunners for the last month and today i deposited 600$ onto Betfair(rakeback), my plan is to play 11$ sng's until i have 30buy-in's for 50NL cash = 1500$, conservative but it has to be done. From May 23rd i wil be completely free of college work and my dreaded exams so i wil really be able to focus in on my game and wil be able to put in loads of hours.

Peace out,

Jay
