Everything In Its Right Place

0

Gentlemen,

Just thought I would bang out a quick blog now that I'm home in Dublin.

The Last Month

I left Las Vegas about 3 weeks ago and spent a week in France with my family! It was pretty relaxing as holidays go, I mostly just hung out at the pool and lounged around the house watching the Olympics and eating different creatures of sea. We were in the south of France just near St. Tropez and I got some nice pics, which I will add to this blog as they become available. I don't really have any tales from the trip - Vegas wasn't the most relaxing of all holidays, although being so busy is obviously therapeutic in some senses, so I really wanted to just do nothing in France! Mission accomplished, doesn't make for too interesting a blog though.

Da Pokerz

I finally got paid by PokerNews after a month's wait and I've been able to jump into the 25nl Zoom games as a result. I don't really love playing under rolled so this is good news, and should be conducive to some good poker. I've played a few thousand hands so far and enjoying myself, some interesting spots where I've made huge folds - I think this is probably the key to playing at this level. I'm also trying hard to not assume people are getting out of line pre-flop - they really aren't! Been doing some re-arranging in my HUD too, I feel like once the hands start pouring in, having a well arranged and easy to read HUD is worth 1/bb p/100, maybe 1.5.

I've also started tagging some players with red being reg, blue being aggro reg and purple being nit. I've yet to tag a blue (although I'm suspicious that exactly two players might fit the category) and I've tagged probably 30 purples, all playing 4 entries! Looks like the games are pretty fucking nitty, but I don't mind that at all - it lets me play with the fish and it lets me open 70% on the btn and 3b 20% in the bb profitably. People literally c/f to me when I call on the btn every single hand - what are you doing lads?? Just c-bet half the time I have 33 and the other half I have ATo and missed? Nitsgonnanit I guess. I'm down a fair amount of money but running like dirt, I will post graph once I have 20k hands or so and maybe some interesting deep spots - Zoom can play so deep!

In Other News

I'm flying to London on Monday for a month. Pretty pumped to get there, get my monitor set up and settle into a nice routine.

I have a bet in place getting 3-1 on about 700$ that I can't run 40 miles in a day. After some runs and some pain in my knees and back (sad face) I'm starting to get a little worried that I simply won't be able to train hard enough. I still have two months though and I have a 24 hour gym in my apartment in London so the challenge has yet to begin! As some friends pointed out, I'm prolly gonna have to lose like 20 pounds before I can reasonably attempt to do much running, at 210 I'm simply too heavy to stay on my feet for that amount of time. Will be posting updates and such starting next week. Gonna be busy busy.

Finally, looks like Usain Bolt has scored a trial at Manchester United. Don't even know what to make of this but watch this space. So far Uniteds transfer activity has disappointed me. I was hoping for a first rate centre mid above all else. So far this summer we've signed shinji Kagawa, a really consistent, tricky and accomplished attacking mid, which I think is a great signing, and Nick Powell, who scored soe AMAZING goals last season and at 18 looks a prospect. We're in the market for Brazilian 19 year old Lucas Moura too who looks excellent, I really don't see any of these players winning us the title though? We need to improve and a player like luca modric is needed in centre mid, scholes cannot do it forever! Lets hope there's more activity before the end of summer, but knowing the united transfer policy it's pretty likely to be a disappointing august..

On that note, I'm setting up a CARDRU NNERS FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE so pm me or go to the sports section -> football thread in the forums and post there if you wanna join, it's gonna be fun.

Good luck to everyone, at the tables and in life,

Crash
