Just for the summer tho. I have one more semester before I graduate. This semester was pretty difficult for me as I took a number of advanced courses in economics. Any math or econ major here will tell you that you always feel dumber than the grade you receive for the class. For example in my calculus 2 course here (it is the most failed and dropped class on campus), I got a 48% in the course overall and that was good enough for a B. Same thing in econ. I remember one exam for example where as long as you got above 10% you didn't fail it, thanks to the curve.
Today I had my last final for the semester and it was for a literature course I took on the Italian Renaissance. It was an essay exam. Little background information on the exam....Even if you were given the essays beforehand and could write exactly what you wanted and just had to copy word for word during the exam hours, it would take you over an hour to finish. So, on to today...my professor had ben walking in and out for the first half hour or so during the exam, about 25 minutes into the exam, a girl stands up and turns her exam in. I was wondering "how the hell did she finish that fast."
So she hands the exam to the professor and walks out. The professor leaves for about 3 minutes and comes back and asks "if any of us know Bridgette, the girl who just handed in her exam." Nobody does (its a class of 25) and that was it.....for about 2 minutes. Then the professor starts crying and looks up and says "if any of you know anything about Bridgette can you please say something. She just turned in her exam and didn't answer any questions. She wrote a suicide note and said she was on her way to kill herself now."
After this everyone in the class is a little bit distracted and talking about it afterwards. Good news at least was that our professor sent us an email about 2 hours after the exam saying that the university police had found her and she was ok and that her parents were coming to pick her up. That was pretty relieving.
So since I am done with school, I finally played my first session since May 2nd. That was my longest break in about 8 months. It was nice to take a little break and now I feel rejuvenated to play. I played a little over 900 hands and won about 4.5 buy ins. So nice to book a win in the first session after a break. I am going to be playing quite a bit the next 2.5 weeks before I head to Dallas for the summer.
I'm also considering doing a weight loss prop bet. I am wondering what people think about it so please comment and let me know how difficult you think it would be to get this bet going. First I am about 5ft 10in and currently am in the worst shape of my life. I weight about 185 right now. I am going to try and lose 30 pounds in 30 days without any help from laxatives or diet pill crap. I used to be a competitive runner, but my knee has given me too many problems in the past 2 years to really run more than a mile ever without needing to stop. I did play volleyball 3 days a week this semester and I think that has helped my knee so I may or may not be able to run again. I would also consider doing a timed mile prop bet as well if there is any interest.
I'm not doing this bet to win money (because I'm not all that confident I could actually lose that much weight in that short a time period) but I really am getting upset with how out of shape I feel and I can use this as motivation to start getting back into shape.
Anyone with thought please feel free to weigh in.
