After what seems like months of not cashing in the mFTOPS, I cashed 83rd in the mFTOPS (2-Day) event, and mFTOPS (Knockout) event. These 2 min cashes put me back to even if not barely winner for the series so I can't complain. The last hand in the 2 Day Event went like this:

Venting, venting, venting. After coming off a decent Scoop Low rollers series, I have procceded to play and run terrible. I think I'm running worse than I'm playing though, I've debated on unregistering for the last few events they have left in the miniFTOPS. I read old blogs from other players who grind online and they just seem to take it all in stride which is what I'm trying to do. I think I will unregister from the 2 events tomorrow and have a fresh start on Saturday events and the ME. Who knows? In other news, some friends and I about to film a short story (4 - 8 mins). Pretty excited to see the finished product, and who knows if I goes well we could keep making new ones. Well I'm going to watch some CR videos and parts of Deathproof, hope everyone is doing better than me at the moment. GL

I stayed during Hurricane Ike, little to no damage to my house Thank God. But had no power for about 6 days and now that we have power the city of Houston has been under curfew indefinitely. HOW FREAKIN' RIDICULOUS IS THIS!?!:!? It's been 2wks+ since IKE and I can't go play live because all the games don't get good till 12am and since that's when the curfew starts, anyone out on the streets before 6am gets a $2k Fine. This is really starting to piss me off.

This is ridiculous everything going on, on Wall Street. They acted like a bunch of donks, drawing for 100% of their stack with 2 outs, now they want to bail them out. Of course something is needed but damn, lets reward the CEO's with golden parachutes. pisses me off.

I thought i posted a new blog like a week ago, but I was in a rush and don't think i published it. Since my last blog I went to Vegas for a week, played live for a week and a half and played online in between. Vegas was great reserved tee times at a couple golf courses while in Vegas, they were beautiful but being outside in Vegas during the middle of August feels like an oven(dry heat). I'm from Houston so it's extremely humid here that dry heat is really something else. Anyways, i left winner a little over 1k, played at the Wynn and Golden Nugget. I hate the $3.00 chips at the wynn, so confusing, im just acustomed to playing with $1's and $5 and occasionally $25 or $100. The point of this blog was while I was playing live in Vegas, i remebered why I starting playing in the first place, i genuinely have a great time interacting and meeting with new people. I feel like I'm a pretty personable person and poker is a great game where you can meet new people from all walks of life and gamble and hear great stories/jokes. It's just such a social game and I forget how time flies when you're at the table. The first night I played at the Wynn i looked up and realized i had been playing for around 7hrs with no food or drinks. It was a great game though.

The games here in town have been great since being back. Online was going really well until today, but i'm stilling turning a profit on bodog. Unfortunately i had to cash out my rolls on stars and ft, due to fear of tilting them off but plan on coming back on in about 2wks. hope everyone is running well and jumping stakes.

So I haven't written in awhile. First let me tell y'all how Vegas went. Stayed the majority of the time playing 1/2 nl at the Golden Nugget (highly recommend) the game was soft, easy to spot the fish and get paid. I did venture to the Wynn for a day and a half 1/3 nl (tougher game) still easier than games here in Houston but tougher than the GN. I ended up winner for 5 days about 1200. So I get home at around 12am on a Friday ended up taking 4 tylenol pm's to goto sleep finally fell asleep at 3am woke up at 7am, left to the poker room at around 12pm. Played 300nl for about 1hr started to get really hungry and sleepy, left winner like 35 dollars. Came home napped, woke up and started playing online. Seems like my Pstars acct has been stuck in reverse so I decided to cashout what I had left on there. However I've been running extremely well on Full Tilt and Bodog(sometimes). Anyways, my family just got here for a my birthday dinner Dungeoness Crabs, gooble gooble gooble!!

So I was sitting here watching my cousin finish up a tourney online from his house, and I began thinking about how I got started playing. Truth be told it wasn't the Moneymaker story that made me start, I mean I watched WPT from time to time, never really interested in it. It wasn't till one day some friends and I were at their apt and one of our boys came in drunk with a poker set and was like "lets play some poker." There was 7 of us and we had to squeeze in to fit around the already cramped kitchen table. Now I already knew what beat what, which is to say I knew flushes beat straights, boats beat flushes and blah blah blah. Oh and the blind structures, LOLOLOL if you can call them that, blinds went up when someone got ko'd, lol 1st place got majority of the pot while 2nd got their buy-in back. These 5 sng's went on for about a week, must have made about 100 bucks, my friends were no good, lol. During one of the games an aquaintance pointed out there was a $20 tourney at a Beach Club that Saturday afternoon. 3 of us decided to go test our skills. We pulled into the club around 245pm and saw that the parking lot was half full (30 cars), walking in I was telling myself "if you can make it through half the field it would be a victory". Once we entered I saw the bar/beach club had around 60 ppl milling around waiting, I also realized we had walked into a $20 with rebuy tourney, lol. I only had 20 bucks on me and had no intentions of pulling more money to pump up the prize pool. And with that 20 it began. My other 2 friends had more money than me so they were able to buy in 2 times, lol. I was just trying to make the break (1hr) no rebuys after this period, which I did, I dont know how I did it but I did, and I had a ok chip stack. Nothing to brag about but hell it was my first live tourney and I made it passed the break with only 1 buy-in, both of my friends were out and waiting by this time. They announced the prize pool to be around 5k, with 2k going to the winner. So the break had ended up and I noticed a difference in play, people weren't nearly as aggro during the rebuy period for obvious reasons, About 2hrs passed and I looked around the poker playing area and noticed the field getting smaller and smaller, and before I knew it I was at the final table, LOL. Not bad for my first live tourney I thought to myself. Now everyone at the final table was guaranteed 100, so I had already made 80 bucks, which was great. I ended up getting ko'd in 5th spot which was good for 250. I bought some shots from my friends and I, and went back the apt for more $5 sit and go's.

The next week I had told some other friends how lucky I got in the tourney and when Saturday came around we had a group of 6 going back to play. We arrived around the sametime the week before 245pm and noticed the parking lot was full this time. Once again walking in I told myself just get through half of the field and i'll be happy with that. So we walk in and notice there's around 100 ppl this time, WHOA!!!!! However I did bring 40 with me this time so I had a rebuy/addon with me, lol. As luck would have it I managed to get passed the break with my intial 20, and slowly but surely the field dwindled down again.

We got down to the final 2 tables and this older gentleman asks me "Do you play?"

I replied, "this is my 2nd tournament ever."

"Well I saw you final table last week too." he said.

"Yeah, I just got lucky."

"Here's my card, if you ever are looking for a game we run tourneys on Fridays and Mondays."

So I took the card and with a little luck I final tabled again, this time making 7th place(QQ vs AA), gayness!!! good for 100.

I ended up calling the number on the card a couple days after that Thinking I was the shit coming straight off 2 final tables in my first every poker tourneys I went to the poker room not knowing what to expect. BOY did I get my ass handed to me. the game was 1/2 no limit holdem, I showed up at 11pm with 60 bucks, I had no idea what the hell a CASH GAME was, I mean the only exposure I had was WPT tourneys on TV and the small tourneys i had played. Needless to say, I lost the 60 and quickly fell in love with the game. I finally realized how much more lucrative cash games were and how do they say "The rest is history." This blog is basically completely pointless, just some insight into how I got started. GL to everyone at the tables. Vegas 2 days away. TPC LAS VEGAS BABY for you golfers out there!!!

Well I wasn't down much on Stars, right around 4 to 4.5 buy-ins at 25plo and nl, I was extremely frustrated though and decided to not play on that site for 24hrs. Full Tilt was good to me and I won around 5BI's at 10plo and cashed in a 3nl turbo 6max for a 6th place out of 140 for around 18.00. Then on Bodog I manage to pull off my first win ever in a SNG 5.50 nl for $25.00 and I forgot that I had signed up for a $4.00 -18 ppl beginners and blinded off around 80 chips and was actually logging off bodog when a warning came up about the table closing and I was like "Oh shit." Well I managed to flop the nuts with 67spades on 3c 4s5s vs a guy with AA who couldnt get away from them. I was quickly chip leader with around 4k and 17 ppl left and decided to sit out and watch superbad. which im still watching btw, McLOVIN BAILED!!!! hahaha, great movie. anyways back to the subject I sat out and only played super premium hands AKsuited and a couple AQ's in pos. I came to the FT 2nd in chips but it was a tight race the tourney paid out 8 spots so I decided to take advantage and just push all-in lots of spots pick up blinds and antes and sat out again with 7 ppl left. We got down to 3 handed and I had amassed a monster chip lead due to a donk stacking off with no outs vs my AK. once i got HU i slowed down a bit because blinds were still small relative to our stacks. my opponent decided to slowplay AA down to the river and check raise me all-in once i hit 2 pair BOOOOM!!!! another 18.00 in my bodog acct!!! hahaha. anyways, all in all the day started off horrible but once I was able to regain composure things worked out for the best! Hopefully I can get back into the black on stars tomorrow wish me luck and gl to all you rounders!!!

Man, i'm running so bad right now on Stars. Just venting through my blog usually helps. I did set a stop loss of 4 buy-ins at 25plo and nl, took me an hr to hit it and I was steaming so bad I had to self exclude myself for 24hrs. On the flip side of that coin I ran pretty good on Full Tilt on 10plo 6max, got in for the full amount ended up leaving one table with 45 and another with 25, so I'm up on FT today. I'm gonna go smoke and take some time to rethink my plays on stars. I'll prolly end up watching the Brystar Leak finder pt. 3 which is a great series btw. Eat some Pappa's Seafood and either go play live or continue to grind low stakes on Full Tilt and Bodog. Anyways, I hope tomorrow I can turn it around on stars, just so disheartening right now. I sucked today live, I caught Sh*t for hands and had 2 maniacs who were constently raising and re-raising seemed like every other hand. Everytime I had a playable hand suited connectors etc. I would be out of position and limping was just not going to be profitable at all in this game. Overall, I think I played shitty today, hopefully I can go back tomorrow and put in another 5-8hr sesssion and comeout ahead this time. I only lost 50 which isnt too terrible, but I really feel I could have player more agg, and scooped some pots. Maybe tomorrow I'll practice better game selection. Today's table was kinda tough. Not really in the mood to write anymore, gonna go smoke and maybe watch some High stake action on Full Tilt. Gl to everyone grinding online this week.
