BLEEHHH!!

I feel like such a moron. I busted my bankroll on FTP by being an idiot. I worked hard to build up my roll to $800 from starting with $150 over the last couple of weeks and then in a quick 10 minutes it was gone. I thought that I would try to take a shot at two tables of 1/2 and then a table of 2/4. Needless to say it didn't go well. I just wanted to double up a few times and then be stoked sitting on a 2000 bankroll or something. Instead of sticking to what works and grinding out the micro stakes I made a stupid move and now I have $0 to show for it. Even if I did get bad beat in a $800 pot in 2/4 that is part of the game. I feel so stupid right now. I am going to take a few weeks off and not play any cards at all and just relax. Then I'll put a few hundred back on and start grinding again. I want to keep a minimum of 30 BI for each level once I start so that I will always have a decent roll for whatever level I am playing. It may take time to get up to 2/4 again but I know with hard work and dedication I can do it. Time to watch some videos and reflect about how I am a moron!!
Until next time..

Let's see, this is blog numero uno. My name is Gary; I was born and raised in Santa Barbara and am 27 years old. I do accounting for a local public agency. Not the most glamorous job but it pays the bills. Hopefully I can find something in the private sector at some point. I have been playing poker for probably about 8 years or so. I have been playing cards for probably 9 years or so. My friends and I used to always play at work. It was great. We worked at a movie theatre and would just drag a table into the theatre put a movie on and play cards from midnight to 4 or 5 in the morning. I loved it. The "good old days" of being a kid.
I am your typical player who deposits $50 or $100 on a site and runs it up to $800 or $900 and just cashes most of it out. I want to change that. I want to be a successful long term player. I know that I have leaks in my game and want to fix them. I also need to work on my bankroll management and tilt issues. Basically, I have the same problems that the majority of beginning players have. I have been a "free" member of card runners for about the last year and am very impressed with the site. I have decided to take cards serious for the rest of 2008 and well into the future. I hope that card runners is the site that will allow me to do that. The sites I mostly play on are Full Tilt and Pokerstars. I am going to try and update this blog daily or at least a few times a week so that I can use it to keep track of where I am in the poker world and also in real life. I will include both poker related items as well as personal things. I think that everyone likes to read about people's lives. I can tell you about how I am a baller and drive a used car. Ya'er!! Hope you guys enjoy it and would love to hear feedback from you.
Do Work!
