Passion

0

Since the beginning of the baseball season I've noticed myself less passionate about sports. My favorite teams are the White Sox, Bears, and Bulls. I think I might have watched 4 total baseball games this year. I never watched one game all the way through. I was really excited for the Bears season to start. I had high hopes for them coming off a Super Bowl appearence last year. Any loss or bad play last year really got me fired up and I took it way too seriously. However, this year I could really care less about the Bears. I have been trying to figure out where this lack of passion has come from. I've been asking myself this question for the past few months and I think I might have a partial explanation.

Basketball is far and above my favorite sport. I grew up playing basketball and watching the Bulls win all of those championships in the 1990's. Last night the Bulls opened up the regular season against the New Jersey Nets. I was more into that game than any sporting event prior to last years Bulls playoff run. I was clapping when someone made a good play and punching anything in sight when someone made a bad play. I realized that maybe I have lost some passion for other sports but basketball will always be the sport that I love the most. I think that as I am getting older I feel less connected to baseball and football. Oh well, as long as I have one season to look forward to. GO BULLS!
