First (small) MTT Score

Was having a rough day, woke up with the flu or something, but decided to grind anyways. Prob the worst idea ive had in the New Year. Quickly got down, and tilted and before i knew it i was down -365 playing 50nl over like 2k hands. Ended up down like 64 in the session, which wasnt too bad. Thinking about investing in The Mental Game of Poker, for some tilt cure/help. Tilt is sometimes my worst enemy, so i should prob try and reduce that.

There wasnt many good tables running for cash, so i decided to jump into a couple tournies, the most notable was a 109 turbo 22k gtd. Made it to the final table and ended up going out out in 6th, when my AK couldnt hit against 77, unfortunate because that pot puts me in second and gives me a pretty good chance to ship it. Ended up making like $1282 for the 6th place finish. Decent start to MTTs for the new year. Might not play anymore tournies, so my graph stays nice for once.

2012 Tournament graph

Total VPP's: 3410

Looking good so far for the 200k vpp goal. Looking to get around around 3800-4000 vpps per week to make sure i reach the goal. It will be work something like 12-13k, so its a decent bonus and def beats working a min wage job as long as i can reach it. Gonna be grinding cash tomorow during the afternoon, have plans for the night, so no grinding then.

Good luck at the tables!

On the Grind

The start of 2012 has been pretty successful ao far. Just finished a pretty long, nine hour session of 50nl. Got in 5200 hands. Saw pretty much everything, had two set over sets (i was on the loser end....i suck) had a few aces vs kings then kings vs aces...which evened itself out.

My biggest hand was a 175 dollar pot against the fish of night, with a 9 high flush on a paired board. So i tried pasting the hand for the last 5 minutes, copied to hand into the paste hand history and clicked convert, and nothing happens...tried it 19 times. If anyone can help with that, it would be appreciated. So i guess ill write the hand out

Hero: 88.15 (176.3 bbs)
Villian/CO: 285 (570 bbs)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9c8c
UTG folds, Hero raises 1.50, Co calls 1.50, 3 folds

Flop: (3.75) 6c 3h 4c
Hero bets 2.50, CO calls 2.50

Turn: (8.75) 4d
Hero bets 6.25, CO calls 6.25

River: 21.25 7c
Hero bets 77.90 and is all-in, CO calls 77.90

Villian shows: 8h7s

Was a pretty funny hand, and hes prob the only opponent id ever make this play on. Knew 99% that my 9 high flush was good, and we had been getting into it all night. Figured he was going to call with all 7x and all overpairs plus some random hands, he was more than your typical calling station. Thought if he was going to call, my as well shove and get full value from a fish you dont get to play with too often.

Jan 4th Session

Theres the graph from my nine hour session, was down for alot of it, ran poorly in a few hands, had a few hands of tilt but was able to keep it together to find the positive at the end.

Current VPPs: 2798

Even though its reaaallly early, im a little bit ahead of my 200k vpp pace, which is good, but being ahead will highly unlikely last once school starts back up. Planning on another big grind day tomorow/today (its 3am here, so i guess technically its today) , unless something comes up stopping the grinding/mashing/pwning. I dont read over/edit/spellcheck/grammer check these, so dont hate if theres mistakes, i get enough of that on my papers in university.:)

Goodluck at the tables!

start of 2012..let the grind begin

Before i get into it, prob should say a few things about myself. Im 20, live in Canada and attend University, taking a business sports management program (pretty shitty). Started playing poker in highschool like everyone else, but never took it seriously until this past summer. This past summer i luckboxed a few donkaments and ended up winning around 20k in MTTS. It was my only job, so most of it went to tuition/rent/ a bit left for drinking/stupid shit (girlfriend is getting more expensive by the year...dammit)

Decided to move away from tournies and focus on 6max nl cash games. I started getting into PLO a couple months ago, but found out it was the fuckin devil pretty quick. Ran 1200 under ev (i know thats not much, for my roll it was shiiiittty!) and that was basically the end of PLO for me, for now. Would love to play it more and learn it sometime this year, so thats prob a goal for this year. Guess i should make some other goals as well..

Im starting to play 50nl, hopefully can stay there and move up in a couple months. If i start downswinging/getting pwned im fine with moving down and pwning some souls at 25nl. I want to make supernova and earn 200k vpps. Im pretty sure i can get to 200k, only thing in the way is that little thing called university...such a bitch sometimes. 200k vpps is worth about 12k $$$$ in bonuses and rakeback, as far as i could see from the vip store. Pretty much more than any summer job would make, so even if i break even (pleas kill me if i do) ill still be fine. Ill try to update daily, maybe weekly, depending on how busy i am. Plan to play 30-40 hours of week.

Good luck at the tables
