Full Ring Challenge

Blog by : BillCraven
0

After writing my last blog I realized how frustrated I am while playing lately. Therefore I decided that I am going to play 20,000 hands of micro limit full ring. Not only do I plan on being more frustrated than ever but I play on figuring out how to handle that frustration much better and at a much better price!

I plan on playing 5k hands of .5/.10, then 5k hands of .10/.25, then 5k hands .25/.50, and hopefully ending with 5k of .50/1.00. I have never profitably played .5/1 full ring so I am looking forward to improving my internet full ring game, because my strongest game is live full ring play but can't figure it out online yet.

Well I will be posting HH's and PT stats here on my blog nightly so check back soon!

Horrible Day...

Blog by : BillCraven
0

Horrible day today in general. Lost $300 playing 1/2 PLO for only 100 hands getting it in good like 5 times.... and by good i mean 65% or better.

Woke up very very late and a little hung over from the night before. I missed my earliest class I have 12:30 pm lol and barely made it on time to my 4 o clock class. Got to school just in time for a test I didn't know I had, but atleast it was easy and I got their to take it. So atleast I am passing school still ;-)!

Barely got to see my girlfriend at all maybe 10 minutes before she had work. Food and gas prices are killing me...US economy is hitting me so hard I might actually need to get another job, which honestly I have never really had a real job, so THIS SUCKS!!!!

Last hand of the night against a laggy player with a flop aggression of 7 and turn aggression, only reason I even stayed playing was him. Here is the last hand that if I won would have STILL been up money after running incredibly bad.

Well today sucks! GL everyone I would post more but I am too upset.

PLO Continues To Amaze Me

Blog by : BillCraven

Interesting spot preflop against two tight players. If I put them both on aces here, getting it in is easy I think.

www.pokerhand.org/

Like the play or no? I have posted the hand on the forum for more review. So after running bad in PLO and dropping a buyin or two, I started to play some low limit heads up and ran bad again.

Nice Tilt Session

Blog by : BillCraven
0

After losing 3 60/40s in a row playing 2/4 PLO I decided to tilt this hand right here. I am posting this because I hope the embarressment factor will keep me from tilting off that extra buy in or two every week. It is a major leak in my game right now and must work on drastically because I am not a rich man lol.

www.pokerhand.org/

I realize this isn't a buyin just about half as soon as I lost to a short stacker...still $80 is a lot of money for me still and I don't want to lose it for no reason.

So after I realized how stupid I am reviewing my hand histories and not even having a question about them to post in the forums (just bad hand selection preflop for my three bets, its obvious when you look at them), I decided to grind $50 PLO as a punishment and in the process missed my first class. Not that I would honestly have gone anyways.

Here is a hand from last nights session where I pick off a player who only three bets good AAxx.

www.pokerhand.org/

Its nice when your opponent lets you know his hand, because I know my flush outs are good as well as my straight outs I have such amazing implied odds, love players like this!

Heres the big loser from last night, not bad, if he didnt have one of my suits covered I wouldn't mind the play 3-handed.

awww pokerhand.org won't load is so laggy and I have to leave. If you are reading this I will update the hand tonight.

Edit

***Pokerhand.org is not working for me for some reason. If anyone knows of a PLO HH converter for Absolute and UB let me know plz***

another 40 bb night

Blog by : BillCraven

Another night 2 tabling PLO and scoring 2 buying at 1/2. I have decided to take the time out of my day to update a blog and will begin posting hands both big and tilting donk plays LOL.

In poker news I now have multiple accounts on different smaller sites(cake, bodog, ironduke and others) for game selection. I tried depositing on absolute but the number to call keeps me on hold for 30 minutes. I cannot even get ub transfer to work. If anyone could help pm me plz. In life news I just got a 32 gb iPod touch, which is the sweetest gadget ive gotten since my 22 inch LCD.

I am actually using my iPod to update this which is why I am typing so perfect, while listening to global news podcast. I want to figure out how to download or stream cr videos on it, because I do not know how yet but I know I can watch youtube videos flawlessly.

Also I have just got a crappy mic and web cam if people would like to sweat or chat pm me. I will talk as long as I have time.

PLO

Blog by : BillCraven

So lately I have been playing PLO and have just hit the ground flying. Every night seems like a 20BB/100 Hands night. I have been crushing 1/2 - 3/6 on UltimateBet. Just wish I could put in more hours, but I have a lot of school work to do.

If anybody knows how to set up PT stats that would be a great help so you guys can see this tear!

Some Advice For Low Limit Players

Blog by : BillCraven
0

The things I have noticed that most low limit players do to hurt profits.

1) Not taking advantage of promotions, for example UB Saturday tournaments if you final table any of the 15 guarenteed tournaments you get a free buyin to their Sunday Major. You can unregister, which i recommend, and get 215 tournament dollars.

2) Playing on Full Tilt! Full Tilt 50NL is the toughest on the internet. If you are just learning the game then I suggest one of the smaller sites with much softer games but NOT absolute poker! Still don't trust them.

3) Not paying attention to timing tells or to the players tendencys. You can watch tv while you play if you want to lose reads and the ability to make a very tough situation not so hard.

4) Playing No Limit Holdem and only that. Poker is such a wide game and their are sooo many weak players in the other games, especially mixed games. I suggest learning Razz, Omaha 8/B, and Stud H/L, then you can play H.O.R.S.E and it is a very profitable game if you know how to play all of them.

5) Not watching old videos. ActionJeffs old MTT videos are very informative still even though they are old. Adanthar's new videos are amazing and I suggest watching all of them and actually listening and studying what he says. He speaks very clearly and expresses a lot of concepts many low limit players can learn quickly!

Just trying to help you guys out. BTW I have final tabled a tournament ever Saturday for UB so right now I have about 1k in tournament dollars which I use to buy into the events and now every final table I make I can play in the 200k and still have plenty of left over tournament dollars to withstand variance and never have to buyin with actual cash for these $5, $10, & $20 tournaments.

Sick...FTOPS

Blog by : BillCraven
0

I have been really sick lately, with cold after cold and then to top it off pink eye in both eyes. Thats why I haven't updated my blog too much lately, but right now tonight ive just been resting and railing a few of the major tournaments. Only been watching the FTOPS 2.5k buy in with Aaron, sheets, and wacokid i think is there but on a different name. Not quite sure.

First place is a nice 420k so I'm sure it should be exciting!

Well until im better I won't be updating much but i plan on hitting the tables pretty hard!

Low Limit Heads Up Games

Blog by : BillCraven
0

I have recently been playing 50NL heads up and have made about 10 buyins in a very small number of hands.
Players seem to just be faar too aggressive or faar too tight/passive.

Another thing I noticed are that players do not seem to be aware of timing tells or bet sizes. I played one guy who called 4/5 pot bet on the flop then the low end straight draw with a QJ10 board with two spades. I was holding Q4s and this was a half staker just looking to gamble it up. The turn came a 7 i bet 3/4 pot leaving him with only $5 behind, and he flat calls! The river is another 7 and he shoves. Im guessing he has Q9 or a hand like that and we split. NOPE He shows 79 and takes the pot. He was nice enough not to hit and run and I got it all back in about 11 hands.

Here is another hand that really shows how great timing tells are. This player instantly bets pot and is bluffing EVERYTIME he does it. I get to call him down fairly light for the size of the pot.
