Refocusing

0

It seems like when I blog regularly, I play well and when I don't, I don't. I think the causation goes both ways and that leads to some very poor results. I'm down about 13 buyins in August, despite winning 2 yesterday, so I'm hoping for a really solid next two weeks. My job is done so I have time to put in hands and am ready to keep improving.

Here's a hand I was wondering about from yesterday:

Here villain is a 20/17, reasonably straight forward player. On the flop, I think cbetting doesn't really make sense since it will probably fold out all of his pairs, which we beat, and keep in his aces, which beat us. I decide to check back and check back turn as well since their are not any draws that make sense for him to have and I want to induce a bet, or suspicious call, on the river from his mid pairs. Does that make sense? or is cbetting still the better play.
