Back on the blog.

Well may was one hell of a bad month. My lowest point was around $4.5k, and I ended the month -$3k. Not only was I running bad, but uni was coming to a close and essays and exams stopped me playing alot of poker. The start of the month I probably played too much because of a bad start, which put the pressure on my uni work.

So for the last week of may I decided i wasnt going to get anywhere near break even and admitted defeat. I've never even been $1k down before by the end of the month so this is a new experience. just a good job I'd run so well the previous 2 months.

So once uni finished I felt relieved and got back onto the poker. Within less than a week i'd won $2k. So it just goes to show, without that pressure of uni, things started to go well again. Obviously some luck was involved, but I felt my patience had returned.

As i've said previously in my blog I feel my patience deteriorates half way through the month if I play alot. I've been away for the last week in europe to see friends, and havent played too much poker so I hope i'll be ok for the rest of the month now.

My euro trip started in Luxembourg as one of my mates Sammy has lived there for the last few years with his french girlfriend. Lux is a beautiful Country/City and I reccommend people stop of if traveling through germany/france etc. It is a little quiet, so i dont think I could live there, but you are so close to so many coutries which makes it a little special. I only spent 3 days there and my mate was at work half the time. It was just nice to see the place and obv my friend and his girlfriend.

Then I got a train to Zurich. This is where things got a little complicated, as my train was an hour late, and little english was being spoken by the annoucments. Also a ticket dude robbed my of 20 euros cos I was sat in the 1st class by accident. I'm sure he used the lack of communcation to get some extra money of me. Anyway i got to Zurich around 5pm, only to realise the Hotel I booked was not in Zurich center like the website said but 45 min train journey away. Luckily I have two sets of friends in Zurich so I managed to crash at one of their places. With Euro 2008 being on I'd prob had to sleep in the train station, or make the trip to my hotel.

Anyway back to poker. I did bring my laptop with me on my trip, and have managed to get a few hands in. I'm around $2.7k for the month now, Lots of poker next week to come.

Time to have a break.

Blog by : belfunk

I'm just had a terrible session on everest. I found some decent tables. But the fish kept getting lucky against me. I lost it a bit and stacked of a bit light too. I might aswell go burn my bankroll in the back garden if i'm going to keep on playing. I've still got a big enough bankroll to keep playing 200nl. So the best thing I can do is have a break and watch as many CR videos as I can. Uni work is the priorty at the moment. So there is more than enough reasons to stop playing. I know i'm not playing anywhere near my best now.

I've managed to get spadeye and pokerace working now. So be all set when i want to get some hands in on ftp.

I just hope I can get my roll back up in time for going to thailand in June. If not I might have to delay the trip.

What a terrble few weeks i've had. I just can get any consitancy at the moment. I'm either running really good or really bad. Its been like that for a while. Unfortunatly running really bad more than good. I'm $3.26k down for the month now. So if i can get a good run for the last couple of weeks of the month then its more than possible to break even or even better. I have a lot of work to finish for next thursday. So got to get that done. Then its mainly exams I have to worry about. So might be able to fit a few hours poker between revision.

Bollocks!

Just had an hour session on ftp. Nothing much happened. I think my tables were too tight. I noticed a few weaker players on the tables. Bu they wasnt giving up thier chips too easy. Well especially not to me. I'm stil trying to get spadeye working. I've just noticed my database needs converting into a postgres. So i'm doing that now. Think i'll try and purchase everest eye too.

My session finished $60 down. Might play another session later. But I'm starting to realise just how much uni work I have. Got to crack on. Trust it to be such a nice day outside.:(

Just played for less than an hour on everest and got shat on. I had to quit before anymore damage was done. I'm down $943 for the day now. Within the first 15 minutes 2 people had flopped 2 boats on me and i had to get it in. Then to finish me off this hand was played. I left all the tables very quickly after this happend.

Oh well got to brush it off. No poker for the rest of today. Cos I know I wont be playing my best. I have been playing well today. Been running at about 22/18. Which is pretty tight for me. I've been folding lots out of position. And apart from the JJ hand earlier I havent made many bad calls. Playing on everest does seem to be getting tougher though. I'm used to very passive players on there. But at the mo the players are getting very aggro. I dont know if its just against me. But its forcing me to tighten up. So annoying when they keep leading out pot on the flop and min raising my c-bets.

Anyway I'm sure things will turn around. Just got to stay confident. Roll on tommorrow.

Just played a 2 hour session and ended $200 down. I was never up more than $260. But made a bad call at the end of my session. Someone limped utg and shoved my raise. I had JJ. Stupid call, but i wasnt paying enough attention and thought they were in the blinds. Still would have been bad call imo. Will play later on everest for 2 more hours and see what I can do. Got to get to the post office and gym now. Then get some uni work done. Some footy on at 4 so might watch that and play after.

Just finished my second session of the day. ALmost played the full 2 hours i'm allowing. Only won $200 so $900 up for the day over around 1k hands. Cant complain. its the first day i've had like this for a while. Still had a few nervy and fustrating moments in this session. I played poket aces quite bad when I got 4 or 5 callers preflop. I played it weak and called down smallish bets from one player and he rivered a straight. Still could have been worse.

So a pretty bad week. $2.2k down. And $1.45k down for the month. Got to stay confident I can recover from it. With it being so early in the month its more than possible. A good week this week might get me back to zero. We'll see.

Super Tilt!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blog by : belfunk

Well things have been going pretty bad on the poker front atm. I had a session late on the last day of april and ended up $1k down for the day. So brings april to only $5k. Thursday I won a measly $85 over only 500 hands. I sesiously wasnt feeling it after the previous nights loss. Friday I played about 2k hands and lost $1k then yesterday I played nearly all day and lost $1.4k. So things are not good. The one good thing is i'm learning to deal with the losses at 200nl. I'm hoping it doesnt get any more extreme than this. I decided to 6 table yesterday and one session I had went really well. I brought my day back to -$500. Then I had one more session later on and tilted slightly and also got unlucky. One of the last hands i played was this one. And I did get unlucky but I feel I should of pushed on the flop. Stupid to call 2 big bets on flop and turn and not have pushed on the flop. Still I was way ahead when it went in.

At the time I was worried of a better hand when he raised me on the flop. Let me know what you think Ad/Fletch or anyone.

The reason I 6 tabled was because I knew it would tighten up my game and make me concentrate more even though I wasnt getting many hands. It definatley worked.

Anyway I woke this morning and decided I wasnt going to play anymore mammoth sessions for the time being. I have so much uni work I really cant afford to be playing poker all day. So my rule for the rest of the month is this; I can only play 2 sessions per day unless on a weekend. And each sesssion can only be a maximum of 2 hours long. But If i'm up over 3 buyins at anytime I have to end the session.

When things were going well this wasnt far of how i was playing. So lets hope it works and I stick to it.

So this morning I started playing 6 tables at ftp. And thank god it went pretty well. I was pretty much up on all the tables and found alot of fish willing to call call call. But one of my best hands was on the only deepstack table I was playing. I only discovered these tables yesterday, and they looked dangerous for a player on tilt. So i didnt play in them for long yesterday. But today I felt good and thought i'd sit tight in one. nothing much happened until this hand. Its not my biggest pot ever but not far off. hopefully this means luck is starting too tilt my way again.

It doesnt happend often. But its great to get to the river and know you have the best hand out there. So often i've been screwed on the river. If the board had paired it would have been hard to chuck the rest in with the way i'm running atm. So yeah even though i'm down $2.4k for the week i'm feeling good again after this session. Plus i reached +$700 within an hour. Much more like my winning sessions early last month.

I'll play one more session today then thats it. Uni work is priorty today.

I'm starting to realise now that to become I really good poker player you have to be able to still play well when things are going wrong and luck is against you. Its so easy to play well when your running well. I've made a few tilty mistakes this week, and i definatly lost some agression in my play because I was playing slightly scared of losing anymore. I didnt feel this too many times at 100NL. So now I know I need to stick out 200NL untill i'm used to these sort of downswings and never scared to get my money in on hands like the Jack10 hand I showed. I will be playing 400NL sometime this summer. But theres no rush at the mo.

Had a steady few days. nothing amazing. I won around $600 at the weekend. Monday was only $30 up, yesterday $200 and today -$150. So not a great end to the month. But i still managed to secure around $6k. Which is around my personal best. I was up $7.5k but the last 2 weeks of the month didnt go too smoothly.

I played on fulltilt this morning and got my hand in favourite 90% of the time. And lost most of them. Some were only slight favs but a few were 60%+ fav and I still lost. Was only $400 down for the session. So not so bad. I feel my hand reading is realy improving the more I play 200nl. Alot of the players are playing like I used to play not so long ago, and I'm noticing obvious weakness in their play that I used to have. I played later on everest and pulled it back to -$150.

I havent been table selecting properly on fulltilt and I think that could be a key issue for me atm on that site. The players are a bit better and more aggro than everest. And even though I've been sitting on alot of tables with nits/tag/regs and definatley having an edge over them. I know my win rate at that site could be alot better if I get spadeye involved again. I'm going to still not use stats on the tables as my reads on players have improved so much since i've stopped using them.

If you can see this graph below for the month. Its $3k under what I've won, due to lost hand historys. Hopefully I can have an equally good month in may and have my best graph to date.

I'll be happy with $4k+ for may as I'll be all set up money wise to head of traveling in june.

Downswing!!!!

Blog by : belfunk

Well it happen sooner or later. And i got sucked in to a bit of a bad session on sunday. I must have played around 3k hands that day and lost around $1.6k. Not a good day. But at least I have a bankroll now that can take that sort of thing, I played another session on monday and said to myself before i started that if I had another down session I was not going to play all week. If I had a decent session then to play a few small sessions through the week. I lost $300 and havent played since. Its been good to have a proper break from it. Cos it has been constantly on my mind. Just wish I'd have listened to myself more when I was trying to have a break last week.

So i'm around $5.5k up fro the month. Prob gonna play a little next week. But not much. Just a few sessions to get me in the mood for the start of may. If i stay above 5k for the month i'm still happy with that. Another 5k month and i'll be more than prepared for heading off to Thailand in may.

I'm going to go through alot of my hands before I play again so will post some on here.

This week I've been attempting some uni work and managed to finish a mix I wanted to do for some friends. We are going to see Sasha and Ame on the 25th May. All of us are big fans of Sasha but alot didnt know much about Ame's music, so I said i'd mix up some of sasha and ame's tracks together to get them clued up for the night. So if anyone fancies a listen heres the link. I'm not sure how long the links up for. So if it stops working just let me know and i'll upload it again.

1. Ame - Fiori

2. Sasha - Coma

3. Ame,Henrik Schwarz,Dixon - Where We At(Version 1)

4. Sasha - Who Killed Sparky

5. Akabu - Phuture Bound(Ame Remix)

6. Sasha - Mongoose

7. Ame - Kuma

8. Sasha - Rabitweed

9. Ame - Rej

I did have a small break mid week. But ended up not sleeping well one night and played a few SnG's in bed. Came 2nd in a $50 and $100 one. So a nice little win there. I ended up playing some more SnG's yesterday and lost around the same. So I've just forgotten about them for my profit.

The reason I've played a few SnG's this week is cos I've been playing pretty bad, and I wanted to play some poker. If I play some SnGs and tourneys I have to tighten up my game, and theres alot less risk.

Since yesterday I'm up over over $1k. So my weeks winnings so far are $1.4k. Which aint bad considering Its not been a great week on the poker. A couple of days this week I was up over $500 and ended up even or quite a bit less on the day. At the start of the month this wouldnt of happened. Now I'm winning regular at 200NL, my expectations are getting higher. So need to cool it. I'm up about $7.6k now, which is def mt best month. A good end to the month and I could push the $10k mark.

Today I've played only on Full Tilt. I love the software so much more, and the games are way more aggro. I feel I'm used to 200nl enough now to play comfortably and chuck alot of chips around. My stats have been pretty wild though.

Today over 1300 hands I played at 30/24/3 which looks far too loose. But I felt like I was ruling the tables, and throwing alot of top pair weak kicker hands away when it looked dodgy.

I managed to get some hands at the correct time when I was giving a very laggy image. I love it when it works out.

Here's one hand I got a bit lucky on today. Quite early in the session, but I feel like I'm getting a fold here enough of the time to make this move. Usually this hand is a mid pocket pair he's floating, or a 10X hand imo.

I dont like his play here. If he's going to call a shove on the turn, he should be willing to raise preflop or postflop. If he raises on the flop, he wins the pot, and if I have a better pair he's gonna find out.
