Im still AROUND and graphs...

Blog by : bazuko

Hello CR -

Its been a while since i last posted a blog entry, and with getting a new computer a couple months back, i decided to have stars send me all my HHs which leads to me posting some graphs.

Now, this is just for stars, but im pretty happy to see my results, ive had quite a few swings , the biggest one being around 15-20k....For someone playing mostly 200nl, it can be quite devastating, especially when trying to shot take and finally make the move to 400nl...But i did a full database review and realized that I just wasnt ready to beat 400nl, my head wasnt on right, I would overplay/underplay hands, just cause i thought it was what was needed to be done at those levels. I was wrong, but its ok, cause i realized it and now im ready to try my hand at it again...

Anyways, onto some graphs, because everyone likes graphs :)

Stats:

First thing i noticed, how in the heck am i stuck almost $50 at .01/.02NL, must be due to those late night de-tilting all in sessions...

And since my main game is 200nl i figured id post a graph of it:

First thing i noticed here, wow, i gotta move up and ouch at that big downswing, almost 50bis at 200nl, that was the type of ds that just makes you question your every move, and to some point im kinda glad it happened, because it just made me have to look at my game from every aspect, which helped me notice some leaks, one of them being that my volume sucks, and i also realized while chasing SNE the first month that Im not happy being a 1-2bb winner while mass tabling, so for the time being that chase is on hold.

Anyways, I've been playing quite a few mtts as of late, i tend to do that when i get the mtt bug or just simply get burned out from cash, so for the time being my plan is to grind cash most days except for sundays, where it will be mtt day, i seem to do well on the low and midstakes mtts, and have had a few deep runs in a couple majors, but nothing of note, however, all i can do is keep trying, especially with the WSOP getting closer... the rush you get from going deep in an mtt, is something cash cant match for me at the moment, so just trying to keep things fresh and get ready for Vegas!

Good luck to everyone!

Hugo.

Probably my swingiest month ever...and general update

Blog by : bazuko

200nl 6 max has always been "my game", is the one i am probably the most comfortable on, so when i go on a 35bi downswing its a nice kick in the nutz.

On my last blog i was shot taking 3/6 and 5/10 with really good success, but it was mostly table selecting, and i got bored with it, so i decided to purposely NOT table select all 2/4nl games on stars, and did ok....but that got a little stale, so i thought, lets try the 250bb 1/2nl games. Which with hems like this:

Who loses such big pots at 200nl? Only me i guess, anyways that is a really good reason how i can go on a 35bi ds, but then i kept playing them, cause i think i have an edge vs those players, however after withdrawing a ton, it hurt ...a lot, and started thinking the usual " How did i ever win at this game" etc etc.

I hate redepositing money ive withdrawn, so it wast time to buckle down and grind, i was just trying to find a way to unstuck for the month. I even wrote a letter to myself (no homo), just to remind myself of what this downwing feels like and the general thoughts i had.....Ive gone through big downswings before, but not like these and especially not at 200nl.

So i went back to the basics, a lil something that surprised my and motivated me was that at the lowest point of my downswing, i checked my 200nl stats for the year and still very close to a 3ptbb/100 winrate, which reminded me that if i stopped spewing and prob stop losing 2k pots at 1/2, maybe i could get out of it, with the online BR i had at that time, it was just plain irresponsible of me to keep playing so deep, so i corrected that leak, and I can say that things have started moving on the right direction again.(no graphs after the last ones doomswitch)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the reasons why i w-d a big chunk from online was because there was a $2k tourney in oklahoma called "The River", that BigBadDevil and a couple other friends were coming down to, and i wanted to keep my options open in case some good cash games happened.

I was just gonna play some 2-5nl and warm up, and BBD obv says no, lets go play 5/10nl, why not? I feel like my live game is stronger than my online game, i like trying to figure out each player and finding out what makes them tick. So the session started really well and was up like 3k fairly quick, sweet i thought, now i got the buy in for the tourney lol...well i kept playing and i shoved two pair vs a gentleman who seemed like he just didnt wanna be there, he called w top pair +fd and hit...Blah, 5/10 shot ends up only slightly profitable.

BBD and I got a room at the casino where this tourney was being held, so since it was a re entry tourney wich if u bust the first day 1, u can buy back in up to day 1c. I get coolered w AQ to A9 on A52 vs a chick, and im down to my last 2 bbs, and then i go on the sickest heater ever, i think i had like 4k chips, and at the end of the night i lost a pot when i 4b shoved AKo on the bubble vs a midstack who had iso a shorties ep shove....he time banks and eventually calls w QQ and i lose the race, however i still come back the next day which means u made the money (every day they played down to 10% of the field, which meant if u make day 2, u are in the $)

WOW, i thought i was down to 4k and lost a pot on the last hand of the night for the chip lead....sick stuff....I eventually come day2 w only 18bbs and nothing major happens, i shoved $$ on co and bb called w 66, oh wells.

This meant it was time to hit the cash tables, and afer flopping top two vs tptk and a set vs TPTK, i was feelin good....So i think why not, lets take a shot at 10/25nl!

To describe the level of play is to say that i dont think any of the players could beat 100nl 6 max.....so many of them play their hands sooo faceup and weak tight. Which led to a 30hr session over 2 days and a 5 fig profit :)

Pic:

---------------------------
Oh wells, that was last month, and since i was invited to LV next week to play at ceasars 1k deep stack(50k starting chips@ 25/50blinds w 60 min levels )! I decided to put in a lil mtt sesh and ended up w a double final table! i got second on ftps 22r 6 max, started chip lead w 250k to his 1.6mill....i TOOK the chip lead, and then simply put, i fkd up a hand, no excuses, i got caught up in the heat of the moment and messed up, although at least i had a pair :P

So while Im heads up on ftp, im aproching the bubble on stars $55 6 max, and after a few flips go my way(obv super crucial to win these), i reach the final table with the chip lead, i think i had 320k to everyone elses 100k ish.....So what is there to do? Find out who wants to play heads up!!!!!!!!!
So i start raising like 70% of hands and people are not adjusting and letting me run over them.... we get to 4 handed and I 4b shoved Q5ss over the guy second in chips bvb cause there was a guy with ike 6 bbs left.

Anyways he has KK and doubles up, oops, cant lose this tourney now, a guy busts in 3rd and then i so i get all his chips when i 4b cib on a 5689r turn w J7 to his A7, then i get to HU w a big lead and win it :)

Wow, this got super long, anyways, maybe ill have a TR to write after vegas, till then, no matter how bad things seem to get, dont give up...

Its been a while, wsop, 5/10 shots and mtts

Blog by : bazuko
0

A lot has happened since getting back from the wsop, it was definitely fun and was lucky enough to have a couple deep runs and make a final table in my first series. One thing i regret is playing maybe a bit too fast, i mean i got it in with KK aip, and JJ and AQs(bigstack) decided to call, and well he won, blah whatever, but i realized that the ME is a marathon and i might have been playing it like a sprint. I did have some side bets with Bigbaddevil as to who can get to 100k chips faster, i busted and i bought out, and then he didnt even get to 100k before busting, such a hustler that guy... :p

Anyways, after getting back, i kinda still had the mtt itch, so i played a few of them this month and decided that 2 weeks ago, it would be my first sunday to attempt to play a full MTT schedule, i ended up binking one of the cheaper buy in onesTourney win

So then, i decided to keep at it, and tried to play a full ftops schedule, i had a few deep runs, and i feel like my mtt game has taken a big change for the better, and realized that even the known "regs" have leaks, so Ive focusing on figuring out what they are and how to exploit them, which has been fun. Also i was reminded by a friend, why i started playing poker, and it was in fact for the competition, there is nothing like the thrill of getting to the last few tables of an mtt.

So, after that, then i decided, ive been grinding 1-2 for the past 2 years, which fairly good success, and then realized that im playing with the guys that are playing 5/10+ and holding my own vs them, so whats the next thing i should do? Obv move up and play 3/6 and 5/10 lol, and to what some people may forget about moving up, is that in order to do so, you HAVE to play the bigger level, its the only way...its the same game! just gotta kinda forget about the money symbol, and just pay really close attention.

Here is a screen shot, since thursday, when i decided to start playing higher...Ill even include yesterdays session, which wasnt the prettiest, all is 6 max nl on stars.
Graph
Im leaving with a couple friends to LA this weekend, to play in the Legends of poker WPT, so hopefully i have a deep run to blog about, since i might start trying to blog a bit more often. Lifewise, life is pretty good, we are planning a vacation with the wife, but still trying to figure out where. Anyways, this is a lot longer than i planned, but hopefully everyone is doing well. Peace!

MTT Scores

Blog by : bazuko
0

So i got burned out from playing cash, and with the scoop coming i figured i would try my hand at mtts, I was getting deep, but not closing anything.

Then wednesday night came in, I lost with AA aipf late in 2 tourneys and then I was left in one, and I had said, this is it, Im done with tourneys after today, unless I win one.

I really wanted a 5k score, and with the wsop coming up, i figured it would be good training. Well, I actually ended up chopping that last mtt HU for right under 9k a 11+r fwiw. Then about an hour ago, i just won a $33 15k gtd and some satties for about 3600....

I still hate mtts, and today will be the last day playing them, with the whole scoop scene ending, then its back to the cash grind, im not super excited, so I may just try to work on my plo game :)

Anyways, till next time,

xoxo

Back to blogging, January results.

Blog by : bazuko

So, my volume wasnt as much as I would have liked, but quality over quantity me thinks...and I actually stepped it up the last few days, as a matter of fact, I just got back from an all nighter mini-lockdown at a friends place.

Im calling january quits, so ill probably just coach a couple of my students, but my overall plan is to try and do as little as possible, take the wife out to a nice dinner and be fresh for the new week/month coming up.

My goal for february is to play and play the majority of my hands at 400nl, hopefully things go smoothly, and try to beat my whooping 45 hours I played this month!! Anyways, here are a couple pics to summarize january.

And the graph:

Good luck to all!

Best month to date!

Blog by : bazuko

So, for some reason I thought today was the last day of the month and I wanted to try and reach the 15k mark. I was $500 shy, so Im playing a session, up around 200ish and this hand would put me over the mark, BUT: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4049166

Oh well, still a pretty good month for me. I reached my minimum goal of hands played (30k), and had a pretty good winrate.

And the graph:

Damn, those are some big pics, oh well, they get the job done. I also ft's a couple tourneys, cleared a bonus and made $700 playing live, for a total of an extra $ 4930, which brings the total at : + 14,107.7

Btw, I just took a new student and have 3 more spots available for coaching, feel free to pm me or look at my cr coaching profile here: http://www.cardrunners.com/members/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=431331&page=1

Anyways, I hope you guys kill march, and I hope I can suck it up and start owning souls at 400nl :)

Blog by : bazuko

Not a whole lot has been going on, but Ive been playing really little poker since my last update, with decent results . I plan on grinding hard this week. And also as a friend recommended, Im gonna start playing 1-2 mon-thursday and 2/4 on the weekends.

I think Ive gotten to complacent and 1-2 and its time to suck it up and move up and hopefully adapt to the game quick and pwn :)

Anyways, here is my graph for the last 4 days. Good Luck to all!
