Hey guys what's up? October was a pretty sweet month for me poker-wise. I had a lot of success at the tables, and got in good volume considering I can only play 4 days a week.
I've changed up my strategy a bit when it comes to out of position play. Essentially, I am experimenting with a strategy where I check my whole range versus regs out of position in heads up pots, and I've had success with it so far. People tend to play pretty poorly and spew a lot of money into the pot when my range is pretty strong. I've found that you can actually get a lot more value from your hands playing passively out of position than aggressively, because guys tend to have a pretty good strategy versus barreling.
I was having a rough time in my personal life so I played a lot of 50NL when I was stressed out, and then 100 when I was feeling good or during the evenings on the weekend. I tried a little bit mixing 4 zoom tables with 12 regular tables at 50 NL but my results doing that weren't especially good compared to when I just stuck with 20 tables.
I was getting coaching from a fellow CR coach, Duncan Smith. He also lives in Windsor, so we actually met up for a couple of live coaching sessions. It was pretty helpful seeing how another successful regular at my games thinks about them. He helped me get a better idea of how other guys play, and gain confidence in my game. I recommend him as a coach!
