after getting 7th in the gigantic sunday $5 2r+1a i have realized something; playing small stakes tournaments is really tilting!
when i lose in the 1k or 100r i really don't mind much. i go into those tournaments kind of expecting to lose. i know that i'm about equally skilled with most of the players in the field. but when i lose in the 3r or a 10 freezeout it's an abomination.
i have such a ridiculous edge deep in these small stakes things that when i get down to the final 100 or so and i have an average stack i am expecting to always make the final table. i need to come back down to earth because i'm not going to always be winning.
i think i am just pissed because tonight was especially tilting. i had 1.4M with like 80 people left, when average final table stack was to be about 3.2M. on the FT bubble and final table the short stacks just kept doubling up. with 12 people left there were like 6 people with less than 12bb but somehow it took FOREVER to get to the final table and the avg stack was like 20bb when we got there.
i ran pretty bad at the final table but i also hit a 1 outer with about 100 people left and I won QQ vs AA on the FT bubble. it's funny how we can obsess for hours over losing AJ vs A7 7 handed but totally forget about the 2 outer we hit 10 minutes before that. i was actually quite lucky to finish 7th of 4500 people tonight but it's so hard to think that way!
