How disappointing this month has been. I've played zero hands of poker and have basically just been a bum. May ended ok with me being up about $2,500. I set a goal of $4,000 this month and am behind on it somewhat. Full Tilt is making it fairly difficult for a low limit player to manage his money with the constant delays in checks and wire transfers.

Very happy the Wings won the cup last night. You'll never convince me Pitt won game 5, Detroit flat out choked and damn near did it in game 6. What the fuck ever we won. I went out and bought a few shirts for my Mom and gf and myself today and am still waiting for the hat that I had to fucking order. Dunhams said they would call tonight when it's in, I never got a call from them so I need to head up there sometime soon.

I've been searching online for a handheld GPS unit to use for fishing. I'm torn between two that are both good units.

My next report will be tom. hopefully and I will try to post a few hands.

I have to go to the Dentist in an hour for a cleaning. My hygenist I've been seeing for like 10 years is out on maternity leave and probably wont be coming back so that really sucks and yes she is a m.i.l.f. I think 70+% of hygenists are m.i.l.f.s. My gf and I have been kinda looking at houses although we really don't plan to move in together until like March of 09. In Michigan it's just sick how cheap houses are right now and it's so exciting because these houses are gonna shoot up in 10 years. The bad part is we live a solid 45 minutes away from each other and her work is 30 minutes from her house (out further from my house) so deciding on a city is complicated because whats in the middle or kinda trashy areas. I'm really hoping we can live in Grosse Pointe which is a very nice area, borders Lake St. Clair, and has great schools.

Poker has been going ok. Including rakeback I'm up about $2,500 with some pretty limited hours.

Sidney Crosby is not Wayne Gretzky, not the best player in hockey, not the best player between the Penguins and Wings. Osgood let in a bad goal (Crosbys first). Wings in 5 was my prediction before the series began. The Wings played horrible in game 3 and only lost by 1 goal so no need for concern.

I slept on the couch for part of the night so I would hear this concrete repair guy that was suppose to come early this morning and he never showed. My neck is fucking killing me so I'm going to take a hot shower. Hopefully the jacuzzi will be here and running by Saturday.

This month is going fair. I played quite poor today but managed to win $19.05. I should have easily been up $130+ but overplayed a few hands, gave a few free cards, made a few bad calls, just didn't play my A game. None of it was really tilt play but rather just not playing smart enough. I took some beats but also gave some out. Hopefully I will play my A game tomorrow.

LOL at the San Antonio Spurs

LOL at the San Jose Sharks (Melroses pick to win it all)

I'm excited to watch the Wings vs. Stars game tom. night. I really don't see the Stars as a threat. When the Wings have players like Franzen scoring 8 goals in 4 games there really is not a whole lot that concerns me. Just ship us the cup already.

I decided to make a list of random shit that I seem to blow off constantly. I want to do at least one of these things a day. Things like fix a skipping DVD, schedule Dentist appt, just random stupid things that I put off.

I'm exhausted and keep spelling things wrong. Off to bed.

I've taken the past few days in hopes of being fresh for playing 160 hours in May. I bought the new Grand Theft Auto game for xbox 360 yesterday and love it although I havn't been able to play it for more than 2 hours. It was a good day yesterday for Detroit sports as the Pistons, Wings, and Tigers all won. The Wings look very good this postseason which is a nice change from losing to horrible, lucky, hot teams in the first or second round. I will talk about some poker when I start playing again tomorrow but for now

I must say how much I hate Tony Kornheiser, Skip Bayless and of course how stupid I find Barry Melrose to be. Before the Wings and Avalanche series Kornheiser said Colorado is a lock, obv. that is not working out so well. I find Skip Bayless very annoying and generally think his predications are both horrible and confusing, ex. Skip thought the Nuggets would beat the Lakers in round one in 7 games (Lakers won series 4-0). Bayless has a nausiating love fest with Steve Nash (overrated), Tony Parker (French), and of course the big ox in the middle Tim Duncan who looks like he just woke up taped to a couch outside a frat house. He also thinks LeBron James is horrible at basketball and overrated. Personally I watched James beat the Pistons starting 5 by himself last year in the 4th quarter and O.T. so only Kobe is better than James but to say the guy sucks, is overrated, selfish, whatever is just ridiculous.

I need to hear Barry Melroses comments on hockey like I need a leg amputated (which I don't). His never ending love fest for the San Jose Sharks is both disturbing and getting kinda gay. His love fest for Sidney Crosby is old. Yes, Sidney is a great player but don't say he is equal to Mario Lemieux or Jagr (2 all time great Penguins players).

How can I leave out Brett Favre and everyones love for him. I have of course seen him embarass the Lions worse than the Lions embarass themselves (which is a lot). He's a good quaterback and that is where it ends. I don't need to hear his wife recite inspirational poetry on Monday night football while Jaws and Kornheiser cream themselves listening to words of love about Favre. At one point while Favre's wife was in the booth Favre threw a horrible pass that was either going to be incomplete or intercepted, somehow it bounced off the hand of Dre Bly and ended up being caught by Driver and they ranted and raved about how good of a throw it was. Of course John Madden needs to either have gay sex with Brett Favre or give up on the dream.

I'm a big boy and can handle criticism of Detroit teams but I pointed out some other examples of the stupidity of these commentators. To not even mention Detroit as a team that could win the cup is just ridiculous. According to Barry Melrose it will be San Jose vs. Pittsburgh, Montreal. The fucking sharks are down 3-0. They pay this idiot probably 500k a year for this.

Repair People and everything is broken

Blog by : acuvue

My week has consisted of little poker, little internet, no air, broken garage door, etc. My TV just stopped working last Saturday so I called Comcast they were gonna send someone out Monday to fix it, long story short I fixed it by switching the cable box in the living room with the one in my room and now all TV's work.

Monday the Central air stopped working because it was low on free on (sp, too lazy to look it up). Called Consumers Energy and they were gonna send someone out Tuesday between 8am and 4pm (nice appt. time). Called them at 5:30pm when still the guy hasn't came out, they said someone will be over by 11pm. I guess Tuesday was the first day for ac repair so since I called on Monday my appointment was deleted. Needless to say I was steaming mad. The guy came around 8:30pm (12.5 hours of waiting). It was 2 degrees too cold to put in free on I guess so he said he would come Wed. between 2-3pm. On Wed he came over at 3:30 to put the free on in and couldn't because there is a minor leak and free on is bad for the environment if it leaks. Since the central air unit is old anyways this means buying a new one is the best option because testing to find a leak is very expensive (about half price of a new unit $1500.

Within 30 minutes of him leaving I started a session of poker and my interent went out. Tried everything I could with the modem and unplugging and restarting, etc. Called Comcast and was on the phone for 1.5 hours and they said they will send a technician out on Thursday between 12:30 and 2:30pm. The guy came at 2:30 and it wasn't the modem but my PCI ethernet connection or something and I needed to buy a new part and install it myself. I'm fairly good with computers but have never installed anything into my hard drive by hand. Sometime around 5pm my internet was finally working.

Today I hopped in my car and hit the garage door button to close it when I was leaving and of course it starts blinking and shit. Check the basic shit to make sure the rollers are all alligned and nothing is sticking out and causing the sensor to not work.

I should clarify this my parents house so I don't have to pay for all this stuff although I did wait for all these people and deal with them so it's equally frustrating. The computer shit I paid for (was cheap).

Click to see my PT Screen Shot

So here is my pt screen shot from 4-8- 4-17. I know I messed up the shirinking and that but I've but way more time into the than I thought to I'm just leaving it.

Stats:

Hands 22,028

VPIP 17.00

PFR 15.47

Went to showdown 21.95

Won at showdown 55.30

BB/1000 5.34

Multible table stats (MT RATIO) 6.74

Total Profit $1,175.65

I imagine that this stuff will go much smoother in the future. I want to put some time into this blog as a whole, at times it will be diffucult to find the time but somehow I will. I really think I can improve much more and make close to 7bb/100.

I really need to play more, get some type of a schedule going on . I need to play 40hrs a week and have been getting 32 hrs at best.

As far as financial plans with poker I guess I should state them:

Rest of April grind 50NL

May grind 50NL

late May or June step up to 100NL

By the end of May I should around $3,000 to move up to 100NL, owe nothing on my credit card (I use it to buy everything I purchase) and have my parents paid back ($1,200). They should be paid back at the end of April. I plan to use all my rakeback towards the downpayment of a lease for a new car when mine ends in September this year or as a downpayment in my truck if I decide I want to keep it. My vehicle is a 2006 Jeeep Commander. The only thing I would lease right now would be a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 or 2500 4x4.

I have a fantastic gf that I plan to marry at somepoint in the near future. Were planning on buying a house soon (maybe next spring). If I can step up and start playing more I have no doubt I can make a good living from 50nl and 100nl although I do want to advance up the ladder but in the meantime. I hated school so much and seeing how the graduating business students were stuggling to make 34k per year in SouthEast Michigan I dropped out and have been making a decent although not great living.

Assuming my current winrate in May working 160 hours over the month = $5,120. I know 5k isn't much money to some people on this site but it was at one point I'm sure. I'm just going to continue playing when I can this month but in May I will work 160 hours.

Well thats all for tonight. BIg Wings Win in OT so that was nice.

Since I started dating my gf (7 months ago) I have managed to gain 52.5lbs. We go out to eat several times a week and I eat about as unhealthy as possible. I drink pop (regular coke and cherry coke) from the time I get up to the time I go to bed (two 2 liters a day). I don't carry the weight well at all. The extra pounds go right to my gut. It's hard to imagine that last summer I would rollerblade 10 miles about 4 times a week. So my plan is to do some exercising to try to get from 237.5 to 195.00. I'm just going to watch what I eat at times and get some freaking exercise which is something I don't get nearly enough of.

I took screen shots of my pt stats and even saved a graph. I had a horrible time trying to upload it to the blog here so I'm going to mess with that right now.

I have neglected my newly started blog already. Once I put it off for one day it makes putting it off a second and so on. I went to the Red Wings playoff game on Saturday (game 2) . In Detroit anything less than a Stanley Cup is considered a failure. We take for granite making the playoffs every year because it's expected. Many people seem to laugh at Detroit (although I live in a city 35 minutes outside of Detroit). What major city isn't a crime infested, poverty stricken area? The downtown section of any major city is usually a bad area. It seems many people from California and Florida rag on Detroit. I guess these people don't think Miami and L.A. have bad areas filled with drugs, robbery, and are poor. Save the ragging on Detroit. I can't think of a better sports town although Boston is up there on the list. I of course realize the Lions are a joke and so does anyone that lives in MI. The Lions have been rebuilding for 50 years and seem to make no progress. It's common to see fire Millen on the back of vehicles and I even saw it in tape on the back of someones ice fishing shanty this winter. I personally love the winter because of ice fishing. I hate warm weather. The heat bothers me much more than the cold. I of course am not looking forward to 93 degree heat in the Summer.

As you can tell I don't plan to only write about poker on here. Poker has been going well and I will post a screen shot of my poker tracker stats. I noticed a huge difference in skill when dropping to the 50nl games on FTP. If anyone is going through a rough patch at there current game I would highly suggest moving down for a few weeks or a month or whatever until you regain some confidence and pad the bankroll, or in my case rebuild it back to where it was. I'm still not going to showdown enough IMO so I want to work on that. Overall I'm happy with how I've been playing and my emotional control. My multi table ratio is 6.76 over this stretch of hands.

I'll post screen shots tomorrow.

First blog

Blog by : acuvue

After a depressing run at 100NL I'm moving down to 50NL in hopes of improving my game. My biggest problem seems to be that I don't go to showdown enough. It seems I'm either making hero calls by trying to get my went to sd percentage higher or I'm giving up way to easy. I want to get my went to showdown percentage up from about 18% to 24%. My roll is at $1,450.66 as of today 4-6-08. I want to begin to make some good call downs and not get pushed off pots. I plan to post some interesting hands on my blog after my sessions and in the forums. Tomorrow is a new day and the beggininng of my attempt to improve at poker.
